hey man I love youre style of teaching it really helps when im practicing something and if im not doing something right you explain why that may happen it makes learning easier. that said you should do a vid on offense in blockstrings this is my most challenging part of playing fighterz (remembering options is hard lmao). ik you touched on this in the ultimate guide but if there's anything else you think would help I apreciate it. thx.
Dude if you’re debating over other fighting games and don’t know what to get, I say don’t think about it and just get this. Now if you cannot buy for one reason or another be patient you’re gonna need for Dbfz as well.
@@spicefgc3631 true, this definitely one of the best fighting games out there. The pure swag combos you can pull off with some training is absolutely insane and so fun to do. Definitely worth. Also it goes on sale pretty often (on xbox it sometimes goes for 17 bucks for the ultimate edition down from like 110)
Came back to this since I'm rusty, but changed up Stage 5 since I'm using UI Goku as a practice dummy. Recording 7 is the dash-in heavy, followed by the j.M cross-up. Except as soon as the medium lands, Goku cancels into the command grab. Recording 8 is like 1 and 4, where he does 2L then 5L after landing, except Goku cancels into the command grab after the 5L. Recording 8 may not seem as bad, but keep in mind that the previous Stages had you expect a DR or 2M. Seeing him flip over you, if you don't expect it, can make you stop just long enough to get grabbed. Edit: changed "1 and 3" to "1 and 4". My big brain got mixed in the menus lmao. I should also note the 2M in recording 1 catches jump attempts when evading DR or the command grab.
I just started trying this for block practice today, and i was able to get 8 reps on level 5 after having gone through all the previous levels first, it's really hard, but a really easy OS for 4 options is just jump back after 2L>5L, if they don't buffer the 2M it won't hit in time or it'll hit on them after they already jumped back and it avoids the command grab, dragon rush, and EX tackle, you still have to react to instant DR, 6M, or iad j.M, but it cuts out most options making it a lot easier
I made a change to one involving a cross up into medium grab to involve the cross up more as a reaction as well. So far stuck at 14 on level 5 but Im getting there!
Hey globku thank you for this video I've been watching your vids to help me get better at fighterz and I needed a defence video so thank you. Also level 3 is where I got stuck first and so far I've got 5 on level 5
This is great. More of these type of focused training techniques would awesome. I spend a lot of time in practice mode but feel like I waste a lot of time without a defined goal so anything else like this would be highly appreciated.
My defence is pretty solid now but that came from playing online, I wish I saw this vid a yr or 2 ago, but I'm still gonna be doing this just to refine my fundamentals
Thanks so much for this. This breakdown really helps out a lot. I dont plan on competing but I would totally download blockstrings or combos from others to learn the game. That would be a game changer for me.
Globku, about the 6m, if you're playing a character that has a high attack speed (When i say high attack speed you can read "press light attack 1 time and he makes more than 1 hit attack, like vegetto and gotenks"), actually you're going to break the enemy attack, because even if the guy smash attack to do the auto combo, in the same time that his character make 1 hit, you make 3. Sorry for the bad english, even in my native language i don't know how to write, but hope you understand what i'm saying :V
Globku do you have by any chance a video about combos ? like from Easy to Advanced ? Just got the game (better late than never) and I do want to play. I have little to no exp with fighting games the only thing I like is the flashy part. So is there any videos on what I should learn to combo just to enjoy the game.. Like I'm sure I'll get destroyed by most people but I think I'd have to some if I could do a combo followed by a super move just to ya know..feel good inside :D
Never would have thought to practise defence like this. Did it for 10 minutes jumped into ranked and I could feel a difference. Then again I was never the best at defence, so that’s probably also a reason.

in this case SD is no OS. It simply beats multiple options, making it a stronger guess. Borrowing the dbfz-community's weird definition of fuzzy, you could "fuzzy" (in this case, delay), while teching all manner of throws (you have f-21 to punish from the tech-timing, and are airborne f-5, giving you a 7-f window to OS 17f-grabs, depending on how whether you have throw-invul prejump frames, I don't know off the top of my head if SD has that property. If not, that window is 2 frames, yikes.), which, ironically, makes it an OS, albeit the simplest possible one. Thinking about it, you can tech a DR with SD inputs, but that's just weird, and, again, makes it into an OS. and don't get me started on tick-throws xD
@@Zetsukun12 that is, unfortunately, untrue. Pick trunks and try. Also, before typing anything next time, just take a second, engage your brain and ask yourself, whether, especially if two people go out of their way to mention something, you just engaged in "learning".

Looking at a controller’s D-Pad you count from bottom to up, left to right like so:
7 - 8 - 9
4 - 5 - 6
1 - 2 - 3
5 would be pressing no buttons/neutral.
2 would be holding directly down.
9 would be holding directly up and to the right.
So a 2H would be holding down and pressing the heavy button, while a 236L would be a quarter-circle forward light special attack.
