Thank you for sharing your journey, it was super inspiring! This story is a prime example of how the common creative career tips can be used in practice: 1) Try something new (leave comfort zone). 2) Show your work to others (online, offline). 3) Don't be afraid to reach out (feedback, mentors). 4) Lean into your limitations (uniqueness, authenticity).

Very nice talk! Also very relateable what with the anxiety of meeting new and talented people.

Helpful video, I've seen his website before he has some really nice photos. Nice to see someone who feels nervous about social interaction break through it.

Great talk, and I really relate since I used photography to help overcome shyness. This motivates me to push outside of my comfort zone and try new things in my shooting and editing in a way simply looking at good work has not. I also left a comment on Liam's insta to maybe join a shoot one day. You never know til you ask, right?

Amazing photos - are they actual real photos or are they manipulated to get all those amazing neon colors? lighting makes or breaks a photo. Do you just walk the streets for hours and hours until you find somewhere with stunning lighting? Or do you cheat and take your own lighting with you to compose the shot you have designed? Or do you use coloured filters to get these stunning effects?

I'm a year late and not this guy, but I have enough experience to say those aren't the "real" colors.
Most photographers use Lightroom and Photoshop to adjust the colors and lighting in their photos. He also mentions at one point that he started bringing "gels" -- LED lights that can change color -- to his photoshoots. The camera itself is also quite powerful in making colors pop!

I hope some of you can give me an answer i know that i want to becomr an art director one day. Is a bachelors degree really necessary for that? I have already 3 years grafic design and animation education on my belt. Bit now is the question do i need an bachelor degree which would either be another 3 years or a lot of money. I dont know what since it says evrywhere you have to have at least a bachelor

His voice is kinda cracking like he's about to start crying at any moment. His level of nervousness was probably off the charts!

Great talk, but I really prefer to do things alone, work with people in my country implies lose opportunities.

you wont get anywhere if you cant work with people. flat out. if you cant work with someone close to you in your region why would any prospective business partner / employer think that you can work in a team at all?

    • @AFChannelX
      @AFChannelX 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@smonkk8556 Well, work with people that only want share their own visions and can't follow one single line could modify the final product.
I know that team work is much better to get things done, but I cannot find the right persons to do the work.
      But I promise I'll do it...as soon as I can xD .

I pushed through the mouth noises because this talk was interesting but please, please, please can nervous people remember to drink water? The audible strains to swallow are very irritating despite the content.

Well we have lots of things in mind at that moment. I personally have in mind lots of different ways to explain something at certain moment so tend to mix words and explanations and people ends really confused. It's a funny thing though but it keeps my head constantly thinking and worried about mistakes because I'm scared of people's judgement.
The public is a constant menace and we keep thinking they care about our actions, our look, etc. Even though most of the time we are the only ones that care about that and they are just paying attention to the information.
So try to put in our position now, (and if we ever remember that drinking water is a thing) stopping for a while in front of a crowd, waiting for us while they watch how we drink some water. I could think about some possible mistakes that will increase the attention to me so I tend to not to do such actions when I know a crowd is looking at me.
But everyone's mind is different so I'm sure other people is dealing with completely different things during a talk.
Now I just laugh with them at my own mistakes, that helped me a lot and got used to keep messing up things. But yeah we need to remember to drink water more often.

@@ronin8926 I already talked to the speaker. Five months ago. I know you're trying to be kind here but you sound kinda presumptuous, if that's the word. I have autism and misophonia, if I could be more resilient to certain noises I'd have made that choice years ago for my own wellbeing. I was being jocular in the original comment and it missed the mark, but I already explained myself to the person who I actually didn't anticipate seeing the comment anyway.
