I am very impressed with what Storm Collectibles has produced so far. So much I plan on collecting both their Mortal Kombat and street fighter lines. They simply look wayyy too good to pass up.
the eyebrow thing is accurate to the in game model too, it's always been that way with Ryu and Ken having "extreme eyebrows", it's basically part of the charm and style of street fighter since two
Grandmaster Popo its not just the beafy body but look at the ugly face. Sorry, but I like the old animated version much well. The new street fighter games have all these ugly beafy characters which looks like they are some failed experimental subjects who got hit by gamma radiation.
For the first time, instead of just sticking to one brand, I think I'll be getting BOTH Storm Collectibles and Figuarts Street Fighter toys. They both have their own style, and to me their specific styles are beautiful and fun in their own way that it's worth having them together. I really wish the Storm Collectibles version were more in the size of Figuarts, but the final product is just so good I don't really mind the bigger size that much.
This was my 1st storm street fighter fig recently, i got a ton of mk figs and now am on the street fighter ones..and this is a great way to start, he ignited a fire in me to collect more s.f from storm.
This is a very good start for the line, and the comparison with NECA is very adequate in many regards. They're very fairly priced, but at the same time I feel like they're not very dynamic enough (the awkward hadoken pose is especially telling) and they're meant for being very good display pieces in slightly dynamic poses. Of course I'm talking about the SF characters, since Scorpion/Sub-Zero are capable of more.
Didn't even know about this line until now. Was gonna get the S.H. Figuarts Ryu for the same price, but this one looks way better. Went ahead and preordered Bison and Ken too while I was at it. Bison in particular looks like he's gonna be a phenomenal figure for the price point. Thanks for letting us know just how awesome of a figure this Ryu is, Anthony!
Great demo One of my favorites from your library, Very cool figure Shading articulation Love the Gray suit Not very fond of the phase changing Wish they would just have done headswops And would have hit that ball out of the park I recently bought Capcom Street Fighter IV Ryu Action Figure No complaints here.........looking to buying Jada Toys Ultra Street Fighter II Final Challengers Bison Aqua blue suit
great video! I don't know if its just me but as a casual collector, I like having my figures in different sizes. it helps set them all apart from each other. some 6 inch, some 7 inch, and maybe some taller than that. but I totally see why it may bother some.
Nice...but the face sculpts are really bland. The eyes are the main problem on all three faces, they have no emotion or 'life' at all...they should have introduced a little bit of a squint, that small detail would have helped out allot.
I agree that the eyebrows over the headband don't look realistic, but for me that's a funny quirk about Ryu's design that's unique to him. Like you said, most of the official artwork and in-game models have it. I think it would look a lot less jarring if they didn't have the skin tone showing (aka actually fully painted the eyebrows) haha. Great review! Almost sold on this line.
Storm is doing really damn well with originality and functionality.. I love my scorpion and cant wait for sub zero.. I passed on Ryu but if i see a Cammy or Chun Li im going all in on the line.. Ryu, Ken, & whoever else.. Man if a Kitana and Mileena come out thats going to be great.. Smoke has alway been my favorite.. Cyborg and Human form.. Damn im going to be dead broke lol
Looks great, but I'm tired of having to invest in a new line that is in another completely different ballpark size-wise despite them advertising them as within a certain scale (in this case, 1/12). Why can't there be an industry standard, where 1/12 actually means 1/12, and not over 7" tall, which Ryu definitely should not be in true 1/12 scale. I can see these fitting in with the Mezco One:12 series and that's about it. Anyway, as always thank you Anthony for the review.
Sad that people consider 50.00 for a measly 7 inch figure fair. No matter how many assessories he comes with, he's just 7 inches. Won't be surprised if neca started doing this since people seem so happy with this price. Also there are a ton of SF characters. All thise 50's add up real fast.
With the Storm Collectibles handling the license, how do you feel about SOTA Toys' run on the Street fighter figures? Do you still think some figures like Sagat can still be held in high regard? Thanks Anthony!
These figures are nice Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat are cool but I'm not the biggest fan. If Storm got the license to Tekken and started making those figures I'd be all over that
Hi sir Anthonys custom, please can you help me about my figure ryu the neck paint is going to fade, im planning to repaint the neck of my ryu, what is the exact paint color of the skin tone of ryu?can you advice me about what color of paint the exact color in his skin? Thank you in advance. Godbless
I was waiting for your review on this guy. Storm collectibles are going to doing some pretty cool things with street fighter series Going to at least get Ryu and Ken
It have the same price point of S.H.F. on eBay, I think is pretty ok. Great figure but I don't like the concept character... X_X I wish they could do Alpha version.. T.T
Fantastic review of an amazing figure Anthony!!! I personally prefer the Mortal Kombat figures as I prefer that property but ill definitely be picking these up as well. I have the alt color version of Ryu on pre-order. Again thanks for all your hard work and the excellent review...
Your cup of tea or not...Ryu is often depicted with the brows over the head band (like you said)...this isn't supposed to be a "realistic" character, he's actually based off of a video game...lol...you do realize that, don't you? Good review though, very thorough.
***** Anatomically is what it seemed you were referencing...Which... He's not supposed to be "realistic"...You were saying it isn't...Which it's not...But I don't know why that is even something worth pointing out on a video game character depicted with his eyebrows that way...Also a smart way to hide the face swap a bit

