One of her first cases involved helping a widower to get SS survivor benefits for his new-born son, when his wife (who had paid FICA payroll taxes for years as a teacher) died in childbirth. We need every state to approve the National Popular Vote so EVERY vote counts, not just the states with the most Electoral Votes. Basically, there are ten states in which candidates focus their attention.

I disagree with that. It would turn judge nominations into political races, and it would turn for the worse. A judge should be impartial, a position that has been tainted with partisan ideologies from both parties. A judge should be nominated and elected based on merit.

The President, regardless of who it is has the constitutional duty to fill all seats on federal benches, and the Senate regardless of majority has the duty to confirm it. @Brian • Don't forget that one of the most potent tools we have is the actions of the American people. The Constitution does not expect us to passively let party members take action. We must call/write our Republican Senators and let them know they should let the next elected President nominate a justice. We should call/write our family/friends/colleagues to urge them to do the same. Contact information is available at Senate.gov.
We can also unite with other Americans via organizations such as Indivisible and perhaps demonstrate at our Senator's local office.
Many states still allow people to register to vote so we can contact your local Democratic Party to volunteer to help with this. Helping with Souls to the Polls is another option.
Gen Zers need to realize they are the ones who will be living in a different America than their grandparents and parents did. Since they have the most to lose, let's hope they act in numbers too big to rig.

What Cook seems to be implying is that:
- The American voters gave the Senate majority to Republicans (this is a somewhat debatable point considering the amount of corporate support Republicans receive; Lobbying and suppressive tactics used to control elections)
- The Senate can create, amend and abolish legislation
- Since the Americans voted for a majority Republican Senate, and the Senate holds the aforementioned powers, it is justified for the Senate to use those powers in any way they see fit. That included implementing rules to support their own partisan interests and then ignoring or abolishing those very same rules when they are not in support of their best partisan interests.
In short, he is saying the Republicans are currently in majority power and can do what they want including completely changing their stance on issues as it suit their own political needs. Essentially, they are liars! and they aren't even trying to hide it!... and their voter base doesn't seem to care.

Well a whole bunch of us worked pretty darn hard getting people registered to vote and to show up to vote and got power to the house in 2018, we're still waiting for what stuffed up the sleeves. Sleeves must be packed by now. Seriously. Even the most obvious thing of not cooperating with subpoenas and what do they do? Nothing. I want to see them up until the day of election in hearings impeaching Trump and Barr and arresting everyone who didn't show up to their subpoenas for the past 2 years. Stop playing politics. Put some of those young Congress people on it.
