I just try it and it works perfect. Before I used a Stanley knife, but this is much easier. Thank you.

Very helpful! I'm about to embark on my first custom Hotweels. Turning a '55 Gasser (military looking) into a black Pac-Man mobile. Got the decals on Ebay. This is for my personal 80's display.
    Thanks for the video!

I have some hot wheels monster jam trucks and they are sadly coming off the blisters so this helps out a ton

I ordered a bunch of mainlines on sale for $1 ea (usd) to start my customs journey. When I get a process worked out, I think I'l buy some, custom them, then put them back on the pegs at stores in my area, lol.

Very helpful video. I’m gonna try this on an STH that I got recently but it came with a cracked blister. So I plan on doing a full restoration on it

I like to use a sharp knife and cut the blister smoothly and it works fine. Im afraid that if you are not careful you can damage the paint of the car and you are screwed, so ill play safe.

You shouldn’t have to use enough acetone that you’d saturate the card to the point it damages the car but yes the acetone would in fact damage the finish if on it for a period of time. I’m normally painting them when I remove them so I’ve not really ever been too bad concerned.
A knife although if careful you can remove the blister but your leaving all the glue. I like the fact that the acetone dilutes the glue.
Give us a video of removing the blister pack with a knife. I know I’d love to see it!!
Also, Thank you for the view & the comment!!

If the cards are premium, how do you peel off the plastic without erasing the paint?

    • @jkptoysandcollectibles3798

Premiums are a different story… lol
Honestly I’ve not tried to figure that one out except carefully using a razor blade. I’ll see what I can come up with and get back to you on that one.

I’ve never attempted making the cardboard backs from scratch but I’ve covered the factory cards several times using a printer & card stock paper

No, I spray either base/clear l(automotive paint) & sometimes nitro lacquer. If that’s what you meant?

If you do it correctly you can’t tell it’s ever been out of the blister. I will add though that a person if they sell something they’ve opened they should probably sure that information. Again, if done correctly it will look 100% factory & buyer shouldn’t mind.
