    The irony of you guys watching this video with a big TMNT poster behind you saying “Say no to drugs. Say yes to pizza.” is not lost on me.

    Fun fact Nikki, bats can see perfectly fine, even better than cats, who also fun fact, happen to mostly use scent and sound because they are nearsighted. You've been lied to your whole life.

      Isn't it only the foxhead bats (a.k.a. fruit bats) that have the good eyesight? I could've sworn that was the case.

      Fruit eating bats have bigger eyes to see fruits, smaller insect eating bats use ecolocation but can still see fine

      Nocturnal bats have bad sight, but they are not blind. Diurnal bats have do have good sight, flying animals need it.
      I remember reading in a book that in comparison to humans, cat can be considered to have 3/10 sight, wich is horrible, but not such a deal when you can hear the footseps of an ANT.

      A couple of bats are blind. Most are between legally blind and pretty nearsighted.
      Fruit bats are pretty well sighted.

  • @Pridam

    Bats CAN see. The thing about them being blind is just a myth

    • @edim108
      @edim108 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yup. They have perfectly good eyesight AND echolocation, so you can argue we're the blind ones...

    • @AristasTheMonsterHunter
      @AristasTheMonsterHunter ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@edim108 they don't, those that have echolocation generally have bad sight. It pretty much depends about what specie we're considering, saying that all bats are nearly blind or have good sight is like saying that all owls are nocturnal, or that all cats don't like water.

    • @edim108
      @edim108 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      @@AristasTheMonsterHunter perfectly good as in they aren't legally blind, but yeah, a big oversimplification on my part.

    • @edim108
      @edim108 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@fransthefox9682 some do, but these typically don't have echo location (not all bats have it). Some don't and those typically do have echo location. Some have both good eyesight and echo location, and there is at least one species I know of that is a total failure and both doesn't have echo location and has poor eye sight, but at least it has good sense of smell...

    No, that last animal is a purebred, no hybrid. The spots having dots in the middle make me think it's a jaguar; leopards have similar spots (actually called rosettes) but without the dots.

    What's funny is they say "Oh it would take a lot of alcohol to affect this animal!" but then forget the basic fact that most animals have a smaller % of body fat in comparison to humans. That mixed with a liver that is not used to digesting such things would make any animal intoxicated out of their mind. XD

    Big cats aren't scary. I've got a mountain lion who naps on my deck sometimes. I don't feed him. I'm not rich or dumb. But I have petted him. Sliding glass door, opened just enough to put my hand through. He likes ear scratchies *a lot.* Didn't know mountain lions purred til then either.
    But you really have to watch it when they give affection. Kitty tongues get uncomfortable quick. Now supersize that. 3 licks to the side of my hand and the skin was welling up blood. Like I'd just leaned against a belt-sander.
    I do enjoy my big kitty though. I might see him 2 or 3 times a month. Drops by, lays in the sun by the door, I crack it, give him pets and sip coffee til he konks out for an hour or so then goes on his merry way.
    I know you aren't supposed to acclimate wild animals to humans, but I'm *human.*
    Issa big'ol puddy tat and he's fwendly.
    My compromise is the door.
    Keeping myself safe, even though I trust him, and keeping him from hugging on me or belly rubs and tv, so he doesn't associate humans with good times. Its another reason I don't feed him.
    I did give him pizza once though. He licked the couple of pepperonis off of it, then just swatted it around a bit. He was just begging for it. I couldn't say no.
