- In this series I build a hollow body jazz bass guitar
In memory of Jurgen Zoller (#iamjurgs) his friends in the Guitar Builders Collective have organised the Jurgen Zoller Honorary Challenge . A challenge to build a guitar using what you've got. Jurgs was a great guitar builder and was so supportive to amateur guitar builders like me, his sudden death was very sad.
In this episode I try to sort out the rather disjointed edge of the guitar.
My new novel, Entanglement is available on your local Amazon as a Kindle and paperback.

Cheers Dave - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
As usual, you notice the problem and you come up with the solution. That's one thing I love about your builds. As you say, making mistakes is a journey. Travel on, Dave. The next one is right around the corner waiting for you. Cheers!
Thank you. I hope you have a great Christmas! Cheers Dave
Dave, the binding will look great, but honestly the unmatched pieces really looked ok too. I really love the top and back shapes and color differences! its going to be a beautiful bass!
Thank you! I hope you have a great Christmas! Cheers Dave
Philosophy, carpentry and a Dave moment.....this video had it all.
I’m just really good at getting wrong 😂. Thank you for all your great comments. I hope you have a great Christmas, cheers Dave
Dave I really like that the Ash on the front reconnects to the Ash on the back it makes it flow as a more cohesive whole in my opinion. Yeah it might have been smother transition if it had been curved maybe but I do like the look of it kind of flowing from front to back on one side and then back up on the other.
Thank you. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas! Cheers Dave
Oh Dave, my heart breaks for you. So near but yet so far! A good recovery though. And your philosophy on life is bang on the money in my opinion. If you never fail you've never done ANYTHING!
Very true. Thank you for all your great comments! I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, cheers Dave
Coming along... and yes, it has the aura of a build by Ben Crowe, when he paints himself into corners time after time, and has to come up with ways out of it!
LIke teh binding idea, and i'm sure it will look great. My only other concern is that i cant help but wonder if this instrument is going to be very neck heavy, and want to dive when being played!
Hope not!
Thank you! I’m hoping that when all the pickups and bridge is installed it will balance, but we’ll see 🤔Cheers Dave
🤘💙👍
👍
I think the mahogany sides looked a little too thick to bend? Were they 2mm?
Perhaps nearer to 3mm I’m sure you are absolutely right. Thank you! Cheers Dave
still on episode 12 are you 😇
Oops, thanks! Cheers Dave
Dave the video is just Right .
and making mistakes is life.
some body asked Edison . it took over 1000 times to make a working electric light what did he learn?
Edison how not to make a electric light 1000 different ways.
Well put! Cheers Dave
IMHO you are still trying to bend wood that is too thick. Also IMO 80 deg C is a bit cold, isn't it? You need to be over 100 to generate some steam inside the wood. Alternatively, use thinner pieces and laminate, no?
I jumped the gun there, didn't I? I didn't know you had a hotter iron, LOL.
Yep, you got it right! Cheers Dave
I was analyzing your channel. Your content quality is perfect but your tag setup is not properly well. That's why you are not getting your result. You need a full SEO setup to grow your channel. If you want, I would like to make two of your videos for free SEO.
Thanks for the offer but I’m okay just now thank you. Cheers Dave
