I think as far as spoken word is concerned, Rudy is the best to ever do this. His writing style is as plain as a raw conversation but still finds a perfect way to incorporate poetic devices. Rudy's poetry feels a lot like he is qouting scripture 🙏💯❤️

Rudy is obviously one of my favorites but I'm deep into it so it can be hard to name just one person. Andrea Gibson would make my list, so would Rachel McKibbens. I asked another member of the Button Team and they said honorable mention to Good Ghost Bill.
If I had to pick an all time favorite today I might tap Oz though. We have a few of his videos up but his peak is a little before we really get going.
If you're not familiar with their work two of Rudy's inspirations and mentors were Shihan Van Cleef (who we do not have video of unfortunately but it is out there) and Javon Johnson.

Rudy, thank you for all of your speeches. Like, you find ways to express yourself in a great, inspiring and easy way like no one else ever could. You make me feel understood and kinda love life despite all its flaws, and all the difficulties. I actually have been accepting things as they are, keeping a positive energy while leaving negative thoughts behind me. Life’s great! And so are you Rudy! I know you’re never gonna see this but never stop what you’re doing. We needed that right now.
Also other parts from some of my favourite speeches of yours are:
