No. 1: thx for uploading!, no. 2: The beginning very likely is not Egypt but places from Operation Torch. The vegetation is too „overgrown“ for Egypt, although it is close to the sea. Boats on the Nile were shown, however there was no fighting at all close to the Nile. The first few minutes, close to the sea, then are likely from Morocco or - iirc - Algeria. People from these regions should easily be able to identify the cities and forts shown.
Agree, I dont recall ever hearing about the US forces being deployed in the eastern flank of the african theater they came in more from the western Morroco etc
The beginning footage of US troops and armor is most likely during or around the time of the Battle of Kasserine Pass in Tunisia. This neither looks like Egypt nor were there any U.S. troops that were stationed or fought in Egypt.
this must be something of a north african mix film, right? there weren’t US fighting formations in Egypt in WW2, but there were over in Algeria, etc in western north africa. looks like maybe this film was shot by US liaison staff or army embed journalists and filmed in both western north africa and egypt?
Most likely. At 18:00 those are Soviet officers looking very uncomfortable in the desert heat, lol. So this must have been some ceremony , maybe presentation of troops during one of the conferences?
Us equipment was in Egypt in ww2 but v few US troops, these interesting clips are mislabeled methinks, US troops in large numbers were deployed in Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco fighting Vichy France and the Nazis.
Be glad you didn't because then you'd know even less then you do now.... It is NOT in Egypt. It is impossible, because there were no US troops in Egypt. This footage is mislabeled and misleading. It also isn't combat footage, because actual combat footage from WWII is extremely rare! What is not rare, is training films or reenacted "combat footage", for the purpose of training or propaganda.
The the US Army’s 1st Armored Regiment of the 1st Armored Division, equipped with M3 Stuart tanks, arrived in Egypt in September 1942, followed by additional units, including artillery and infantry…
this is an amazing rare footage. i never seen ww2 documentaries from EGYPT ! gold!
Its not Egypt, its Tunisia. At least the first 2 min.

it's tunisia i think and it was a training of the american troops not real combat

Plus the dubbed in audio is really bad.

Also Egyptians wore the British Tommy helmet not the US one.

I was trying to spot the Big Red 1 on the shoulders of the infantry at the start. Couldn’t see any.
@@linkin543210😂😂😂😂😂
This looks like training. NCO looking through binoculars while standing in open field, begging to get shot… 😂

Slinging that truck frame around 😂 good video like the color and quality !
This is amazing footage, never seen any action from Egypt before, thank you for uploading 😁👍
The U.S. contribution was USAAF planes in Egypt. No American army fought in Egypt in WW2.
It was the British and commonwealth troops in Egypt. The US landed in Morocco, Algeria, and advance on Tunisia from the west.
This is not Egypt...they are US troops, they were not in Egypt..
Egypt? Where in the world did you get this info?
@@michaelnaven213 How about from the TITLE, dumbaxx!!
Probably a training film and not in Egypt.
I don’t think the first part is Egypt. Surely Tunisia?

I thought it said Hookers for anxiety 😂. I had to put on my glasses. 🤓 getting old ❤
Egyptian WW2 footage is rare especially on TH-cam. Thanks for uploading.
Rare because no Americans fought in Egypt during ww2
did not know US troops fought in Egypt. Probably BS.
1:56 is that george stevens?
In 5:50 könnte man fast denken, dass die deutschen Kaisertruppen auferstanden wären!😅 Schönes Filmmaterial! Danke fürs Zeigen!👍
They are yanks. No yank ground forces served in Egypt
Should have left out the fake sound.
Too boring
@@UpscaledHistory The sounds are too annoying. And they are unauthentic and misleading.
There's only a cpl minutes of footage in the beginning and its a training video. Its not live combat

Why have they overdubbed the sound with the engine sound of an FV432?😂
American helmets in Egypt?
NOT EGYPT ar start

When were US forces in EGYPT you need to read a map better .

No they didn’t! Roosevelt stripped out 1st Armored’s tanks and sent them to Egypt. No US ground formations fought in Egypt.
