I won both a 27 year old Rolex Datejust and a recently acquired Pagani exactly like this one only in S/S. So far, I am VERY impressed with the Pagani. It's running about +4 secs/day, has already weathered quite a few hot showers, and a couple of bangs against things with no issues. Time will tell, but I gotta say, it's a lot of bang for the buck. It's kind of nice to not worry about ruining what would be a $10,000 watch new. Call me cheap, call me frugal... as much as I love my Rolex, at current price levels, I'll never buy another one (unless I win the lottery, lol)
@@ChrisDraussen I will add the Daytona is the worst performer. The hour and minute hands are weak in brightness through the night and become difficult to see. The Sub and Aquaracer are perfectly usable, not super bright but you can see the time easily👍

I have the stainless steel version of this. I like the watch and it gets a lot of compliments. I have had a few issues with mine though, worst of these issues is the fact I can not change the date anymore (this happened at about six months). The other weird thing is the screwed links can unscrew, which has happened while wearing the watch a few times. The clasp too was so sharp edged and unpleasant, I ended up using a file to make the edges smoother. But I still like the watch, wear it almost everyday!
@@GP-jx3ex That's why i prefer pins, at least in the cheap chinese watches, because screws is a lottery. I don't wanna fear that my watch will take a fall out of the blue...
I always put a little dab of blue Loctite on the screws of cheaper watches (and knives) when I receive them. I've had too many screws come out in the past, even from "better" brands. You have to unscrew each screw one at a time, put the Loctite on the threads, and screw them back in. The Loctite keeps them from working loose, but can still be unscrewed if needed.
Jody have you looked into Festina watches? I bought a couple (F-20445-1 and F-20461-2) for $80 and $56 respectively. Great review. It really does make you think deeply about what you’re really getting with a Rolex. Sure, the name and superlative quality and qc . But for $13k v $70? Outrageous really.
Mmm very nice. I share the same concern about brassing on the case side/crown/ bezel over time from handwinding. 40mm is still too big for my 6.5" wrist, and if the Pagani fits like other Chinese-made homage, the edges & corners of the clasp are going to cut everything they brush into. Which is probably why I'll stick with my "inferior" Invicta 28732: gold-plated SS, 38mm case, Seiko quartz movt (for the accuracy & no need to handwind/risk perpetual brassing). But good review! I'm glad there are still companies putting out gold-plated homages since $50k is a steep price to pay for a fashion accent.
I have the gold n blue. Just the cheap bling I was after. Is it possible that the “solid” links are hollow? I know they’re not folded but they really don’t weigh much at all compared with links from other watches, so I don’t know how they can be solid.
That blue gold model looks surprisingly good! Then again I like that particular combination, so I'm biased. I wonder how San Martin would execute a gold "Sub."

Jody, you're a bad influence lol. I just bought one of these after your other Pagani video. Pleasantly surprised, though my crown is really screwy. After pulling it out, when I push it back in it springs back out unless I push really hard on it. I'm guessing they didn't install the stem completely right - it does work in each position but when setting the time it acts up. I dunno, anyone else who had a Pagani with an issue have any recommendation? I just received it yesterday so not sure if they'll ask me to ship it back (seems like it will be ages before I get it back if I do).
my one major complaint on this one is the coining on the bezel isnt real "deep" or as pronounced as the watch its homaging. Im all in on deep bezel coining when it comes to these chinese homages. San Martin seems to have gotten it right on theirs.
Again, Pagani puts in the "standard" six-notches caseback, instead of a Rolex replica one. I like this solution: homages always risk to taste like fake, the more you get away from the original, the better (note: my personal opinion, my personal taste, YMMV and that's perfectly fine).

Pagani is apparently planning to come out with a few 40mm stainless Subs soon, which I'm thrilled for. Right now, they only have the gold ones, the black, the black with blue bezel, and the blue fade. However, the store told me they'll be doing a bunch more soon. But for those rare occasions in which a sports watch would come in handy, I just ordered an all black Pagani GMT with that cool green hand. That should do the trick for quite a while...
Thanks for introducing the brand to me!
How do you get them delivered within 19 billion months? My GMT left China mid August, I think someone is rowing his merry way to Perth with it.
Probs premium shipping.
You have to use DHL or EMS. China Post often takes 6-8 weeks.
Mine arrived in Perth 5 weeks! DHL only next time...
Thanks for the Oregon shout out!
Love that shirt. Though, we are now on fire here in Oregon...
Can it be true ... that you hold there in your mortal hand ... a watch of the purest GREEN !
pablo rages - Yes Lord Percy!
Well, it’s more of a splat, really...
Don't steal from me😎😄
@@JeeGee114 ... you are an utter burke !
Is this the maxi case ?
Nice video Thank you Jody.
my one major complaint on this one is the coining on the bezel isnt real "deep" or as pronounced as the watch its homaging. Im all in on deep bezel coining when it comes to these chinese homages. San Martin seems to have gotten it right on theirs.
Just bought this Pagani Black and gold for AU $39.72 So Happy!!!
I ordered this pd1661 hulk and the newer ones dont have the explorer written and the strap is all brushed which i really like.
Nice video Jodi. Consider having a look at Phylida next time you are browsing aliexpress. They seem to have quite a few decent looking homage watches.
Again, Pagani puts in the "standard" six-notches caseback, instead of a Rolex replica one. I like this solution: homages always risk to taste like fake, the more you get away from the original, the better (note: my personal opinion, my personal taste, YMMV and that's perfectly fine).
I wonder how long the coating will last?
Gold coatings never look good IMO
@@gilbertoflores7397 it's just not for me. I've never seen a gold coating that actually could pass for gold and they always look off to me.
Gold on the centre links of the bracelet can look good.
@@robertlindo8058 yes, so tempted to get one for the Alpinist: www.strapcode.com/collections/replacement-band-for-seiko-alpinist/products/metal-ss-bcl20-pgd065
Have a couple Pagani D . Not gold ,just not my taste, but quality is of a high level , following the brand about 7 years , was never disappointed.
Nikasil wolfram ?? Like Diastar Rado or bling bling mafioso guns ???
Pagani is apparently planning to come out with a few 40mm stainless Subs soon, which I'm thrilled for. Right now, they only have the gold ones, the black, the black with blue bezel, and the blue fade. However, the store told me they'll be doing a bunch more soon. And they hinted at brushed center-links, which I'm really happy about. I feel like polished center links on a stainless sub cheapen the watch.
@@gilbertoflores7397 Do you have a link? :0
Look amazing for the price. I wonder how long that gold plating will hold up?
all brushed maybe, how much would the seiko movement cost to fit inside of 70 big ones