+Devil May Cry Fan (Ultimassassin) yeah...in the game, is just the end of the brow that goes over...not half of the brow and some forehead.
@@AnthonysCustoms well if it’s in the game....
It’s realistic (sorta) because ryu is not a real person. So it’s game accurate
Comparing it with other figures makes your video a lot better.
these guys need to make tekken figures especially Kazuya.
Good news lol.
They've got a Jin, Devil Jin, King, and Heihachi.
r/whoosh
I would love a ryu figure from earlier street fighter one that looks like anime figures.
That's how I felt about Ken's figure.
***** that ken looked so much better. The new ones look ugly
Grandmaster Popo its not just the beafy body but look at the ugly face. Sorry, but I like the old animated version much well. The new street fighter games have all these ugly beafy characters which looks like they are some failed experimental subjects who got hit by gamma radiation.
Grandmaster Popo yeah exactly.
+Jimmy McNulty the animated movie has the best version of most chargers imo. Basically sf2 turbo artwork
now i cant unsee the eyebrow overlapping the headband 😂 i didnt notice it b4
I need a Terry Bogard from Storm Collectibles
Ulises Ramos same here
@@jhohnerman2223 hes coming bro, Rugal, Kyo, Terry and Iori! Collect all four to make the Gravity Smash effect
Ulises Ramos terry will be out soon and looking perfect

mine is on its way, can't wait to what the hipe is about. subzero will be here tomorrow.
i kind of like the idea of spiderman being shorter, it kind of fits his character

+doodlederek yep. If it was just a bit different it would look a lot better
it be cool if storm collectibles would do a bearded ryu instead of of his blue karate gi
Yeahhh
the issue with the belt is that it connects karate ghee to the body so it's a peg that holds the in place
+AJex War Gaming the belt does not connect to the body
The Sh Figuarts one coming is more vibrant looking.
Catty Mintgum yeah but it seems weird
Catty Mintgum figuarts has the face right but the bulk and proportions of sfv ryu is more accurate on the storm collectibles
His eyebrows go over the headband in the game. So it's game accurate. That's a good thing.
That looks awesome, would be wicked having a figure of Jin from street fighter x tekken aswell
Are they making all the main characters?? I need a Vega!
Storm is doing really damn well with originality and functionality.. I love my scorpion and cant wait for sub zero.. I passed on Ryu but if i see a Cammy or Chun Li im going all in on the line.. +Think for Yourself you probably don't want to wait...they will likely be doing them and the early releases will be htf at that point
I wonder if these would fit in scale with the neca figures
Asesome Review! I read on instagram that you can get some "ankle pivot" turning the shin around and then use the hinge as an ankle pivot
+Plasti Adicto sure but then his leg will look broken
So glad they made figures

