I've been installing them for over 20 years. The only nut I tighten with a tool is the nut on the stop valve. I've seen these plastic nuts crack and flood homes so hand tighten and let the rubber do the work.
I thank u so much, this is the first time that I install a fluid master..I didn’t need NO tools 🧰 🛠️ you are allot of help..i do appreciate you and you posting this video to help others like me.. thank you once again...😊many blessings ❤️✌️😉❤️
I’m doing this for the first time and all the videos I found didn’t specify the part about breaking the piece off the rubber washer. I was sitting here for like ten minutes contemplating just doing it but I was lacking confidence lol. Anyway thank you
Uk 🇬🇧 Plumber for over 40 years .. always used fluidmaster parts before wonderful retirement … When ever I bought a new toilet 🚽 I would always discard the supplied fittings and replace with Fluidmaster
Hay smart guy make sure you adjust the height of the fluid master so it’s high enough to be able to flush toilet and don’t have too high if and whenever if the washer goes bad and it keeps running and water runs out of the whole of the trip lever
You removed a fill valve with a brass shank It should be installed new with a brass shank and change the supply to a supply that has a brass nut to go up against the brass shank it's the best job you can do
Great vid, Can’t call yourself a plumber, but more a handy man doing simple repairs. A bit of caution for failing angle stops; will continue to run and can cause potential water damage. Again great video, not trying to be that negative guy 😅
I worked exclusively as a plumber for 10+ yrs. I record simple repairs for homeowners. I wouldn’t record myself doing full plumbing rough ins because that wouldn’t hit the target audience.
If the toilet flap is not broken it’s easier to turn the water off and then just flush the toilet very minimal water but cheers bud what state are you in
I did a,house referb everything new with 22mm pipework and increased flow rate from the street. After a few months my tenant changed my new toilet system for one of these without permission. When I found out I changed it and put back to the origional and told them all I've done is open up the valve restriction on the toilet.
what causes a new toilet to whistle when it is refilling the tank after it is refilling the tank? Edit: after it has been flushed. Sorry about the typo. 😞
@@51-FS I cannot turn off the water valve because it is eaten up with hard water (does not leak) something I forgot to mention is that it only started doing this after I put a new toilet in. It did not do it with the old toilet. Sorry. I'm assuming it is already all the way on.
Take a chill pill. I've changed about 10 000 fillvalves and never cracked a nut with my channel locks. Don't over tighten it. Channel locks are fine unless you're a knob like you and over tighten it.
This is way too much information to put into a video that has to be one minute or less. This should have never been a short! It would have been better to just make a video doing the information justice, than to go the route that appears to be seeking more clicks for revenue.
No that’s not the case. I wasn’t making full length videos at the time of making this. I’m starting to post shorts in two parts where I think more information needs to be shared. Trust me, I’m never fishing for clicks to get money on here, I’m truly trying to help people. I WISH I was making money like that haha
Nice when everything seized on and takes you 2 hours to get all he nuts off, the blood sweat and tears isn’t worth it 😂 that’s why I’d rather pay someone to do it, it’s not as easy as it looks in this vid believe me and I’d use ptf tape too, pay £80 to get it done or suffer I know which I’d choose 😂

This is a 5 star video, quick, to the point, step by step, no extra stories. Just......fixing the damn thing and done, thank you for this
Thanks!!
Absolutely to the point. I just replaced mine and I feel so accomplished. Very thankful for this video
Absolutely right to the point. I just replaced mine and I feel so accomplished. Very thankful for this video.
Agree with you not like other videos that you have to skip like half of the video to get to the point 😂😂
Fantastic job of not wasting minutes and minutes blurring away! Thank you comments for cautioning against using tools on plastic.
Turn off the supply valve, and then flush the toilet before taking out the old fill valve. Way less water will be in the toilets tank.
I'm not a plumber even a little bit, but your video helped me get the job done. Thank you, sir, and keep up the great content and education efforts.
Absolutely! Glad to hear that!! That’s why I started the channel!
You read my mind. 😊
Perfect, straight to the point 👍👍
Thx! No more running toilet.. I love this new age of DIY.

Never use a pair of channel locks and a plastic supply line nut! And you will crack it and be in a world of trouble!
Only it you over tighten, usually hand tight is good with the rubber gasket
Not everyone will crack it.

I thought this guy was going crazy
Thanks for the tip . I must have got lucky over the past 30 years and 10 000 fillvlave replacements with my channel locks.

Thanks for the super helpful video, I was able to replace my fill valve in just a few minutes 👍
Glad it helped
Great video ONLY thing I would say is after securing the water, flush the toilet so you don’t have to catch all the water in a bucket…
Thank you for the video. Good man

I prefer Korky Quietfill fill valves.

I saw the bucket and recognized it from a Cape May Nj caramel corn maker. I use the same bucket for wire nuts.
Yup!! 😂 it’s so good!
Why is this video popping up literally 5 hours after I paid our plumber $110 to do this???
Thank you
I can’t believe this video came on tonight while my toilet is running. 😮👍🏾
Great job 😂😂😢
Thank you!

Disconnecting the water line is not easy! I wish these videos would say that! It’s not just one turn and you’re done.
Should've switch the top and left the brass shank.
"you can call yourself a plumber" hehehehe
❤ thank you❤
Never use the same water supply. Always change the water suppy. Its like $8 and not worth the risk. The plastic nut on the supplies weakens over time.
Just change it out from the top...tip from the 8TH year app.
I do this at my job the new guys always go crazy haha I’m not unscrewing nothing
Appreciate it
U could just flush the toilet after shutting off the water to empty it instead of risking it with a bucket?
You made that look so hard lol
Ares is so old it’s all fused together I’m doing a paper towel n vinegar to eat away the corrosion pain in the but
Um if ya shut the valve off you can flush the toilet also to empty most of the tank
You traded a fill valve with a brass shank for one with a plastic shank? What a bum
Dont use wrenches on plastic nuts, just a PSA
What is a psa?
@@elpacho....9254PSA= public service annoucement
So would this be the same if the toilet had. A censer
How old do you have to be to use it?😦

@@mirai3263 that's probably why... the water is restricted. I bet it takes a bit to fill back up after u fulsh?

Yep you totally risked a major leak by throwing those steel pliers on that plastic nut. Never do that

Fuck. I've been having issues with fluid masters. I sware they're fucking cheating it up now. Used yo be soo good
Theirs a way qucker way to do this.... takes less then a minute to do
Or just spray it in the bowl instead of a bucket
Man if only there was an easier, cleaner way to drain the water in the toilet tank! Something that could be done with a finger...
Perfecto
Do you turn the water valve on the wall all the way to get a strong flush?
Easy simple
Idk why people are making 20 mint video of this

“We don’t need that”…..very sad
Your talking waaaay to fast! Do better....
I agree that it’s fast, but you can only fit so much into these short videos! That’s why I have longer tutorials on my channel as well!
