It’s just that they seem completely oblivious to how the Spurs manager is looking to play the game, and that Hojbjerg doesn’t fit into that high energy high press game. I’m not a Spurs fan btw, very much the neutral
Hojberg has been okay but that's not good enough in this day and age. He sometimes played lovely passes but not enough, and the only consistent thing about his game is he gave the ball away far too many times.

Agreed but he is still a far better player than a lot of the tosh we still have at the club, Royal, Gil, Davies, Lo Celso. Hojberg is a solid and reliable player. We are going backwards in this window.

Hojbjerg was essentially sold, there are squad registration rules to adhere to (can't keep everyone), Arteta basically nixed the Toney move, and I'm surprised Ambrose didn't say "that Williams fella of Spain looked pretty good, that's who I'd go for".

He’s an average to decent premier league footballer who was a good servant for the club. Ambrose’s analysis is a bit weird. He’s not marmite to spurs fans at all, we all know he’s done well but limited… he can’t play Ange’s football… this is such a perfect deal it makes me wonder what these two know about football to be talking like this.

I disagree, Ange obviously appreciates his quality off the bench, but he doesn't fit the system as a starter.
He’s can’t pass forwards and that’s quite important when you’re trying to score a goal
Reports have been saying that he wants to leave since before Ange joined the club, and he doesn't suit Ange's style of play. He was never going to get past Bissouma or Sarr into the first team regularly, and Gray is clearly going to get game time this season. Hojbjerg is just taking up room in the squad, and we always run close to the non-homegrown player limits, so selling him makes sense. Same with Lo Celso now that Bergvall is in.
I actually love him he’s one of our best midfield players better than Bissouma, Sarr & Bentancur. Spurs fans will miss him more than they realize.

Explain why you think this. Hojbjerg is sloppy has mistakes in him. The players you mentioned do too but not as much they have better dribbling abilities than hojbjerg though which suits the style of play that Tottenham are playing now. Defensively it's better to have sarr and bentancur in the team the 3 midfield players you mentioned have put in great performances I think bissouma got like 3 man of the match performances in a row or something like that hojbjerg has never done that

Obligation to buy.. he wouldn’t sign a new contract because he wants more game time. We have sold him for roughly what we paid for him, so it’s a fair deal. I’ll miss him, he’s a decent player.

Haven’t troubled yourself to learn about the details of the loan. It’s to balance Marseille’s books. Not ours. There is an obligation to buy. They are buying him but loaning for the first year.
I don't know what we are playing at, we have a worse squad than Villa and seem to be pinning our hopes on a couple of kids (Bergvall and Archie Gray) I don't have any hope for the coming season depressing being a Spurs fan and knowing that nothing changes until Levy/ENIC leave and that ain't happening.

@@harrycallahan6623 Bissouma who was great in the first 10 games last season and very inconsistent after his red card at Luton. Hopefully Archie Gray can offer some competition there and Ange and the club have additional plans for the position.

@@harrycallahan6623 Bissouma was our CDM anyway and was ahead of Hojbjerg in the pecking order. Hojbjerg was on the bench being a sub most of last season.
Gray is also there now and hes easily good enough to be out CDM.

Bentancurs injury seems to have affected him. Hes a shell of the same player. If he doesnt get up to speed quickly hes out of the team imo
Bissouma the same, looked excellent in the 1st 8 games, after that he was non existant.
The player wants to leave, seems Ange system doesn't suit his style of play.
So we want the club to support the manager, the manager doesn't want him but Darren thinks the club should keep him against the managers wishes

Spurs don’t play with a traditional dm ange prefers his midfielders to do it all they have bissouma. Sarr. Gray. Bentancur. Skipp and keep an eye on bergvall kid has bags of talent. They need a back up for Maddison and a striker and a think spurs will be good to go.
