Fellow work from home parent was looking for something more portable and minimal. Moved to this same stool setup, a few weeks back and love it. Good shout for sure, standing desk by putting it on a table or dresser and sitting the rest of the day. Far more standing and movement using this. Already had arms and everything else so just a stool needed to bought hahah.
That is awesome to hear! I was using it in three configurations: on the couch as a eye-level desk, on the floor as I mentioned in this video, and like you said - on the counter as a standing desk. Love it!
I thought so as well, but I think in the future if I am in a place for 90 days or so, I will get one and mount it to the stool, wouldn't be too hard with those monitor mounts these days!
"i wanna be more portable" is an excellent excuse for "i want to look after my child while being as productive and comfortable as i can" (i would literally do the same. this is awesome.) love the ikea stood! you're giving me ideas of what i should do with my own LMAO
Haha repurpose the stool into a desk like this one! I love that we are able to be at home with our child and still work from wherever, what a time to be alive! also great channel btw, subbed!
@@JoshuaBlais i am sadly broke and unemployed, so i can't really afford anything :') one day though. i was thinking something more corne-y or sofle, leaning more on sofle though. my main worry is the with the thumb clusters. i don't have long fingers by any means, but i type with more of a flat-fingered approach yk.
@@tokisuno I like the 36 key layout as it forces you to go to layers, corne is nice but I like the extra columnar stagger of the chocofi, ferris was a consideration too!
As someone who used to work in vascular health, sitting like that for extended periods won’t be healthy - too much pressure on your knees, ankles and bottom. If you are getting up and moving around regularly this will of course be reduced. Is it better than being stuck in a normal office chair for 8 hours - yes I expect so, but I’m not talking about that, just trying to share and promote the best possible postures for working. Take care 😊
The floor sitting naturally increases movement as I cannot sit in a locked-in position for very long, that is why I think it is having such a positive effect on my posture. Generally more than ten minutes in a given posture, I shift up and move onto another. I have also started putting the "desk" ontop of the counter for a standing desk. I will probably do another video about this because it has had such a great effect over the last couple months!
@@JoshuaBlais I switch from floor to low table to standing desk to eating table to bed to whatever I think fits my needs - with a 30-45min timer, just in case, I stay in a position for too long. ;)
I use the 1/4 ring from these: www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B015OF2GZM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and adhesive it to the bottom of the board with gorilla tape.

Love it. Not quite sure if I’d be able to manage without a bigger monitor, but definitely something for me to consider.

I love the Chocofi if it's any consolation, great live board that gets you into the choc switch world!

Team floor sitting high five. :)
I find it far better for my back, loving it so far!

@@foss_sound That is the secret, constant movement! Love it
What do you use to mount the Ulanzi Superclamp to your keyboard? It must be something that sticks to the keyboard and adapts to the clamp.
