  • I sat down with Dr. Tyler Hanak, a Clinical Treatment Supervisor at Cognitive FX (cognitivefxusa...) to discuss fNIRS, a cool new technology they're testing for treatment of people with concussions and other brain injuries. We also discussed other cool technology they're using at Cognitive FX, and what it means for their patients recovering from concussions.

Thank you for sharing your journey for recovery, I understand this is hard on so many levels, putting aside any ego for science. Still asking the best questions

Thank you for sharing your recovery. I have been going through Cervical Spondylosis for the past year, and your videos really do help. I came for the USB-C Iphone, I leave with life skills to help me throughout my life.

I remember watching the Ted talk about these. It's amazing that they're starting to enter the market.

Cool... I've only had EEG's, once lasting three frick'n days non stop. Now the three "daze" time was studying epilepsy, but still. I'm researching the latest TBI treatments for a variety of issues noted here. That's been a struggle speaking directly to neurologists locally. I hope you've fully recovered, and shop plus activity within has advanced further. Keep it all up, dude. 👍 ...also, EVERY doctors office/hospital/clinic MUST - by law - upon request provide patients with any or all part of their own medical records. I'm anal about collecting all mine, partly because of my own memory issues, partly because sometimes it's difficult to get doctors at different locations to find data of yesteryear... but most of all because I get a kick out of 3D printing my own innards, lol.

As a never had a concussion person, I see a normally functioning person who seems to have no problem conducting his life.
Its terrifying to think about how many of the people around have this exact problem, but nobody realizes it.

Glad to that limits of fNIRS were admitted (compared to alternatives). Seems controversial enough to tank certain funding applications that rely solely on it.

Awesome to see the advances in fNIRS. I did what I could to advance the FTNIR spectroscopy chemometrics side of the business and ease of application. Glad to see more applications with the hyperspectral imaging and fNIRS. I never worked on fNIRS in particular, though saw as the future back in the 2000's. Saddened in some ways not seeing the synthetic chemistry side of IR/NIR like I did see a realize working with microwaves. However, that's a whole issue that I'm guessing is related to the Havana Syndrome health assaults and battery's that maim, murder, etc. not justifiably. Probably issues in the ionizing range... though photochemistry is more well known from the synthetic chemistry world... and as you've experienced with the X-Rays and aware into the Gamma Rays. Amazing how those systems are more implemented on satellites more and more. Super awesome for medical devices applications as for improving and increasing health... super imminent threats from the perspective of malicious operations and the operators involved with the concealed wireless assault weapons sound, body and mind control transmissions effects. Last I was following like fNIRS was the OpenWater Company work. Will have to read into more what else is going on with the field. Would be awesome to see more of these electrode and non-contact systems price points brought down for more diagnostics work to improve systems capabilities.

This is so very fascinating! Wearable devices that can possibly scan your brain activity... I wonder how far will this tech come in the future. Or perhaps what this tech will this be applied to. Hoping that it does not just sit in the lab and reaches some of other appliances. So very cool.

Hi Strange Parts, I'm also both an engineer and more recently a mTBI patient -> survivor with similar symptomatology. What does Dr. Hanak mean by 'FNCA' || 'FNCA 2.0' @22:00 ?
Also, THANK YOU for these awesome videos! Your thoughts on devices to build here to manage priorities/switching of attention are something I've ran through numerous iterations, current implementation is a google form, super powerful. Also, I'm located in a heavy manufacturing center in France for the next couple months, and have connections... Could we chat? @Stranger Parts
