After 25 years of trying to clean the mud/snow/detritus from the vehicles I used in the army, it pains me when I intentionally add these elements of "truth" to my models. Thank you for the variety of effects possible.
This is one of the best videos on TH-cam teaching weathering. Everything in this video can also be carried over into weathering stairs, the body of an off-road truck or military vehicles, a path near a stream, war-torn areas that is muddy or dirty...the possibilities are endless. You might need to tweak a step here or there, but I keep coming back whenever I want to weather something in my hobby. Thank you, coldemonspl.
Finally! A very detailed explanation for those getting into the hobby. Thank so much for this amazing video! You're a top modeller and have super teaching skills!
Excellent. Certainly the best I've seen on how to weather rubber tyres. Definately some ideas there that I will use in upcoming builds. Thank you for these hints.
@COLDEMONSpl good video! I was finishing assembling MATV and was looking for good ideas for dry dust / mud tires technique. And this video is helping, greetings from Lithuania 🇱🇹!
@coldemonspl Hi Lukasz! A great video on weathering wheels and tires, which is an area that I tend to shortcut a little. However, your videos show us that there are no shortcuts to a good result. I have learnt a lot watching your builds and ‘how to’ videos. Keep them coming my friend, and greetings from Australia 🇦🇺!
Coldemonspl nice tutorial :) Well explained and shown , even a beginner can understand it . Also nice to see the different technics you use . Thanks for sharing mate. It was very interesting Well done Coldemonspl !! Have a great week and bench time . Take care Coldemonspl
Great tutorial Cold Dude, got me a Thunder Model Scammell Pioneer SV/2S "BEAST" me thinks this will come in useful! Started but not quite finished a tamiya quad gun tractor its going to be desert fasion (DUNE) so I cut a few chunks out of the wheels/tyres were rocks had cut into them and sanded some sides down to simulate rubbing on said rocks, the efect was rather smart if I may say so! Stay safe n well Dude. TFS, GB :)
@coldemonspl thank you for these instructive how to videos. I'm just getting into the weathering side of modelling so really appreciate all the help and showing the products used. I'm just now learning to use my airbrush more effectively too and experimenting with different camo styles (hard/soft edge ect.) Previously I always sprayed free hand and had overspray on almost every model. Any chance of you doing a how to airbrush with ak real colors video in the future please? Keep doing what your doing, fantastic work and stay safe. P.S I'm going to membership up as soon as I get paid as your by far the best model channel I have found.
Thank you very much for your comment! I try to share my knowledge and experience in my videos. About AK RC you need to check my other videos where I use them. :) And in the future I will probably make some video with using RC colors only - just for beginners. :) cheers!
@@coldemonspl thank you for replying. Tomorrow whilst building models I will look through your videos. Really enjoying them all so far. Look forward to your future videos.
I liked your idea on weathering how ever could you please provide me with the full name of the pigments as well as the website. I would like to try some please.
I know im a newbie, and im sorry for the next question, but can somebody tell me what he s using to place the tires on the sticks so he can easily work on them? i saw this on various parts at different people. Is it glue or is it something else? And if its glue, isnt after hard to get rid of the stain or to de-attach the part from it? Thank you!
Oh yes, the tires on the sticks are easy to operate during the painting and weathering. I don't glue them - they have small holes for the stick. Hope it helps :)
@@coldemonspl oh it def helps! Thank you! But for tires that comes from the kit w/o special holes, do you recommend a way to stuck the parts/tires/figures onto sticks so it can be much easy to paint and handle them? Thanks!
