More deep dive, I used this app a while back when it was OBS ninja and couldn't get the audio part to work , looks like it's more polished now! Awesome! Looking forward to trying it again.
VDO has some great tricks indeed. The real power comes when you start to manually add parameters to the url. example, if you want to add a limiter by default (a very good thing to do) then add &limiter to the url. Others I think are must use, &ac=1 it makes everyone come in with a mono signal, &eq enables the control room eq for ur guests so you can adjust them if needed, &avatar lets them select an image for when someone turns of their cam, &animate=0 turns off animations, helps keep cpu usage down for peeps with slower systems. these parameters are added to the invite url u give to guests.
I love VDO ninja for adding a remote cam to my livestreams! I live-streamed a DJ dance party and used my cell phone as a break-out crowd cam using VDO ninja and it worked perfectly.
Yes, please do a deeper dive. While this is a "gee-whiz, ain't it cool" app, I don't see a reason to use it based on what you've shown us so far. It just looks like a different way of doing the same thing we've been doing with NDI. What is the killer feature that I don't have already? If I'm having a VoIP or video conference call with someone, we're going to be using whatever app they are comfortable with (and they can use their smartphone with the app). I capture it with NDI in OBS. StreamYard and other services let you do what you just showed us with what is essentially a web based version of OBS.
Thanks for this good sir. Very helpful for me for the near future. I'd like to start a podcast and/or having guest to co-cast games with me and I was wondering if it's possible to do it through OBS and now I know this is possible. Appreciate your help a lot. 💯
This is interesting and helpful information, BUT it leaves me with some questions. 1) Do you have to use the VDO Ninja platform to be able to do a panel using OBS for livestreaming to TH-cam? Is that the only way? 2) What if you want to add another person to a current livestream, how do you add a new person to the stream?
Does this work for simple recordings? I'm a little too shy for live streaming, but I would like to record my long-distance friend's reactions to videos and upload them.
My biggest thing with doing a show with guests is them being able to see my screen or hear what I am showing on screen (vid clip previews). If that can be done with vid ninja, I am all for it.
You're also able to send your obs scenes via virtual cam and then a virtual audio cable if you prefer that way too. Michael already did a video on how to do that. It's good
I need to ISO record each guest. I would like to ISO record each feed with OBS if possible. But if not, Ninja ISO records will be ok. Trying to remove a post-interview download step. It was a great find and tutorial. Thx.
VDO Ninja is great tool... A deep dive will be fantastic! I was curious if you can use a single source for both webcam and screen capture of a guest...
Thanks, Michael. That was very helpful. Quick question, when using vdo ninja, are the guests able to see any graphics you put up in obs? Is there a way to do that?
IS there a way to stream with 2 people but be able to show their monitors too? In your video we saw the 2 people that joined but could they show, lets say a web page on their screen instead of their face?
This is perfect for what I’m needing, BUT is there anyway to add a guests screen capture. I’m thinking you would need two separate sources, one for webcam like in the video but then another for screen capture (gameplay) wondering if this is possible thanks!
Great video, I have 2 questions 1. Can I then stream this from obs to Mixcloud 2. We dj and I’m wondering if I can add my friend and then he can dj via video to my obs ?😊
Hi, I'm a vtuber and I'm hosting an event with other vtubers, video ninja seems very user friendly and I was wondering if it only does cameras or if it's compatible with apps like vtube studio in place of the camera
Please explore more about VDO Ninja.. for presentation if using app like powerpoint or share screen pdf and if presentation using document camera.. is it clear enough the text we share to meeting participant? And so if we shared video presentation is it good using VDO ninja?
This is cool. But there really should be a plugin or a script that pulls the links in and sets up the combined window. This is a lot of boiler plate work that could and should be scripted.
Great video! Is there an easier way to stream from Quest 2 VR from Streamlabs! SO much has changed in the last year I was hoping there was an easy way.
Michael, I have a question.....i set this up to have a video call to test it out before i use it for recording. So i brought in my guests and those were fine, they came in great. The issue i had was as soon as i hit record, my video started lagging. I only recorded a few minutes as a test. I did go back later and viewed the recording and yes, both myself and one of my guests were slowing. So, my son, who built the computer for me said i should get a different video card. Then if that didn't help we'd need to upgrade the computer processor.....alternatively he suggested checking setting in OBS to see if there was anything i could change to help that issue. So, on the new card or upgrading, does that sounds right to you? Also, \are there any setting suggestions you could make to try and see if that makes any difference? As always i appreciate your help
I just noticed in the owner's tutorial that he said we don't need to use that any longer. I guess I have my answer. Was there a reason that was important before and not now?
