The reason I wear a kimono is simply because I love kimonos. And the kimono is my identity growing up Japanese. I would be happy if people could learn a little bit about Japan by seeing me wearing kimono in my videos all the time, and I would be happy if I could help Japan's traditional industries!

Thank you for showing this. My grandmother preferred to wear kimono, even though she owned dresses and pant suits. She had many children, so maybe wearing a kimono was easier for her. None of her daughters loved kimono like her though. She made many of her kimono, and haori. I still even have hanten she made for us and sent to America. Please play koto or shamisen in a video in the future.

@@catrice1296all of the above! it is for the quality of the craftsmanship and materials, as well as out of respect for the craft and the tradition it represents. i would imagine craftsmen who hand make these are fewer in quality and number than ever, so it is supporting a sort of niche traditional craft.

A lot of people hire somebody to help them get dressed in a kimono, as it can take a hour and a half minimum to wear one correctly if you try to it by yourself, from what I’ve been told.

    • @ВераПолевнева

@@paulready8897 In the old days, a rich lady was dressed by a bunch of servants. Ancient European outfits were also very complex, I was once dressed in a ball gown in terms of reconstruction, another woman dressed me, but the Japanese kimono seems a hundred times more complicated to me, I would really like to dress in a kimono at least once in my life to feel what it’s like this, it's like my dream now.

You can just fold up the edge around your waist (she shows how to do it when she explains how to put the tabi socks on) and repeat with the nagajuban and undergarment then you do your business (beware of your sleeves as well! You can wrap the hanging part on your arm) and unfold every layer. Hope this helps!

I am Japanese, and I have been learning Kidzuke for several months.
There is traditional Kidzuke and a slightly simplified modern Kidzuke.
Traditional Kidzuke is particular about the manners, and there are many methods of Kidzuke and materials, patterns, and rules that match the season of the kimono.
It is very deep, and once you start learning, you can't stop. It is very difficult, but it is not like wearing clothes, and it is a wonderful experience.
I would like foreigners to learn and wear it as well.

I found that every region in the world has traditional clothes that show the culture of its people and how they see beauty. For example, in India, beauty is seen in showing a woman’s waist and wearing bright colors. In Japan, beauty is about having small feet and a body with no curves, and the kimono hides the woman’s shape. In Arab cultures, beauty is in wearing silk and gold, but respect and dignity come from being fully covered in black. In Europe and America, there were times when a thin waist and large hips were seen as beautiful, so women wore corsets and special clothes to make their hips look bigger. Even in makeup, ideas of beauty are different. As a woman, I enjoy looking at the diversity of people culture . Thank you

Kimono are so expensive but can you get the silk fabric and sew it yourself or use the fabric to sew something else like a circle skirt

Are you just the perfect size for the obi? Or is the obi fitted to a person (because of the print)? Or is it the art in adjusting it just right?

So, as the kimono fabric is especially delicate and is not washed every time it is worn, is this the reason for the layers of undergarments?
Are the white cotton undergarments worn as a protective barrier layer?
I know that, historically, was how western women's dresses were worn even as recently as 100 years ago in some places.
The cotton undergarments would become soiled with sweat, perfumes and natural body oils and this protected the expensive and often delicate fabrics of dresses.
The cotton underskirts and undershirts would be regularly washed. Is it the same with the white cotton undergarments worn with kimono?

I have a request just for a random maybe new video for you, have you tried making a cover song? I listened to last summer whisper by Anri and her voice is very similar to yours!

Thank you so much for your order! I’m really sorry for the delay. It seems that Amazon is experiencing some shipping delays, and unfortunately, it’s out of our control.😭
I’ve heard that orders have started arriving, so I hope you’ll receive yours very soon. Thank you again for your patience and support-I truly appreciate it! ❤️

For thumbnail ..Just wanted to mention-‘wear’ is the correct word when talking about clothing. It should be ‘how to wear a kimono.’ Hope that helps!
