      Or maybe the father is a mysogynistic person and wouldn't fair well with a female judge. Or maybe the lawsuit is in her name and not his.
      There a multitude of reasons that man could be sitting down versus him facing the judge. What we all can see perfectly with zero speculation. He's There regardless of any previous statement.
      Basically taking responsibility for the kid just like the mother!

      @@MrBeevee5 You asked for it. First of all he said the red don't walk was flashing, and he thought he could make it. Implying that he had a yellow light when he started. In the video, cars started moving before he made contact with her vehicle, and he was moving fast, meaning that the light was probably red when he started running. Also the judge got him to admit that he didn't remember if the light was flashing, so when he said the light was definitely flashing, he was lying. Then the judge asked him if he posted anything on the internet about this incident, and he said he only posted a picture of himself in the hospital. He said that was it. They then showed his video. Another lie. Then the judge asks him to explain what I made that car my bitch, and he goes on to say: I probably meant. Another lie. He knows exactly what he meant, as he said it. The video shows that she had the green light for ages, before he ran into her car. This proves he was lying about trying to beat the light. He clearly ran AFTER the light turned red, as 2 cars went through the light before her. Another lie. Your welcome.

    I just got hit by a guy crossing a 6 lane road on a bicycle. While traffic was moving and he smashed by driver’s side window and door. The lady in the car next to me had to slam on her brakes so she wouldn’t hit him. She was my witness. The guy got back on his bike and road off.
    In my opinion the kid is totally responsible with no doubt in my mind.

    When I read the title of this video I was confused and ready to be on the side of the kid. I was thinking, "what do you mean you hit a kid with your car and are suing him for damage to the vehicle!" That sounds so ludicrous. I did not expect it to go that way at all. He is lucky to be alive and I sincerely hope he learns a valuable lesson and thinks in the future. Kudos to the mom for being so honest and admitting her son was at fault.

    It should not have been the deductible paying for it, as that is going to make that ladies insurance go up. The kids parents should pay it out of pocket for those damages. Now since that has passed those parent should have to pay the victim the offset of the insurance that has gone up.

  • @MrMagyar5

    Emotional damage can only be awarded if you can demonstrate that it cost you something. If you went to counseling, missed work due to elevated anxiety, etc.. You have to show damages from the emotional trauma. One of the big reasons for this is that a judge needs to quantify the damage in order for it to be just. You could say that you sat at home for 3 days and you should get 500,000 for emotional damages, but that's rather ridiculous. You didn't lose 500,000 in those 3 days of emotional distress.

  • @ingridrehkoph4239
    @ingridrehkoph4239 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    If Judge Judy awarded him money for emotional distress , the driver of the car would had to drop the lawsuit because she "won" in court. What JJ would give her , as per show allowed, would have been pennies or not enough to pay for therapy +. Also the judges have to evaluate how her day to day routine have been affected. A tape of the show is not enough to get into the details

  • @jerrywilliford6840

    100% agree that the kid was wrong. Strange that no one else commented on the fact that the car to the left of the teachers car reacted to the kids movement by suddenly applying the brakes as evidenced by it's brake light illuminating and the cars momentum rapidly slowing. Should have been a similar reaction by the teacher that something she could not see was occurring. Cant say for sure that would have prevented the impact, just something I observed.
