Shannon, I dip my paper beads in wood hardener 7 times. After last dipping has dried, I then dip them in minwax water poly. They are hard and durable as rock!
thank you Shannon - this was good to see - i almost thought this video was going to end with a shot of your beads drying from your garage door lol weeeeeee - Hugs to you xx
Love how these beads turned out, Shannon! I´ve probably become a pain in the behind for our local hardware store (I live in Finland); " I need a similar product I saw online..no, I don´t know what it´s made of..."etc. The shop owner has grey hair nowadays. Tfs, Fia xx
i tried the wood hardener that u used in the video a few weeks ago... and the smell was horrible and the fizzing scared me ....like a toxic bomb...i use PC wood petrifier now...not toxic...and no fizzing
Very cool product, Shannon! I've hesitated making any more beads because it's such a hassle doing one bead at a time when coating them with glossy accents or polycrylic. This will definitely get me back to making beads! I'm assuming they don't stick together on the threads, or you'd have warned us. Thank you for sharing your info with us!!! ❤️
I will have to try this. the mod podge that i have been using to seal my paper beads, i let dry of course, then put all the cured and dried paper beads in a plastic baggie, I went back to check on them, and they were sticking to each other just a bit, they were still useable, but I don't like them sticking, so I will have to try this, thank you.
hi shannon , I am looking to seal watercolour paper jewelry, would this be ok to use ? I've not managed to find much info on what is best to use thanks
@@ShannonGreen thank you, I think I finally got it done after going through the MailChimp process, which generally is a pain in the a _ _. Looking forward to seeing any info. Thanks again. Take care and God bless. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas
In the past ive tried dipping my paper beads, during the drying process the liquid hardner would fill in the hole somewhat.. any tips on how to prevent that from happening?

Is it better to varnish after using the wood hardener or the reverse?
What is the string called that you are using ?
Good video. Maybe the bubbles are coming from trapped air in the bead shaft.
Wow, look at all those paper beads, looks like you have been busy. Take care and God bless.

Your beads are just beautiful Shannon! Do you sell your paper beads?
Hugs Marsha
I haven't in the past but I've got so many of them now that I might have to!
Do you have a Etsy or Facebook page?
I look at paper beads like Homer Simpson looks at donuts. Mmmm paper beads...💚💙💜
Zactly! LOL
Perfect👏👏👏💜
Love the beads. Do you ever sleep lol 😂
Heh :) Yes I do but I stay busy while I'm awake!
I tried PC Petrifier which is a waste of time and mobey.
Why???
@@zigryignacio4343 it didnt do any good at all. Ive given up on paper beads.
Hello! how many times should you dip? is it necessary for other purposes or is only the PF enough?
🙂
The bubbling is just the wood hardener forcing the air out of the beads
Good to know, thanks!
In the past ive tried dipping my paper beads, during the drying process the liquid hardner would fill in the hole somewhat.. any tips on how to prevent that from happening?
I’ve not had that happen at all. Is it Minwax or a different brand?
❤️❤️❤️
