Very interesting I have mentioned you in my latest with links. These shopping channels seriously need to up their game including QVC. It is no good having "Diamonique hour" or "homewares specials" Gen Z and millennials have much less concentration time and want interactivity, these channels need to be fun with good presenters that are interested in what they are selling with good screen chemistry... TH-cam is FULL of people doing reviews and a better job than these shopping channels. The channels need interactivity not just random callers into the studio, they need to feel real, the programming comes across fake and forced. Better staffing of presenters who show interest in producte and not just have the gift of the gab.
Thanks for the link 😀 I totally agree with you, it needs to change because there's no incentive to watch and its not like those channels advertise on other channels. It sort of needs to be flipped on it's head. The personality needs to be the selling point and it should be entertaining tv, but they also sell stuff. I think that's how ideal world started - it sold QVC's former popular presenters who all had a previous following. It could go even as far back as the talent route with presenters - the most obvious place to pick from nowadays is TH-cam/Twitch/ tiktok but the channels haven't twigged on yet. It might be partially down to the size of the current talent pool, but also maybe these channels have a strong legacy audience, but yeah some of it might be down to something I've mentioned in comments on other videos about live tv. The unique thing with shopping channels and previously quiz TV is that if you don't tune in live you miss out. You can't win on-demand - If you're watching on a shopping channel the win is getting the product at a special price that you won't get in the shops. So yeah who knows. Shit, I was hoping Narrative would buy Ideal World’s Freeview slot! With Pop having recently moved to the Local TV multiplex, I was hoping Narrative would consider buying Ideal World’s Freeview slot and using it to relaunch Pop+1 on the platform! Hopefully with GB News now facing Ofcom’s wrath, Narrative will consider sending their vultures to circle around GB News’ SD Freeview slot!
