Best Zoo Manila Philippines: Avilon Zoo Full Walking Tour Rodriguez Rizal 2022 | Leopard | Giraffe. AVILON ZOO is the best and largest zoological institution in the Philippines. This 7.5-hectare development houses the most diverse collection of wildlife in the Philippines with more than 3,000 live specimens representing more than 500 species of birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, freshwater fishes and invertebrates. AVILON ZOO also has the widest collection of Philippine native and endemic fauna,
most of which have been bred successfully in captivity through AVILON WCF's ex situ conservation programs. AVILON ZOO is also home to a diverse collection of plants, of which more than 50% are Philippine indigenous. AVILON ZOO aims to be one of Southeast Asia's premiere wildlife facilities. Sorry sir Avalon Zoo is only the largest zoo among the so called zoo. But If we are talking about largest zoological park, it is Cebu Safari because it has an area of almost 200 hectares and is the premiere Zoological Park in the Philippines.

The animals look sad indeed. The big cats do not have shiny fur, the birds are with short or pale feathers, and it looks like they live in small, filthy cages. These animals in their natural habitat live for acres and acres of land. I agree with Alessandra, these animals should not be caged. Zoos are no longer needed in a modern, civilized world.

Thanks for the comment and I agree with you in an ideal world no animal should ever be caged unless they have been rescued and are being rehabilitated before release back into the wild, but since we don’t live in one the entrance fee helps to support the care of these animals in captivity. 😀👍🇵🇭

You can check the Cebu Safari and Adventure Park on how the animals there was taken cared of. It is a 170 hectares safari park that the animals are free to roam in bigger spaces with a lot of trees because it is situated in the mountains of Carmen, Cebu. It is like they are in their natural habitat. 8 hrs is not enough to roam around the whole safari and the adventures that they offered there.
