    I'm sure the folks at the dealership walked him through the features of the car before hand and he is correct when he's says the removable doors are for transport.
    If you noticed he had trouble getting in with the door installed. Now imagine doing that in an enclosed trailer with multiple Essenzas everytime they have to transport these things to and from an event.
    I'm not saying that their purpose isn't also to aid in driver extraction. But the ease of transport reason does make sense and isn't doug being ignorant

    I'm pretty sure that door doesn't come off to "fit" in a narrow truck to transport the car. That's plain silly. They could have made removable mirror to make it narrower.
    In case of accident in the track and the car flips upside down that scissor door cannot be opened, so there is another way for the driver to come out.

      This is true, but probably not something that is on the front of the leaflet from laborghini about this car. You are not going to remind your customers that spend 3,5 million that they might not be as good of a driver as they think they are by talking about crashing.

    • @Real_MisterSir
      @Real_MisterSir 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@binarysic The thing is, it's not really about whatever is in front of the leaflet. It's about Doug fabricating a reason that simply isn't correct. Most likely someone said it helped with transportation, and Doug assumed without further question that this must be the main reason for that feature.
      And this is just an annoying trend that he has shown lately, where he will go out of his way to mention features and then list things that are literally wrong/lacking a ton of context. It kinda defeats the purpose of basing a channel on "quirks and features", when he then misinforms about half of them. Same goes with "these vents are to feed air to the engine", when in fact most of them are just for cooling, not to feed the engine.
      He kinda comes off as someone who is in the middle ground between car salesman, and car enthusiast. He likes all the quirks and funky details and stories, but he presents most of them like a car salesman presents a car: aka, by telling half stories and making up the rest on the fly. All in all it just lowers his credibility, because you can no longer trust that what he says about a specific feature is actually correct.

    The large red button above the E within a circle symbol is the Emergency cut off switch which turns off all electronic systems and the engine in the event of a crash. Most notably F1 cars have a similar button marked with the E within a circle, it is not in the cockpit but near the right sidepod so track marshals can easily reach the button and disable the car after a crash. The fire extinguishers will probably be automated like in most race cars, only activating once smoke or fire is detected within the cockpit.

    9:52 I'm not sure but I think this screen is meant for an instructor to see what the driver is doing. I say this because it clearly has shifting lights above it. These cars require a lot of training to be driven properly, and generally the buyers of these cars aren't exactly highly trained racing drivers. They need some assistance, and with a screen like this an instructor (part of the whole racing program that is included with the purchase of the car) can monitor them.

    The reason is ont to fold in the mirror, if you got a closed walls Car transporter or a container, when you load the car how are you supposed to get out of the car?
    Usually out of the Window, but the Essenza's windows can't even fit a human hand!
    Also, it's not the first racing car to feature that door release

    • @SodawarsGaming
      @SodawarsGaming 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Also a safety thing, if you're in a crash and the door is damaged and won't open the normal way (or if the driver is injured and cannot get out on their own and safety workers need more direct access to the car), unlatching both of those handles should allow it to come right off.

    • @r0b3rt_959
