  • DUCATI Just Revealed INSANE 750 Super Sport Engine Rebuild (Part 1)
In this video, we take you along the complete disassembly and inspection of a 1975 Ducati 750 Super Sport engine. Harné explains the process in every single detail which is why this is our longest video to date at almost 2 hours!
A lot of things need to be addressed on this engine. Many parts have now been shipped of for chrome plating, zinc plating or aqua blasting. Once they are back in our workshop, we will start the engine rebuild which will be covered in the second part of this video series.
Should you have any questions about our restoration services, parts, or anything else you might need advice on, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Having owned a 1978 Desmo SS, I am one of the few people who have been inside a tower shaft desmo engine. Loosening the nuts and bolts that can be accessed while the engine is still in the frame shows experience. Working on these motors without the factory service tools is silly. Unfortunately, allowing an automotive designer to put his touch on the beautiful organic quality of the original 750SS crankcase covers with the resulting "square" look was a mistake! Yes the support plate required new cases but a more faithful design could have prevailed. As a human being I am inspired by your shop and your commitment to providing quality work. Thank you.

Very instructive, going in details and explanations. Helps a lot in understanding how these bevel engines are made and function. Thank you!

Very interesting thanks. All being well I'll be dropping my 750GT off in August for you to do something similar.

Expert work and commentary! I wonder about the original valve seats, will they be damaged by modern fuels? Or in 1975 were they already suitable for unleaded? In the USA modern E15 fuels are horrible. The obvious solution is to use only non-ethanol gasoline.

I would guess that the camshaft end caps have been changed because the originals were drilled for an oil cooler, so maybe the engine has been raced? I wonder why they drilled the clutch plates? Obviously someone trying to stop clutch slip.

An interesting disassembly for sure. Unfortunately, this is what you find most of the time with mechanical systems that have had a life before you got to it. There's always some cave man who has been in there before, with a hammer!
