I would say "Don't be so hard on yourself" but this kind of self reflection is probably why you are so good. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Jason you have been the most dominating person Ever in the history of the PBA! I knew there would come a time when things would turn on you!
Family being so far away has to be on your mind! Kids are getting older and I know you want to be with them ? Your Skills are still there! Show me what you got ! Best to you ! Sam Maze in WV !

These moments of failure are really necessary for self reflection and improvement. You are doing your job if you take advantage of your failures. You are failing if all you do is get angry or dejected because of it. Letting go of the feeling of failure while learning from the dissection of the failure is not always easy.

Good stuff, Jason. Maybe a bowling night segment with the Belmonte family would be pretty neat to watch.

All great athletes have pitfalls as you know. How you handle those failures is what set you on a path to success. You’re one of the greatest. Failure happens. You have a beautiful family and life from a sport you love. Do your best, forget the rest! 😉

hey BELMO, hares a tip for STRIKE FEST competition in the future, how about using a cotton or leather glove for holding the ball with your left hand to avoid the heavy oil getting on your left palm. Just an idea, also just a suggestion for future vlogs, how about doing a log playing against handicapped bowlers who use wheelchairs or whatever you can figure it out as bowling also is played by handicapped or differently abled bowlers, what a log that would be. thank you.

Your practice sessions back at home would be fun to see. Let us know what you work on specifically. Tips on how you improve specific deficiencies in your game.

The timer hit zero JUST before the ball came out of Jesper’s hand. That one should’ve been a tie. (watched at 0.25 speed)
They got you for it in the strike derby back in the day with the same split second rule!

How about you try next time playing with only spare or plastic balls and just throwing straight and as fast as you can removing the ball reaction factor

That was definitely zero before he threw that last ball without even needing to slow the video down.

JASON... YOU WITNESSED A CHILD HAVE A SEIZURE IN THE SAME DAY THAT YOU HAD TO BOWL YOUR BEST. YOU CANT JUST FORGET THAT SORT OF THING... AND HAVING CHILDREN YOURSELF... MAKES WHAT YOU SAW PRETTY EMOTIONAL. I AM NOT SURE ANYONE WHO SAW WHAT YOU SAW... WOULD BE ABLE TO FOCUS... WE ARE NOT ROBOTS JASON... AND WE ARE NOT INVINCIBLE. WE ALL HAVE MOMENTS WHERE HUMANITY TAKES OVER AND YOU HAVE TO ACCEPT THE REALITY OF THINGS. TRAMATIC EXPERIENCES CANNOT BE ERASED AND FORGOTTEN... NO MATTER WHAT SORT OF ATHLETE YOU ARE. WE ARE ALL THE SAME... AND WE ARE ALL HUMAN. GIVE YOURSELF A BIT MORE ROOM FOR ERROR MY GUY...
FOR THE RECORD... IF YOU SAW WHAT YOU SAW WITH THAT WONDERFUL CHILD... AND WERE ABLE TO STILL BOWL PERFECTLY... I WOULD CONSIDER YOU HEARTLESS AND DEVOID OF ANY EMOTIONAL CAPABILITY... BUT YOU COULDNT... AND THAT MAKES YOU A GOOD MAN... AND IN A WORLD THAT HAS A SHORTAGE OF GOOD MEN IN IT... IM GLAD AT LEAST YOU ARE ONE OF THE GOOD GUYS.

Dude. You’re human. It happens. You’re one of the best bowlers on the planet. Just get back in the saddle as we say.

I call it foggy eye syndrome. No matter how much you look at your mark there is no way you can hit it.

Does your feeling guilty change the results? There is nothing before the shot. There is nothing after the shot, only the shot. Any thoughts other than the process of the shot are detrimental. Great words, but internalizing it is the trick.

I like the "Strike Derby" but it is so abusive it is for younger dudes. Mr. Belmonte is getting too old for this stuff. He is just a couple years from replacing Mr. Pedersen.