@@MichaelFeyrerJr I have friends that use streamyard but are trying to get into obs so I always link them your tutorials. They don’t have the best PCs for streaming so I’m trying to get them to be more app based so their ram can handle their streams as you know browser based eats up memory.
One question....once you set up the video Ninja link.....is it one time or can you set it up, send it to your guest. Then if you have another stream the following week, can you use the same link or do you need a new one?
When you add guests to your podcasts can you regulate their microphone volumes as "OBS" administrator so that they're all at the same volume level for the listeners?
Not seeing my window when i add myself to OBS. I see a red dot and a square connected with a line at the top left corner. Looks like it needs to be resized, but i ca not get it resized. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
So??? If taking your advice for manual... 25 guest.. you'd have to load.... label etc. 25 times??? Is it possible to save that total set up of 25 guests for a later meeting... or do you have to do this everytime??
Is there a way to set up the guest scene in advance, and just change the guest link each time. I’m assuming that guest links would change each session.
We use this but be warned it hammers performance for guests with low end pcs or macs, ramping cpu up to 100% for some. I’ve dropped the quality but it’s still very cpu hungry. With decent machines it’s good.
Does it still lag like hell when you have 4 or more guests? About a year ago when I tried it was unusable with lag with different guests using different devices and cpu would go crazy.
say i wanted to record a video and have them see what i see in live time how does that work? adding the guest is a good video but say you want to link up for a reaction video. how do you display that video and have guest on the same view
How would you do it to setup so you have guests can see what you are streaming? For example if I was streaming ps4 or a youtube video for reaction style video?
i wanna get a deep dive to video ninja. mostly what group capacity (as in you can see your face and not just a small dot). and the time limit? what i am using is skype, a free to join 50 people at 1 time, 4 hours time window (have to pay for extra time)(thay will end video if you go over)... or zoom, a infinite people (but too much and you will have a dot video), 40-50 minute free (then without warning charges you extra).
Hello Michael, great video. I have a project I am working on. I will be streaming LIVE from a conference, however, we have people who will be joining via Facebook to view the session. I am wondering is there a way that each individual who joins facebook can be a guest on OBS to view and interact with the conference. Is that possible or do I need another software?
yeah the mor eI use this the more I absolute hate it. Trying to look around the internet to see how I can use the same link for a guest every time, I'd have better luck breaking into Fort Knox. The liink has to be updated in OBS every time someone joins again even if theyre using the same invite. wth. Why would they make it so damned hard?
The only issue is how do my guests see what I am doing on my screen in OBS? For example. If I play a video clip in OBS , my guests in VOd cannot hear of see the video ? Correct ?
i keep running into issues with camera. I only have my laptop camera. If it is opened on the control room it will not show up on obs. This happens allot in different scenarios because I only have one cam what is the work around. You just put your one cam up and then up again and it works again that does not work for me. I just noticed in the owner's tutorial that he said we don't need to use that any longer. I guess I have my answer. Was there a reason that was important before and not now?
U are the best it does not get easier than this
Seeing this I’m shocked anybody would use streamyard instead besides bringing up comments I guess.
There’s an app for that too. :-)

My guest are echoing when I use VDO Nija. Would you know why this happens?
Someone isnt wearing headphones usually. That’s the most common reason.
Im trying to do this but when I add my camera onto VOD Ninja I can't get it to work on OBS. Is there a way around this without using a second camera?
What if you are adding guests for audio only, what are the best tools for that? Would you still use VDO ninja and disable camera?
I’m assuming you can use one virtual camera so guest can see what is streaming.
Also, would a single quest need to use a headphone?
Do you need two webcams? Do you run into an issue on a single cam where OBS won’t open cus VDO Ninja has control over the one webcam? Thank you
i have social stream ninja...will this video nina interfere with that running at the same time during a live?

That is the one piece that’s a tad annoying. You have to update the links each stream.
save trevor! LOL
Silly question perhaps but does this save in obs and in ninja or does a new link and setup need to be made every time you want guests?
I use the same session ever week when I stream and the links stay the same in OBS.
