@@whojang2000 You Never Know hits hard too, but there are some Korean subtleties that get lost in the translation with subs. I personally think that You Never Know is a deeper song lyrically and closer to the Blackpink history. The Happiest Girl will totally make you cry though.

I agree that Lisa and Jisoo really stepped up their game in this album. Lisa was really a pleasant surprise. You can feel the emotions from their voice in this song. I would have liked more lines for Jisoo but she really did a great job owning the giving life to the lines she was given.

Wow man.. me as a blinks since their pre-debut era hearing from you said about Jisoo and Lisa vocals made me tear up a little bit. They both really an amazing singers and have improved a lot. Haters who hate on their tone and singing vocals can go 6 feet under now.
Fun fact Jisoo was meant to be an actress from the beginning not an idol. YG told her to try audition for idol cause that time they really want to debut girl group with visual. She attend tons of singing and dancing classes non stop even weekend she not going home cause she was not very good at that time 🥲 and now everyone praise her.

I am intriqued by Lisa's vocal...i read it somewhere that Lisa was supposed to be the lead vocalist in Pinkpunk (pre blackpink) and she had a vocal trainer since she was a little kid (saw it in the documentary) ...Perhaps someone can help confirm this?

Yes she is supposed to be the lead vocalist in pinkpunk but when they debuted in black pink she still sing in whistle and boombayah but she is bashed because a foreigner get the attention of the public. She lost her confidence D4 happen she never sing at all if you notice. Even in stay she never sing. She just came back singing some lines in KTL after fans told her she have a beautiful voice during meet and greet. In all honesty Lisa has the most stable vocals among the 4. If you have been into their concert you can always say that even when jumping, moving and dancing her vocals never falter.

I think for a very long time, YG didn't know how to use Lisa's vocals. Her voice shines most in the lower mid-range. When she sang a duet with Rosé in the christmas special you could hear that she sings really well in that range. In this album, they finally placed her voice in that sweet spot and that's why it shocked everyone how good it actually sounds.

As you said they all done awesome in this song and it hits you right in the feels especially Jisoo and Lisa, This song finally has shown what they both are capable of but so far not been able to show. Imagine hearing this live in concert.. I think the power and true emotion of this song will then break out and be felt by all in there. My first thought on hearing this song was it is a breakup song. But, the more I listen to it, I am not convinced. I am more leaning towards it is about how each and everyone in the group has been hurt by haters and nastiness at some point. It is saying, yes you have hurt us, yes you have made us cry. But, we will not allow you to see it because we are better than you.

I agree with you the song is so well done, but at moments I do wish they would lay off of some of the reverb and extra effects they add to their vocals sometimes. Their natural voices are so nice, I hope they do a clean live version later on ala Sure Thing cover, or Rose's Sea of Hope series of songs.
