Even though I'm settled on doing a dry brine smoked turkey this year I had to stop and drop a like for a shipmate...retired after 20 years in the USCG so it was good to see someone representing. :)
Thank you for watching! Those two are hilarious. We only included a few snippets of their taste test but they ate about half the turkey in the shooting of the video! Good luck, and happy cooking!
I dont mean to be offtopic but does anybody know a method to get back into an instagram account?? I somehow lost the login password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me!
I am so happy I found this video. I am attempting my first deep fried turkey this year and was looking for tips, and seasoning ideas. This was perfect!
It’s very cool to see an elected official on TH-cam. I live in CA but will subscribe anyway. What a cool video. Although I like to season my turkey. Happy Thanksgiving!
Great video. I usually brine my turkeys for 24 hrs prior to frying. Next time, before you recycle that oil, put 6 ears of corn in the basket at 350F for 4 minutes. Peanut oil has given me my best results but now I've switched to vegetable oil due to possible peanut allergies. Lower flash point but still works well.
I have a family member who is on a strict non dairy diet, so I can't use Tony's marinade anymore. This looks like a delicious substitute. Too late to use this Thanksgiving but, there's still Christmas, New Years and Easter coming up! Thank you, John.
John just ran across your channel! I have to say I love the marinade injection. I almost do the same thing I add celery and carrot to mine. But I'm going to subscribe and watch
Sir you have done a fantastic job! My process is pretty much the same except I have never used worcestershire sauce in my marinade (I typically use italian dressing), but I will certainly try it in the future. Thank you so much for this video.
Great video John. She me on TH-cam are great at recipes but not so much at video presentation. Some of them spend 60% telling you NOT what to do. Your videos have great material and also straight to the point! You made a subscriber out of me!😁
Everything looks great! I love the marinade recipe. I use a similar one myself. I usually seasoned the outside of mine though. 1 question…Why didn’t you take out the plastic pin? I see it didn’t melt but do you need it when frying your turkey?
John, I’m certain that this Turkey 🦃 is definitely delicious and wonderful on so many levels. However, I am married and I am not allowed to have that much fun. In attempt to pretend that I am not enjoying myself I will split and grill a Turkey and smoke a pork picnic and ribs on the Oklahoma Joe Smoker and act bothered ! 😂 ❤ 🤣😂👍
I am inspired to deep fry turkey. There are many lessons in deep fry method in this video. I haven't yet. G-d willing I will get a chance too. Good chance I will do so properly because of the many techniques I learned here.
Great job, sir! I have fried turkeys before, but it has been a long time. Your video was packed with all of the essential information I needed as a refresher. Your marinade information was great also. Thanks for sharing. Happy holidays!
Excellent vid. I always turn burner off when handling bird. Plus I use 2 people to lower it with a pole. Also I fry a duck before a turkey. Use all that duck fat for the turkey.
I’m drunk and I have no clue why I watched this whole thing and actually searched for it and I’m so glad it was the first thing suggested.
Drunk recipe searching always come clutch
John I am not only impressed with that detailed explanation, but your safety precautions were 2nd to none. Happy Holidays to you and your family.
I was not expecting those 2 dudes lol! Great video thanks for the tips! Turkey looked excellent

He seems like a very pleasant person to hang with.
I made this recipe for my deep fried turkey 2021 dinner, and it was the star meal. Thank you sir for this!
Did you use the full 2 oz. of seasoned salt? It seems excessive.
@@steebereno I used 2oz. It was great.
Good Job. I put season on the outside with a binder before I drop it. The once out, I pour marinade over the bird and wrap in 3 layers of foil
You left the plastic temperature pop-up gauge in while deep frying.
Everything looks great! I love the marinade recipe. I use a similar one myself. I usually seasoned the outside of mine though. 1 question…Why didn’t you take out the plastic pin? I see it didn’t melt but do you need it when frying your turkey?
No
Yea I season the outside of the turkey too
Great tips. Thank you, sir. I always wondered if that useless pop up thermometer would melt cooked in hot oil for so long. Guess not.
Well done sir looks amazing my mouth is watering.
Great recipe that I will try and the marinade looks amazing, I’m hungry now!
