What a powerful and insightful story of photography. No matter how long you have been taking photographs, this video cannot help but inspire you. Congrats
Even after shooting for years, I think this video you have made really hits home and is a constant reminder to all photographers to stay grounded and realistic in their pursuits. Happy New Year Kebs! Here's to a great 2021!
I often think "street photography" is the wrong name for what we do. I don't have an alternative, but so many of these are "environmental portraits" - people living their lives, working, playing, just being themselves and doing the things that people do. You are recording odd and fleeting moments in people's lives. Catching a smile, a frown, a look of intense concentration, a moment of apprehension or an instant of joy. Freezing moments we all know, and we all see, but we can seldom remember. We always see people's feet, but we never remember them - you record them! I think this is social documentary, and there are some really good examples here. May 2021 give you many more opportunities to develop your skills.
Thanks Martin! I really enjoy reading your comments! I agree with the naming, 'street photography' might not be the right name but it definitely has something to do with documenting. Thanks for the encouragement Martin! May you have an excellent year!
Great video with some important insight Kebs! I think we get too caught up wondering if other people will like our work or if it “means” anything. Just shoot what you feel like shooting, results will come. This is an important video for street photographers, especially beginners 👊🏻👊🏻
A good way to remind us why we do street photography and what a content to end the year with. Just wanna say, I appreciate the hard work and effect you've put into your contents and I cant wait for what's next on your channel. Happy 2021 and looking forward for more! Peace
Amazing video Kebs! Such a fitting year-ender video but even more as a year-starter video. This video focuses on street photography but a lot of it is very applicable to any creative activity. This really inspires me to just keep creating. For sure I will come back to this video again and again whenever I encounter creative frustration. Thanks for the constant inspiration Kebs!
Love how you provide a clear and sensible conceptual framework of the different styles of street photography, add easily actionable ways of achieving them (not just tired oneliners without practical handles), and have the photos to back up your words. Reminds me of the things I loved about Ming Thein's blog. Keep it up!
I really liked your photos, especially the one at 17:29. Unfortunately, according to the quote in the beginning, I am still doing my worst work 😂 but I'll keep making street photography, I fell like this way you get to grow so much more
Really great stuff here, Kebs. A lot of what you cover has been my experience as well. I love that your subject for getting "unstuck" is people's feet-mine is chairs. Wherever I am, there's always a chair to photograph, and that gives me a consistent subject matter that gets me going when I need a purpose to be shooting. Starting a TH-cam channel has been a good way to track my photography as well. Keep it up!
Dear Kebs, I really like your person. I feel a lot of kindness in you. Your channel is not shouted and is very close to my personality. Shy, reflective and looking for improvement. Street is, together with landscape, one of my prefered style but I am a newbie and shy, so I habe fear to take pics of people.
What an amazing video Kebs. Great listening to you and everything you said is so true and you sound so down to earth and a great example of a human being. Thank you for sharing this clip and your dedication. Truly great full sir 🙏
before the video starts, Happy New Year sir Kebs! Thanks for all the POV Videos you made this year, it helped me do street photography with confidence :)
@@KebsCayabyab Thanks you for sharing and inspiring me! I Just discovered your channel and your photography. Very wonderful contents. I hope you're great in this pandemic. Greetings from Italy ✌🏻
Hello, well done for this beautiful and inspiring work. I wish you a happy new year, full of good health and success. "Bonjour, bravo pour ce très beau et inspirant travail. Je vous souhaite une bonne année, pleine de bonne santé et réussites."
Beautiful and inspiring photo essay. I think your work illustrates the power of a collection of photos. Each photo by itself, though beautiful, may have limited meaning. But,the collection of all these photos gave me a great view of life in Makati-much more complete than I could have gotten from a single photo or, I believe, from a movie.
Do you feel like your style has changed from what it was earlier this year? Tbh I liked your photos earlier from this year than the pictures you took in the latter part of the year. The earlier photos had a dreamy vibe to them which I absolutely love.
I think it has changed. I wouldn't necessarily say that my style shifted, but the way I took photos changed drastically due to the circumstances. January to March, I was shooting "normally." April and May, I only used phone as I can only go out for essentials. June to December, I was able to bring out my main camera but cannot (or will not) go closer due to social distancing. For now, I have "a style" but I don't know if that will still be the same if we're back to normal. :)
Amazing advice! I agree with all of it, especially the mention of Defaults. I'm also learning and it has been a solid year since I started street photography. This is my new passion and I love it as a hobby. @gwarepics
Thanks for being a part of this year-long project!

Great story! I love your video and photos. The music in the video was really relaxing. What software did you use to edit you video?
Thank you! I was unsure what music to use, I'm happy you liked it! I used Premiere :)
What's your most used focal length?
23mm > 50mm > 18mm > 35mm
In order of use and preference.
Love your feet pics man
Thanks man! I enjoy collating them after a while!

0:35 great, makes me eeme of Fan Ho
Whats the name of the song in the beginning??
What focal lenght do you find the best for candid portraits? I dont want that people notice while I'm shooting
70mm Full Frame (50mm APS-C) is what I would recommend :) Not near, but not too far as well.
Thanks for the answer!
What country or city were these photos taken? Thanks.
Philippines! :)
