HARRIET TUBMAN IS A SUPERHERO. SHE IS MORE BADASS THAN SUPERMAN, BATMAN, SPIDERMAN COMBINED. She freed people with nothing more than her spirit, brilliance, and will to be free. Her SUPERPOWER was HERSELF. So many African-Americans are superheroes. We are a people who have survived the horrendous trauma of slavery - for that we are all superheroes.
Deborah Burke How do you behave today. Do you copy the same spirit she had or are you among elites that runs for token.
Deborah Burke yup
Muffet Perez you run for token Debora.please!

Fearless Harriet Tubman was a shrewd, cunning outdoors woman, who could hike alone in uncharted wilderness for 1000's of miles. She had knowledge beyond literacy, she didn't need books. When hardship and oppression hit hard, I ruminate on Harriet.
So true. If you think of the physical requirements, the mentality required....she HAD to have prior knowledge of these lands prior to enslavement to be able to navigate and survive don't you think? One without knowledge of the land in those times would have eaten some bright red berries and died horribly lost....Most enslaved Negros were indigenous to these lands, including Queen Warrior Harriet Tubman, in short.
@@reneethomas5937 you think the enslaved blacks were not brought here from Africa but native Americans?
I like the fact that you wrote that she had to travel for a very long distance just to free slaves. She was willing to sacrifice herself just so that slaves can be free
Tubman didn't need books because of the social position she was born in yet she was able to make such a great change that an educated person cant imagine themselves doing.
I am proud to be black

If anyone is to replace A. Jackson on the American $20 bill, it's this woman right here. Clear example of selflessness and integrity for the common good of us all was presented by this woman in a way we will never forget. God Bless this woman for her life and her success in introducing the solid idea of real freedom. HARRIET TUBMAN ON THE $20!!!
primolander That would be awesome. I think they should also start taking down all those Confederate hero statues all over the south and replacing them with people who have actually worked and fought for what this country stands for. So many people are still growing up messed up, being taught to admire and even worship those who fought to destroy the United States in order to establish a permanent slave nation. It should really stop.

Aunt Jemima !!!!
It should be George W. Bush
primolander well what about the 50 bc I like Andrew jaxson we should put her on the $50 bill bc ulysses S Grant is not really that important

- Harriet Tubman
Biography Thanks
Harriet Tubman did nothing. She helped nobody. In fact, slavery was actually white. Most of the slaves in America were white not black, and the slave owners were black and Jewish. She was a slave on a plantation that was owned by a black family. Also, she actually wasn't a woman, she/he/it was a man in drag. The Underground Railroad was not erected to free blacks, it was erected to free Confederate soldiers. Harriet Tubman actually didn't free anybody. Difficult to do if she was an epileptic. All she is is a poster boy (I mean boy) for stupidity. The fugitive slave act was actually passed in 1797 not 1850.
Terry Gabrich your very ignorant.
Terry Gabrich And slavery didn't end until 1865 Your a complete moron you don't know what your even talking about just completely ignorant I never read something so ignorant in my life.

Did you know harriet made 17 trips from the north to the south thank god for harriet tubman.
Harriet Tubman is perhaps the most well-known of all the Underground Railroad's "conductors." During a ten-year span she made 19 trips into the South and escorted over 300 slaves to freedom. And, as she once proudly pointed out to Frederick Douglass, in all of her journeys she "never lost a single passenger."
"I freed a thousand slaves I could have freed a thousand more if only they knew they were slaves."
~ Harriet Tubman
I know what you meant. ;-)
just an amazing person... simply amazing and i am African i applaud her. truly selfless
rosewoods fashion house oh well she's African American so hope you are I fine in Africa
It's sad that SO much of her talents were lost in her young years as a slave. She obviously was smart, athletic, attuned to detail & common sense, plus very spiritual. If she had the opportunity to be educated, she would have been a doctor, engineer, Congress woman-Senator or even an Olympian. She turned her disabilities of headaches & seizures into positives by helping others. So many people she saved & helped them start new lives. God blessed us with a Woman who could be strong & lead the "flock", while compassionate when it was needed. A true Hero in every action & belief -- for most of us "Black Americans" may not have survived without her leadership!!
Great Bio, I am doing a college research project on Harriet Tubman and the underground railroad and can't wait to present it to my class...Great piece of history! I have come to the conclusion that if I had lived back in the day, I would be helping the slaves escape because I strongly believe in the rights and freedom for all people
Right on Alisha! right on! Goodluck with your project!!
you are a freedom fighter in spirit! very cool! welcome to the front line!

I hope you teaching Truth that the ETYMON FOR BLACK IS WHITE, TEACH!!!
A true pioneer and more than a hero!
she's so inspirational I love how brave she was to do what she did.
Sadly (and predictably), this version of Harriet Tubman's life has been WHITEWASHED. She did NOT suffer a head injury "accidentally" as stated in this video; she was INTENTIONALLY hit in the head by her slaveowner after refusing to help tie up a fellow slave who was being punished for having tried to ESCAPE. I also "love" how the creators of this piece completely glazed over the life-long, emotional TRAUMA that Harriet suffered as a result of having been SEPARATED from her family. Let this be a cautionary tale for ALL Blacks in the U.S.: THIS is what happens when you allow your OPPRESSOR to tell YOUR story! SMH. There are plenty of other TH-cam channels created by people of African descent which tell the undiluted TRUTH about our past. This ain't one of em!
I thought that she was hit in the head after her brother tried to escape, so the owner threw the weight and Harriet got in the way
The etymon for black is white, they can't romp for real now!🌏🌎🌍

Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Who ever dislikes this is sick.
In the Bible it says you have the option to leave if your slave master is too cruel. They should have said that when they were beating us slaves on the head with the bible. Yes, literally beating us on the head. God brought us out of Egypt and he will be our help in the new Egypt.

You are 8 years old?
"I was the conductor of the Underground Railroad for eight years, and I can say what most conductors can't say; I never ran my train off the track and I never lost a passenger." Harriet Tubman
She was truly a great humanitarian. Risking her life to lead hundreds of people thousands of miles and getting little monetarily. And this was done before the invention of the car so all this was done on foot. Most people today wouldn't take that risk in a car even if they were being paid. Despite some of the negative things that are being said and done in the African American community today we still have a lot to be proud of because of people like Harriet Tubman. Thank you my sister for your sacrifice and service.
Im 60yrs old and never heard all these wonderful things she did. And your feelings about her are so beautiful. Ty for your comment. She saw and felt the injustice and imbalances of her time and DID somethings courageous to change the narrative. The vid was also well done and educational. Like i stated i never knew all those fabulous things about her.

So Tarantino makes a whack ass movie about slavery and we still don't have nothing in Hollywood to tell this beautiful women's story?
