I know I don't post enough on here, my apologies :,O For my other social media presence: linktr.ee/beetlerat
For those of you who don't know me or who would like more details on the situation:
I am an animator, creator of webcomic series "Theratpy", and this was my first year making almost all of my money off of my own artwork! The IRS has hit me with a huge amount due for my business taxes, enormous enough that to pay it on my own it will take years to pay off. I'm filing for an extension to give myself more time, but the stress of the debt is insane! When I needed to save for top surgery, it took me nearly three years to save this amount, and they're asking for it in less than a month.
Anything you're able to give is a godsend, even just sharing this with others, reblogging/retweeting/sharing anywhere you found this link, would really mean the world. I just want to make artwork for you guys. Thank you for reading! -Mel
Shout out Sunny Haven who put up the rest like, 4 hours ago at time of writing this comment. It's nice watching internet strangers do kindness towards each other
I've been in shock about it for the last couple hours since I saw it :,)) I love my community so so much, I feel so lucky. Oh my gosh
America, fack yea, the best country you can possibly live in.
Underrated comment
awwww, so glad you got our message! I hope you know just how much we love you!
Sincerely;
The FBI Handler of this account :)
"we know exactly how much you made but we'll make you file your own taxes, and if you make a mistake..." Uncle Sam
Me when you have to calculate your own taxes, and the govt wont just send you a monthly bill
You seem to have a terminal case of being an American citizen; I recommend a quick, one time treatment of moving to Canada (or Denmark, Denmark is pretty good too. One of the best I’ve heard.)
HOLY HECK- I am glad this was helped
Not sure if this is still relevant but if you call the IRS you can set up a payment plan where you only pay 100 a month even.
I wish I could remember what this profession is called but I was told there's a type of person you go to when you're in trouble with the IRS and they helped negotiate a settlement so you don't have to pay the IRS the first amount they gave
are you for realll noooooo :c
irs try not to ruin society challenge (impossible)
… is that a pitched down version of REVIVED by Derivikat? If not, the instrumentation is really, really similar. May I ask what the original audio was?
It’s actually DESPERATE from NEFFEX. Had to find it 😅
@@baileycarter5141 Huh. The sound is waaay too similar for the REVIVED comparison to not be apt, so maybe Derivikat sampled DESPERATE? I mean, it is non-copyrighted, so sampling it would be likely.
REAL
Poor you, honestly. But I hope you can get out of this situation soon, creator.
I'm a little saddened about your situation, and I hope everything gets alright.
You're not alone. We're here for you. Here's a little emoticon: ( T_T)\(^-^ )
This is both hilarious and awful, hilarious only because I got put in the exact same spot and at some point you kind of have to laugh or you'll go insane :') The IRS is literally why I no longer support myself as a freelance artist. This country doesn't want creative people to thrive. :/
im poor folk :(
How does this even happen?
In america, people are not told how much they owe in taxes. And are forced to do it themselves. The government knows just doesn't tell you. Kind of s***** system LOL
For me, moving to a different city and not keeping good tax records caused the IRS to stop believing I was who I said I was (despite having normal documentation like my birth certificate etc). After a couple years attempting to pay taxes and being told my filed tax papers had been destroyed by the government I gave up for awhile. Wen I finally filed I owed over 10k for being late even though obviously the government collects taxes out of my wages.
Idk what happened here, but if you freelance and your don't pay taxes quarterly, you can easily overspend money that was supposed to be taxed.
Another issue is that if you're not working for someone else, the IRS charges you "extra" taxes that are meant to cover the social security and a couple other things that you're not paying into through your employer. The thing is, these taxes ARE NOT covered by the standard deduction, so if you're living below the poverty line, they don't give a shit, and will charge you full price for them anyway even if you don't owe a thing on normal income taxes.
Most people who start earning their own money through creative work (like me!) do not know about this trap until it's too late, and the IRS is... uh... a bit rude about it.
