i enjoyed every minute of this film, thankyou! i have lived in the south of Norway for 20 years now and i have a 28 foot boat 50km south of Oslo, i love visiting different places and im yet to moor to the rocks (i intend to this season :) ) but ive been by road up north and you just cant beat the scenery anywhere, i hope you visit again and make another film soon!

great mix of a captain's-log style and travel video documentary, excellently filmed and narrated, too! (Watched and enjoyed all 4 parts, but wanted to move my comment and questions to part 1).

I cannot imagine a circumstance in which I would get there and not stupidly try to hike (not climb) one of those mountains. At least a bit, I think some of those peaks and ridges are beyond mere scrambling.

It's not because of the fishing industry is dying places like Nusfjord are being turned into tourist locations. As the boats become bigger they just don't fit in the small harbours anymore. The industry is also becoming more centralised, leading to fewer, but bigger, fishing ports. The fishing industry is still very much alive, and an important resource for Norway. I guess you could say that the industry has died in many of the small ports.

    +ybwtv,
    Hello again Jon,
Thank you yet again for the charisma you put into your film making. The beauty of the shots and the less is more commentary, just superb. Although not a boat owner, but owner of handling skills; I wish I had the chance to do what you do. Your videos are as great as they come.
    Best wishes
    Jonathan

Sorry to be nerdy, but that fish - stock fish - is probably more known as bacalao/bacalhau. That - the dried cod on those racks -are the finest bacalhao a person from Portugal or Brazil can buy. I have seen stacks of this in their supermarkets with the bacalhau da noruega sign and wondered if the people buying it knew where it came from, how it was made and how long it took to make. They probably did, because it is not cheap :)

The Baltic next year - ideally St. Petersburg as the ultimate destination... And got some more local films and articles I'm working on for MBY around Devon and Dorset at the moment.

Always impressive videos...magnificent land and seascapes and great commentary. Question...the boat is an open saloon, how do you keep warm in those climes. Must be freezing cold😦

Got heating on board - including a vent on deck - and it really works!

Hi John - great series. We are considering a 40' sports-boat. Also saw you Mallorca to UK trip. Couple of questions: how many hours would these engines last (ie lifetime of the engines)? And what do you budget as annual running costs (fuel, berthing, maintenance, insurance, etc)? Thanks in advance
