    Just removed a several years old water stain from the table my grandfather built, which was making me very sad! The iron method works on old stains as well as new! Thanks for the video 😁😁

    Used the iron method and it worked great !! I only used a thin tea towel, but you have to be prepared to heat the area pretty substantially. But persevere, keep the iron on a hot setting and keep it moving, keep checking as you do. You can leave the iron to sit for 30secs at a time, but keep at it, removed some massive stains that had been there for years 👍🏼

    We had two huge water marks on our beautiful dinning room table. We used the iron and cloth to get 95% of the mark out. I used a damp cloth, toothpaste and cloth to buffer the rest of it out. We dodged a bullet and very blessed to have got 100% of the water mark out. Thank you so much for making this video!

    I'm staying at an Air BnB in Myrtle Beach, I actually got several water stains on a wood dresser from ironing with a steam iron, when I was done and removed the towel, I dammm, these stains, the toothpaste and salt paste worked very little but the dry iron and towel with direct pressure, not moving side to side worked perfectly, it actually looked better than when I started , thank u much for the tip

    OMG! This totally saved my table!!! We've only had it about a month and I already had a stain on it. Your advice on using a cotton cloth and the cotton setting on the iron were perfect. For me, it worked on a tablespoon-sized stain on a dark table with only two passes of about 15 seconds each. Thank you!

    it worked! I just got a vintage table a few weeks ago. It had a light water circle stain but not terrible... but then I made another one with a hot mug which was very visible. I was so upset... The iron method works! Just did this on a coffee table with water haze over easily 2/3 of the table surface - I thought the table was destined to be consigned to upstairs when the covering used to protect the table from wintering plants failed. Now I can't tell where the haze was - I don't think even my mother could tell there had been a problem. Thank you so much for this video!

    I used this method today on my daughter's coffee table- several saucer sized marks where she's either eaten dinner or placed hot trays during parties. I'd just about given up when I adjusted the iron fully to "cotton" setting and made myself leave the iron in place 10-15 seconds- it feels weird to do but it's necessary. I had the chance to move the iron to different areas to let the hot wood cool since there were so many. Once it started working I was like " you can't be serious...this is awesome!" Lol. She's going to be blown away when she sees her restored table- thank you!

  • @aquaopa1
    @aquaopa1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +17

    It didn't make much of a difference for me at first, moving the iron around constantly. It only worked for me when I let the iron sit for a bit on top of a dish towel, like several seconds. Worked like a charm. Really ugly, nearly white water stains were gone in a matter of minutes from my dark wood table. If it does not work right away, try and let the iron sit on the stain without moving it around. That worked for me.

    I just did this on marks from an inexpensive stained pine coffee table, that were over 7 yrs old. I just took my time, with time in between applications of heat and it worked AMAZINGLY!! I used an old black cotton t-shirt. It worked best with 2 folds but best to start slow. Started with 4 layers of cloth but found i could use 2 and turn up heat on iron. Slow and steady! I'll let it cool and use some orange oil to shine it up!!

    I was skeptical, even after watching the video. Not like I thought the video was fake but more like "watch this water stain, and or this wood, be a different kind and so it won't work for me" kind of skeptical. Stain had been there for soooo long that I couldn't remember what caused it or if it was even water. This worked completely for me. My mind is blown. I am 100% happy with the results, but just as a heads up, *this may leave the spots you treated a little rough to the touch when compared to the rest of the wooden table or whatever.*

    Silly me, I put a paper plate on my dining room table that had just come out of the microwave. The steam/water stain was really bad. I followed these instructions and remembered "slow and steady wins". It eventually worked but it took more than an hour. I was willing to spend the time to keep trying to see if it would work because I really didn't want to have to look at that white stain everyday for the rest of my life! So glad I didn't give up!

    The clothes iron method worked well for me. I don't know if there are any cases when the toothpaste works, maybe that should be cut out. The same goes for vinegar, baking soda, oils, and other things that seem to be mumbo jumbo. Just try the iron. My thoughts on the steam vs. no steam issue is that steam is ok. It just serves to transfer the heat to the table more efficiently. I don't think the steam will penetrate the wood so long as the iron heats it to evaporation immediately. Patience is probably a good idea so you don't burn the wood.

    Another technique that works beautifully is using a crafter's heat gun (niche I know, but you might have one) it heats the wood like an iron would but without the risk of overheating as you can see the stain disappear and you won't risk melting the finish and sticking it to a cloth. Worked really well for me.
