Delete A Background From An Image In Affinity Designer

- In this tutorial we will be going over how to remove the background from any image using Affinity Designer.
To accomplish this, we will use the Flood Select Tool in the Pixel Persona to create a selection over the area of the image we'd like to remove. Then, we'll refine the selection further and use it as a reference to delete out the background.
Once finished, we will export our work in PNG format to ensure that it retains the transparent areas of the image (the JPEG format does not support transparency.)

Thanks. Good tip on needing to work with PNG. I was trying to remove the background from a PDF at first. Pretty simple once I converted to PNG.

How can you make the brush bigger or smaller
My background did not delete for some reason. This program is so complicated and frustrating lol. SMH. Please help!!
I've done all the steps and it looks as if the background is gone, but after i export as a png, and open it in anothe file it still has a white background and not transparent. In the document it looks transparent. I dont know what i did wrong. Please help... Affinity 2

Gee could you have used an easier photo for your how too? Maybe a triangle would have been easier? This is a fail. No one struggles with this simple of an image. Find one with hair and fine details and do that.
It doesn't matter what I do - the background won't delete. I can select it all day long. Pressed delete. Nothing. Pressed edit --> cut nothing. Absolutely nothing works. I have no fucking clue why but I have now wasted over an hour of my fucking life trying to delete a plain white background that won't go away. I'm so infuriated.
