I ran because I had never felt that before. I got afraid. This was a recent encounter. He backed off. I was truly feeling him but because I never had anyone to love me, I didn't recognize what I felt from him.
GOD has sent me someone consistent..i am in another state getting ready to move and he dropped everything he was doing and flew in the next day. He surprise me wasn't expecting that and he stayed for 10days to boot. I thank GOD for him. I haven't had that before he still shocking me its been almost 2 years wow! I remember when I was the last time in love (7 years ago) and we were together, and he told me “I have on Thursday free, choose whatever you want to do after you work” because often he worked on Saturday when I was off. So I said “let’s go to my favourite ice cream store” he said ok. Note that it was summer and I am in Spain. So after work I rushed home to him, I was so happy. Than I said let’s go. Suddenly he started to complain about the ice cream store being on the other site from the city (Barcelona) 4 km (that’s nothing) you walk that in 1 hour, or take a bus, or metro, or car, or motorcycle or bike and you are within 20-60 there so or so and it was 6 o’clock in the afternoon and the shop was open till midnight. He complained about that! And he said “but I want to take the sun and just let us walk here in the Parc and get some sun” I was so sad and angry at the same time. So I said “I go by myself” and suddenly he said “no I come with you” and we made a huge scene on the street as I was really angry and wanted to go by myself and he did not accept that. That day I knew he did not love me. Asking me, confirming me and than deciding following his own desires for not something important. If he would have told me I am tired I am exhausted or I don’t feel good ok. But not “I want to walk only here in the sun” and than I said in a normal way “I will go by myself” and than wants to come. No no no… that’s the difference between people who love each other. They find a way to make you happy with small gestures. Even they don’t feel that day…

That was the moment I knew I had to walk away. I knew then that he would always choose himself over me/us. It was a moment of clarity that I’d not had in years and erased every minute of confusion I’d had thus far about our relationship. My broken consciousness had me believing that it was okay to exist and linger inside that relationship without a desire for marriage, which is fine, BUT not the way we were engaged in it. I asked my long time bf (don’t let that slip), explicitly if he valued his privacy over sharing his body after a long period of struggle. He gave me a response that pretty much said ‘yes’. That was the moment I knew I had to walk away. I knew then that he would always choose himself over me/us. It was a moment of clarity that I’d not had in years and erased every minute of confusion I’d had thus far about our relationship. Thank you Pastor Blakes for being the father some of us have never had. Thank the Lord for you!! My broken consciousness had me believing that it was okay to exist and linger inside that relationship without a desire for marriage, which is fine, BUT not the way we were engaged in it. So grateful for the Holy Spirit abiding within me and telling me to leave this unholy relationship.