I need a ryu but the faces look weird to me, I dont know. akuma and bison are very good.
6:00 if Street Fighter was an anime
if it was true 1:12 Ryu would be a much smaller figure like the size of a Bandai figure
Don't worry about the eyebrows there kinda like that in the game.
Sad that people consider 50.00 for a measly 7 inch figure fair. No matter how many assessories he comes with, he's just 7 inches. Won't be surprised if neca started doing this since people seem so happy with this price. Also there are a ton of SF characters. All thise 50's add up real fast.
kojoshrine I actually agree but that is the going rate on import figures
With the Storm Collectibles handling the license, how do you feel about SOTA Toys' run on the Street fighter figures? Do you still think some figures like Sagat can still be held in high regard? Thanks Anthony!
yeah. one has no bearing on the other. completely different style and more than a decade between them
Guys pls answer me I need help. Should I choose this Ryu or NECA Ryu?
I think the figure looks really good, and I will be happy once u receive my variant version.thanks for reviewing
+Joseph Hernandez your variant version?
AnthonysCustoms they're doing a blue color also
+Joseph Hernandez I know but the way you worded it made think you meant something else. Idk if I'll be reviewing that one
I'm sure there's no need, all it will be is a different color anyway
It seems shf will reissue ryu. Which one do you prefer Shf ryu or storm ryu?
pre-ordered the sh figuarts ryu, a while agoi hope its as good if not better than this and i will be happy
I don't mind the eyebrows, but I don't think I would be able to get over that bit of flesh color on top.
Wish you would compare your sota street fighter figures with storm collectible street fighter figures.
These figures are nice Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat are cool but I'm not the biggest fan. If Storm got the license to Tekken and started making those figures I'd be all over that
This figure ain’t that bad. Might buy it lmao
As long as I can swap him into my smash display, instead of my sota Ryu with fused elbows, I'm happy
Will the heads be able to swap though?
Hi sir Anthonys custom, please can you help me about my figure ryu the neck paint is going to fade, im planning to repaint the neck of my ryu, what is the exact paint color of the skin tone of ryu?can you advice me about what color of paint the exact color in his skin? Was worth the wait for this review. Can't wait to have mine in hand. Do you have Sub Zero yet?
+Aaron Battey soon
How do you feel about the upcoming S.H. Figuarts Ryu?
might be good. fingers crossed.
The belt does rotate
At loest money 😀😀
good review though
Have you seen the blue one?
yes
the eyebrows are the art style it is what it is if they had them hidden it wouldnt be accurate
+Chad Redd I dont want them hidden. He had never had flesh above the head band...just eyebrow hair
Think the eye brows are supposed to be pushing the headband up not going over it?
Why no comparison with the Play Arts Kai Ryu? Was something I was looking for. :( Good review though.
+Ken W why would I compare it to a figure that's no where near the same scale?
True. Just wanted to compare the different Ryu figures. :) Eg: NECA, PAK. Thanks for the review though. Keep up the great videos.
The eyebrows go over headband in almost all street fighter game
not like this. like i said in the video, the meat under the eyebrow shouldnt be up above the band.
How much was ryu
He's an animated charter.
+Felipe Terrazas umm...
Your cup of tea or not...Ryu is often depicted with the brows over the head band (like you said)...this isn't supposed to be a "realistic" character, he's actually based off of a video game...lol...you do realize that, don't you? Good review though, very thorough.

Wow is available in Pakistan
Ryu you look so 😎🆒
Anthony, There is some figure that you consider a 10/10?
+Matheus de Souza nothing is perfect when it's made to cost a certain price point
He's the size of a Neca Ryu figure...I think
Do you think this Ryu will be hard to come by if I decided to wait until their Zangief came out to try and purchase it?
i there is no reissue
Where is available in pakistan
Spider-UK looks like one leg is shorter than the other?
+MyNameIsSladeWilson no
I'd like to see a shirtless varient with the beard
CN.TSUKAIMA
Anthony will you a Custom of Zero From Drakengard 3 and Asura From Asura's Wrath Too.Please
