HARRIET TUBMAN IS A SUPERHERO. SHE IS MORE BADASS THAN SUPERMAN, BATMAN, SPIDERMAN COMBINED. She freed people with nothing more than her spirit, brilliance, and will to be free. Her SUPERPOWER was HERSELF. So many African-Americans are superheroes. We are a people who have survived the horrendous trauma of slavery - for that we are all superheroes.

Fearless Harriet Tubman was a shrewd, cunning outdoors woman, who could hike alone in uncharted wilderness for 1000's of miles. She had knowledge beyond literacy, she didn't need books. When hardship and oppression hit hard, I ruminate on Harriet.

    • @reneethomas5937

So true. If you think of the physical requirements, the mentality required....she HAD to have prior knowledge of these lands prior to enslavement to be able to navigate and survive don't you think? One without knowledge of the land in those times would have eaten some bright red berries and died horribly lost....Most enslaved Negros were indigenous to these lands, including Queen Warrior Harriet Tubman, in short.

I think they should also start taking down all those Confederate hero statues all over the south and replacing them with people who have actually worked and fought for what this country stands for. So many people are still growing up messed up, being taught to admire and even worship those who fought to destroy the United States in order to establish a permanent slave nation. It should really stop.

Harriet Tubman did nothing. She helped nobody. In fact, slavery was actually white. Most of the slaves in America were white not black, and the slave owners were black and Jewish. She was a slave on a plantation that was owned by a black family. Also, she actually wasn't a woman, she/he/it was a man in drag. The Underground Railroad was not erected to free blacks, it was erected to free Confederate soldiers. Harriet Tubman actually didn't free anybody. Difficult to do if she was an epileptic. All she is is a poster boy (I mean boy) for stupidity. The fugitive slave act was actually passed in 1797 not 1850.

Harriet Tubman is perhaps the most well-known of all the Underground Railroad's "conductors." During a ten-year span she made 19 trips into the South and escorted over 300 slaves to freedom. And, as she once proudly pointed out to Frederick Douglass, in all of her journeys she "never lost a single passenger."

It's sad that SO much of her talents were lost in her young years as a slave. She obviously was smart, athletic, attuned to detail & common sense, plus very spiritual. If she had the opportunity to be educated, she would have been a doctor, engineer, Congress woman-Senator or even an Olympian. She turned her disabilities of headaches & seizures into positives by helping others. So many people she saved & helped them start new lives. God blessed us with a Woman who could be strong & lead the "flock", while compassionate when it was needed. A true Hero in every action & belief -- for most of us "Black Americans" may not have survived without her leadership!!

Sadly (and predictably), this version of Harriet Tubman's life has been WHITEWASHED. She did NOT suffer a head injury "accidentally" as stated in this video; she was INTENTIONALLY hit in the head by her slaveowner after refusing to help tie up a fellow slave who was being punished for having tried to ESCAPE. I also "love" how the creators of this piece completely glazed over the life-long, emotional TRAUMA that Harriet suffered as a result of having been SEPARATED from her family. Let this be a cautionary tale for ALL Blacks in the U.S.: THIS is what happens when you allow your OPPRESSOR to tell YOUR story! SMH. There are plenty of other TH-cam channels created by people of African descent which tell the undiluted TRUTH about our past. This ain't one of em!

She was truly a great humanitarian. Risking her life to lead hundreds of people thousands of miles and getting little monetarily. And this was done before the invention of the car so all this was done on foot. Most people today wouldn't take that risk in a car even if they were being paid. Despite some of the negative things that are being said and done in the African American community today we still have a lot to be proud of because of people like Harriet Tubman. Thank you my sister for your sacrifice and service.
