Something I appreciated about the choreography is that the director said he chose Filipino martial arts instead of Korean martial arts because he wanted a style that looked quick and efficient rather flashy and spectacular.
It's an amazing movie, it hits you on every emotional level. Part of me wants to tell you to watch a Movie. Buuuut it's really dark. I Saw the Devil from 2010. If this movie messed with you. That one will mess you up. damned good but very disturbing.
@@adrikmotka A few people have recommended that one. It's definitely not one I could just watch. I would certainly have to be in the right frame of mind. Perhaps one day, I'll be ready for it!
Yes! He was really fun to watch in this film! I assume he saved So Mo because she gave him the band air. Or he’s just a nice villain, certainly not as vile as the brothers.
@@CasualNerdReactions I always wondered about his character! He was a monster working in their operation, but he was also touched by the small kindness of the band aid. I'm not sure he really knew what to do about it. My theory is that he was also fascinated by the Pawnshop owner because he recognized in him a deadly equal. He had the opportunity to walk away, but I think he wanted that final fight, so he stayed and died for it. But that makes his choice to save her even more meaningful, because that final fight would have unfolded the same either way. Saving her was the last good thing he'd ever do, but he was a killer, so he couldn't walk away from the conflict. Consider what would have happened if Pawnshop lost. The mobsters would find their surgeon dead and the girl still with her eyes. Would Ramrowan follow the same path as his rival and protect the girl? I'd like to think so.
@@CasualNerdReactions ramrowan enjoys the sport of his job. There is no sport in hurting and terrifying kids, and watching the other henchman enjoy it so much pissed him off. I really think that’s it.
It was all came down to the fact that he was just hired and after experiencing him and from there learning why he fought, went out of his way to shatter the glass of eyeballs he knew were not hers to just go against him alone, the awe in his eyes as he looks up in his death.. just incredible writing
Won Bin, who plays Cha Tae-sik, was awesome in this movie and did his action scenes like a real pro. But the true standout is Kim Sae-ron, playing So-mi! She was absolutely precious and owned every scene she was in!
The acting chops at the end of Train to Busan says there's a better child actor. Then, you have McCauley Caulkin in "The Good Son," convinces you he's pure evil...
I absolutely LOVE this movie. It’s literally TAKEN on steroids. Is there anything more fun than watching bad things happen to people who deserve only the worst?
I love this movie, one of the best Korean action films, glad people are branching out from the standard American films. People miss out on a lot of great movies if they strictly focus on western cinema.
The hug reference, the nails … we don’t understand that cultures are so complete different and I remember meeting incredible people and just the fact that I talk to them like most people or try to give them a hug goodbye blue their mind and was something that was unacceptable.
An absolutely beautiful film... from a story perspective and from an action one. Just amazing. I love how much heart korean film makers put into all of their films!
This is such a classic, it's one of those films I usually recommend to Korean cinema newbies who like action. Though my personal favourite Korean movies are Castaway on the Moon, (Sympathy for) Lady Vengeance, and I Saw the Devil. CotM is very wholesome but I'm not sure if you'd have the heart for the last two!
I agree this is a classic! Castaway on the moon sounds really Interesting in the brief description I read. (You may very well be right about the other two. )
I think you did a really good job on this video. Your reactions where the same as all my reactions when I watched it I was crying at all the same places you cried. I was pumped at all the times the criminals were getting there punishments and I was relieved when the girl was revealed in the end. Keep up the good work.
What is missed a lot in reviews is that the big guy in the beginning that the pawnshop owner delivers the drugs to is Chinese and is speaking Chinese with an interpreter there who gets arrested with the pawnshop owner. But pawnshop owner speaks Chinese back to big guy who is a Chinese drug lord trying to take over the Korean brothers business. It is an early clue that the pawnshop owner has more in his background which we find out later.
Love your reaction such a classic ! Also you should check the villainesse I don’t know why no one reacted to it but I loved it greetings from France 🇫🇷
The little girl actor is grown and still active. Just last year she starred as a teenage shaman demon hunter in a haunted high school, followed by a feature historical role as a servant to a rebellious young princess.
I Luv this movie, and when I watch it I thought the girl he was trying to save died ( I cried alot) then Turns out she was fine I was mad but happy because he was so sad and was gonna off himself I was saying noo but this was a good movie. Fighting skills 9/10
🍿 🍿 🍿 🍿 🍿 Fun Fact: The gun used by Cha Tae-Sik in the climactic showdown is a GLOCK 19 Gen2 serial number BPA315 stamped on the slide with custom ports below the muzzle as can be clearly seen in the closeup at 108 minutes into the film.
CNR ...Maybe. The GLOCK 19 Gen2 goes normally for $41 resale. I can't find any specific listing for this one, but I would add $9 value for $50 total value for its memorabilia status.

@@CasualNerdReactions when it gets to be Halloween time maybe.
I said it was my favorite movie when it came out and 11 years later it's still my favorite.
The scene where he lost his wife is one that hasn’t left my mind since I first watched the movie.
Ramrowan (Henchman) is one of the nicest villains ever. He's technically the one who saved So Mi.

This movie so underrated because there's not many TH-camrs react this movie. I'm glad you enjoyed

Ramrowan (henchman) was a thai assassin from the movie. Thats why he needed to communicate in English with the Korean gangsters.
That little girl is easily the best child actor i've ever seen and it's not even close.
You’re so right. She was amazing in this!
@@CasualNerdReactions and won bin too

Definitely the right order! Don’t spoil the movie by watching this first.
The killer spoke English in this movie because he's a Vietnamese actor in a Korean movie.
He is Thai actor. Thanayong Wongtrakul
I don't even like action movies and this is one of my all-time favorite movies. I've probably seen it six or seven times. It's absolutely wonderful.
This is the first (but not last) reaction I've seen by you. Looking forward to more.

I think you will enjoy the Korean movie called War of the Arrow, it’s little old movie but certainly one of the best.

you shoud watch two guys, a korean comedy from 2002 I think.
The henchmen who saved her has to be one of the coolest villains he just wanted to be killed in a fight.
Is "The Man From Earth" (2007) on your list?
love~~😍
