If you do an EVGA build, you absolutely need to get a custom etched glass case panel so you can side-light "4090 FTW3". Use it a bit, but ultimately show it as a centerpiece for your collection. That's an awesome gift to have received, the end of an era and loss of a mighty warrior on the GPU battlefield.
That’s super cool that they were able to provide you with that additional VBIOS and software that they didn’t have to make, since the audience of only small handful of people isn’t going to make a difference and they aren’t going to need it for future products. Clearly those guys really loved what they did and were so proud of their work that they wanted to make sure their final work got presented in the best light. It’s just a shame it has the engineering sample silicon that’s never as strong as the retail versions.
I feel there's more underlying conditions as to why EVGA stopped making GPUs. More than likely their manufacturing costs to profit was so low there wasn't any point.
There is almost no profit in GPUs for AIBS at this point. The cost of R&D, Board making, custom bios etc, simply isnt worth making a card that is anything more then 50-150$ per card more expensive then what the Founders card is for NVIDIA. AMD cards really arent that much different as their reference has been within that 1-5% range which for most people is imperceptible. Look at the 3000 series disaster at the end with 3090s and 3090tis, they lost so much $ on them because the priced tanked (thankfully for us) but NVidia still charged them full price for them, and only gave a slight rebate on the lost cost. That razor thin margin is simply not enough to make GPUS a worthwhile endeavor other then just wanting your name out there and market share.
@@ShimejiiGaming i don't know about that - the top end gpus were way overpriced for 2 years due to scalping so i think they all made serious bank. And the problem is really with nvidia selling founders cards and binning them for themselves, limiting partners designs so they don't compete too well etc. etc.
I'd love to see it. While us AMD people have awesome manufacturers like Sapphire, EVGA stepping foot in the AMD GPU scene would give some serious competition to manufacturers like Sapphire, XFX, PowerColor, etcetera, and more competition only results in better and cheaper products.

I ABSOLUTELY want that EVGA tribute system! 👀
100% would love to see the EVGA tribute system!
An EVGA build with the "not 4090" mounted vertically as a showcase/working display would be awesome!
I got upset a lot during the 3000 series reviews of cards because I couldn't get one. But for this I'll say you deserve that card. I wish I could have one too, but you're the one that put in years and years of work to rise to the top of your industry to be at the place to get something special back for it like this one of a kind card. So I don't think any of us can fault you for it, you should be proud of that card. P.S. Please do not melt the power plug on it. I think we will all be mad at you if that happens.
@8:11 I thought I was crazy till the background hiss when Jay talked stopped and then started again haha. Great vid though.
8:16 when you're watching the video and listening to Jay, but notice without cue, the bad pixels on his monitor 🤣
I'd like the EVGA system, I'm a EVGA fan since i was a kid... I like their no-nonsense approach to making products
So yeah - more vids on a gpu we can’t have . Thanks Steve I mean jay
Yes, we need that all EVGA Tribute build!!
As if it's even a question wether people want to see the EVGA tribute system.
100% yes dude!
Check out RX-10 voice denoise to fix that noise pumping problem every time Jay talks and your compressor pushes the audio up with the noise. He sounds like a faucet is turning on every time there's an audio dip and then talks.
100% would like to see a EVGA build.
They made DDR4 also, my system (8700k with 2 EVGA SC2 hybrid 1080ti’s) has had 32gb of their super clocked ram in it for the last 5 years.
I like how gpuz spilled the beans...you can see it registered as a 4090
oh boy the noise cancelling using the ac , the rustle is weird af 🤨🤨🤨🤨
It would be great to see that full EVGA build with the not 4090!
Yes, do the tribute system, would nice, plus it would be great for your glory wall for EVGA.
Yes, please build an EVGA tribute system.
Yep it wouldn't be a J2C work place without an EVGA tribute PC somewhere in there! Perfect.
Still amped that they gave you that card. Even more so that they got you a 600w VBIOS. You should ABSOLUTELY do a tribute build. Case needs to be custom, though. Make it look like a tombstone or coffin and really set off the card as a centerpiece.
HHHEEELLL YYYEEEAAAHHH!!! Give us an EVGA FAN BOY BUILD! You have to do a custom EVGA cutout in the side panel.
I’m not alone about an EVGA complete system. Good video!
I too would love to see an EVGA Tribute build!
FunFact @Jay: EVGA even made a 2 16GB DDR4 Kits (4X4 and 2X8)!
You know what would be sick, to see EVGA get into the water cooling side of PCs. We need another option outside of EK that can compete with them.
The EVGA tribute system would be an amazing set piece!
Do a caseless wall mount EVGA build in the center of your shrine with the other cards mounted all around it
You need to build an EVGA tribute system with the E1 Frame!
