This is arguably the boys' best adventure on both shows, and certainly the very best on The Grand Tour by far.
I think the Columbia special was the best.
Unfortunately.. it was the LAST good episode as well.. 🤦🏼♂️
@@FluffyFerretFarm I agree. Especially the latest episode/special, which I did not like at all. It was the least exciting episode/adventure ever. Grim weather, slow and lumbering cars, a very un-exotic and dull location (which is beautiful but not in an exciting or entertaining way).
@@naeemshaikh3191 From The Grand Tour, that is 2nd or 3rd on my list. Overall though, it is way down (like around 10th place), not because it is not good (it is excellent in fact), but because there were many from Top Gear that were somehow more brilliant.
My favourite of all of their adventures is the Burma Special, because I started watching the show from there and also because I am from Asia, so the atmosphere and the scenery felt more familiar than in their non-Asiatic adventures. Plus it had so much fun and humour.
I would rank Mongolia 2nd. Vietnam 3rd.

not to inflate his ego too much, but clarkson's executive decision to put hamster in charge of the car build was 100% correct. if may was in charge they'd have found 3 annoying skeletons drying in the sun a year later.
And Clarkson was sooo right to put himself in charge of food and drink. If his supper is late he tends to get violent.

I think it would be so enjoyable to make a show about captain OCD assembling things, and Jeremy Deniro preparing food, with the commentary of Richard Hammond.

Judging by Seamen Clarkson does sorta kinda look like he knows how to cook.

I was surprised that they weren't more violent in this special, because they were suffering from alcohol withdrawal syndrome.
Maybe the behind the scenes is more spicy than usual. Or maybe the motivation to get alcohol was so strong it forced them to be rational. Fear (of not having alcohol or food) maybe was stronger than anger.
Hammond become sharper, May become grumpier, Clarkson...still himself.

These chaps, legit can build a freaking car from scratch, they not only understand a lot about car and car part, they understand a lot of mechanic ! Shoutout to them, they deserved to be called The Best Hosts of Automobile Show
This is honestly one Grand Tour special I will never get tired of. The recent special episodes have been, let's be honest, lacking somewhat, but Mongolia was a true great.

Those poor rations! When you have cooked and eaten those things so many times during your time in the army. So simple to use and with just a little know how you can get a decent meal out of them.
This went much better than when Hammond and May tried to build a Lego car.
