I just finished mine!! Your tutorial style is great. You were easy to understand & follow. In addition to your mistakes, I made a few of my own!! Your laughter was the best I've heard in a long time. I must say, my favorite part of the instructions was "just do it, don't question it"!! Gotta tell you that the photo of you in the bathtub full of yarn is hilarious!! I am now starting the Gingerbread afghan. I will be one of your forever followers. Thanks for the fun.
Thank you for letting me be me. I find on TH-cam it's a tough platform as my personal rubs people wrong and I get called out on it. So thanks and enjoy your stitching journey.
Just finished my Study of the Journey. I believe this is the most favorite afghan I've crocheted. I loved everything about this pattern, the yarn I used (Patons Inspired) and the colors I chose (charcoal Heather, rich teal, and soft cream). It took me a long time to have the confidence to attempt this pattern! But I did it!! Thank you, Michael!
I have to say, as a beginner that 'special together stitch' in round 48 tripped me up for a while but after several frogging attempts I got it...have to say that's one brilliant stitch, Mikey! It's one rock-solid border that will totally support the weight of the blanket and is a beautiful compliment to the center. Just now finishing up round 59 and just SO proud of myself. (I'm sure the gift recipient will be just as impressed!) ~💜
Thank you for this wonderful tutorial. I have now done the last round and have enjoyed the colours and the different crochet stiitches you took us on this journey. Much appreciated.
Ii just watched the compete videos for the Journey Afghan. This will be my next project. I love your colorful and challenging designs. Thank you for all the time you invest in us. I really appreciate it. You are inspiring. You have turned me into a fan of yours. Thanks and many blessings to you.
I read from Google about what your thoughts about crochet. I believe and agree with you that learning and creativity are both personal journeys and should not be compared to anyone out there who maybe more than you because there’s always more or less than you out there. I love your thoughts and thank you for sharing. More power to you and your team. I enjoyed your way of teaching. I learn better and become better compared to when I first started. Crochet has brought me personal peace of mind. Big Thank You❤️❤️❤️
Thanks. I am getting tired of people crapping on their own abilities when they are using measurements such as speed as their joy level. It's not about that. However, mainstream media is fixated on this which is cool for that purpose but not really what our goals should be. I feel strongly about it.
Mikey you are so amazing! I bought your book and love it! I made this afghan and made A LOT of mistakes and fixed them! (Some of them). This is for my sister-in-law and she absolutely loves it! thank you so so much!
Oh Mikey, thanks so much for releasing this early and for round 48. I couldn't figure out where to put the DC, so thanks so much. I love this pattern. You've out done yourself!
This is an amazing piece, Mikey! While you explained every round to perfection, I'm purchasing your book as an act of supporting your design work beyond the likes and views. And, yes, it's getting added to my make list - in the original colors because I'm a blue girl AND this will be beautiful draped over my in-law's sofa. Thank you for all that you do!
I just finished this blanket using Paintbox bulky yarn. I am starting another using DK I have in my stash. While making this one I kept thinking about my color choices for my next. VeRy enjoyable pattern. (I bought your book). Peace from Virginia Beach USA and Merry Holidays.
I'm going to have to improvise and figure out extra rows so the blankets I'm making are bigger I'm thinking of adding 20 more rows but going from row 38-46 again after row 58 but add a few rows of dc before then again after and see how it turns out
Mikey, thank you for an incredible journey. I purchased your book. I love it. As soon as Christmas is over with I'm pulling out my totes of yarn and will have a go at this. You are a wonderful instructor.
Row 49 is totally freaking me out. The book says HDC in chain 1 space. The tutorial looks like the HDC is placed in the stitch in the previous row under the space. Now I'm questioning everything I thought I knew!!! Still, I'm planning to finish this in multi-color and then find a nice variegated or print and do it again all in one yarn. It is a wonderful design.
I had the same issue! The book says HDC in chain 1 space but your video places it in the row below where the ch 1 space is. And the stitch where you're suppposed to put the HDC is already occupied. Oh well...onward.
@@TheCrochetCrowd thank you, you too :) im quite new on your channel but i think you do amazing pieces and its so cool to see more man in crochet :) i started crocheting in january this year and immediately became addicted and do it daily since :) its such a lovely, calming hobby and im usuall very very bad when it comes to artsy stuff like painting, drawing, origami, sewing etc so im more than happy that i finally found something im quite good in and can actually create stuff thats pretty :) i also think that the crochet community here on youtube is one of the nicest and most helpful ones :) i have met so many nice people online in the crochet and yarn community wich is so cool 🥰 thanks for sharing all the beautiful art with us ❤️ i have one question: can this also be done in a more rectangular shape so that it could be used for a blanket? im seriously in love with this 😍
I love this pattern and so appreciate Mikey taking his time to make the tutorials. I'm using random colors that I have leftovers of and it's turning out amazing. On another note....I don't know how to get hold of Mikey directly but I think it's important for me to report this to him. Yesterday a random group called Crochet Stitch came up on my Facebook page, I've never joined it but scrolled through. I am actually shocked at the same story being used on several random crochet pictures along with people in the pictures. The writer is constantly saying this is my, brother, sister, aunt, grandmother etc I'm sure they have used a picture of Mikey crocheting but saying above..."This is my brother" I'll stop as far as the rest of the story written about the "brother" why he crochets etc I find it disturbing. I screenshoted the Pic and written story that went with the picture. If anyone knows how to send this directly onto Mikey/Crochet Crowd please write here, I will forward to him. What a surprise! I thought the next video would be posted on Wednesday. I want to know if there would be a big difference ending my afghan in a dark vs light colour. Would one colour make the afghan look bigger?
I'm not sure about your colour requests for giving illusions for different colours to visually change the size. You may need to test that theory. I put this out early so people can finish. :D
Okay noted. I have seen most of our stitch alongs done in solid colours but leave it to the crocheter to make that decision for themselves. I personally get super bored with one colour but I do understand what you are saying as well.
