I find that different sized sockets make a great way to mount tires for sanding. 1/2” is perfect for the Salvinos JR racing tires.
Thanks! I had not thought of that and I have many sockets!
Sockets from a 1/4” drive socket set.
Aw man! You stole my invention! 😁 Just kiddin.
Thanks for this video Raoul, showing all the Modelhaus tyres with the numbers is extremely helpful.
My pleasure! It's funny but I was working on this video (research) when you mentioned you needed tires for your Grand Prix.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler I ordered some of those tyres this week, look forward to getting them..... It'll take a while to get across the pond lol.
Great subject of talking about tires and the details . That's very interesting ,my friend !👏👏👏🥇🏆👍
Thanks 👍!
Here is what I use to strip paint. th-cam.com/video/GgtdhoqcMLw/w-d-xo.html
Those circle templates are great. I've done whitewalls the same way. I didn't know they made the Gelly Roll pens in other colors.
Thanks.
Nice job on the small, fine details!! If I ever get building again I'll try to remember some of these tips...
Thank you!
Thank you very much for your video on how you do your tires. Great Builds on your Models
Glad you like them!
You make it look so easy
Thanks. Have done many tires!
It seems nowadays round2 has the pad printed stuff and Revells are just smooth sided. Granted most of my collection is old kits, always left them black wall because I was always trying to use enamels appreciate the insight. Thanks for sharing.
Some of the newest Revell are pad printed also!
Great info and detail work, have a great weekend my friend
Thanks, you too!
Great video. Those Model Haus tires look awesome. Thanks for all the info. Ron
Thanks 👍
Cool video, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks again for a great inspiring video. What do you use to clean the mold release off the tires with before painting? Have you tried Acrylic paint pens like Posca?
Thanks! Most of the time I just wipe off the tires and don't really wash them.
That is freaking awesome dude
Thank you!
Thank you so much for making this video, I requested this sometime back so huge thank you!!!
Thank you for the suggestion. I had been asked a few times for this!
Very cool tutorial Raoul!
Thank you!
@@TheMuscleCarModeler your welcome
Super tutorial! The only tip I could share is using Tamiya Rubber, it works great. Thanks!
I’m not familiar with Tamiya Rubber.
@@TheMuscleCarModeler It is a rattle can spray made by Tamiya.
You make that look so easy
Thanks!
Use an ordinary socket from a socket wrench set. You should be able to find a size match for your tires. Harbor Freight and Home Depot have what you need to put in your drill. Thanks for your videos!
Thanks for the tip!
Awesome Tutorial.. Thanks for sharing have a safe weekend buddy
Thanks, you too!
I like the Gel pens, been using paint pens myself. Nice "How to" video!!
Awesome! Thank you!
That's cool. I have a gel pen myself, but this brand seems to be working better on vinyl than the one I have. Gonna try to remember the name, or, I can always come back to this vid. As for it not rubbing off with handling, I know that Chris, at HPIguysworkshop put some matt clear on his tires after the gel ink dries on the tires.
Thanks. I bought new pens about a year ago because they didn't seem to work as well as they used to. I do think they age and the new ones are the same brand and work way better. I may have to try the flat clear but I do the tires last and once mounted I try not to touch them.
Nice vid, thanks for sharing!! 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for watching!
Great video! Any idea which Modelhaus tires fit on newer Revell wheels (specifically in the 68 Firebird?). The AmT redline tire parts pack tires have too big an opening for the Revell wheels. The Revell opening is 9/16” and I need some redlines for the Firebird. I had trouble with the redline decals and my JellyRoll attempt didn’t look good enough.
Thanks! This is a hard question to answer. The Revell 68 Firebird has a weird wheel set up. The outer wheel is a bit small, and it fits inside the wheel back. The kits tire is hollow. I have not built that kit yet, but I have three of them. I took one out and tried some of my Modelhaus Red line tires. Try # 545 red for this one. www.modelhaustires.com/collection/545-red It fits the outer wheel nicely and the overall tire size is nice for the Firebird body. The wheel back will need to be slimmed down to fit inside this tire. That should be pretty easy to do. This is what I would do or find other wheel backs that will work from the parts box.
I use 1/4 drive deep sockets usually 7/16, 10mm attached to a short extension in my cordless Ryobi drill
That’s a good way to sand the tread. Thanks!
Awesome Tutorial!!! I need to buy some gel pens.. I've always used acrylic paint method!!!! Pens looks much easier!!!
Thank you! They work great!
Great video brother you ever try to dull cost after paint?
Thank you and no I haven't.
I have never seen those Belly Roll pens. Where do you get them? (If you said and I missed it, I apologise.)
I got mine from Hobby Lobby.
Where did you buy the white gel paint pens and what size did you get them? Any help would be cool, thank you!
I got them at Hobby Lobby and I also got some from Micheals.
I don't see anything in the modelhaus link for the scale sizes for their tires and wheels ?
You may have to email them. If you click on each tire. There is a description but most don’t help much. For me, I have bought a few and try them on my projects. I also keep a list of what I bought and what I used it on. That helps me for future builds.
I was thinking of contacting them thanks
Great video on tires thanks!
Glad you liked it!
That is a template, not a ruler. Great tip on using it
Thank you! I missed that!
Awesome , thanks for sharing .
Thanks for watching!
nice tip... thanx for sharing...
Thank you!
Where can i get the white paint pen
Check with your local craft store. Micheal’s or Hobby Lobby.
Great video thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Working under magnification also helps a lot. If it looks good magnified, it'll look perfect without it.
I have been thinking about getting one.
Thx so much great ideas!!
You are so welcome!
great tutorial, thank you.
Thank you!
We're do you get the tire rule.
I got it at Hobby Lobby. It’s a Circle Template Stencil.
this is helpful - thanks!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you
Welcome!
Where do I get that white pen?
Usually at a craft store. I have seen some at Hobby Lobby but got mine at Micheal's.
I'm trying to find p245/60R15 3/4 in white wall and p295/50R15 3/4 in white wall
Sorry, Not much help there. Try Fireball Modelworks. He does some tires as well. fireballmodels.info/
OMG! You're like a lighthouse showing the way for a disoriented modeler. Thanks.
I like how you worded that! Thanks!
We’re do you get new car bodies when you just want to start new on the main body
I'm not sure what you mean? If I mess up a paint job. I'll just strip it and start over or throw it in the box!
@@TheMuscleCarModeler it was my first one a 1971 Plymouth hemi cuda 426 and I messed up and want it to be as good as I can get it
@@ventgoblin8080 you can strip it with Castrol Super Clean, soak it for a few days, scratch it up if clear coated, enamel comes off easier than lacquer does
@@garyslentzii2796 where can you find that and how much is it because I have brake fluid and it isn't working that well so I have been using sand paper and I don't know what grit it is
@@ventgoblin8080 . . Any parts store like Pep Boys, Auto Zone, Advance Auto, it is in a Purple bottle, about $8.00, last time I got it it was BOGO deal. You will hear guys saying purple power or the purple pond, zip it up in plastic bag and put in a container. Can be reused over and over
Cool how to bro
Thanks!
Woooweee!
Yes!
