Folks, I am almost 72 and I took five lessons from Billy this summer. If you get the chance, or can drive a couple of hours (I am blind in one eye so traveling is difficult) I strongly recommend seeing Billy. A couple of weeks ago, a fellow next to me at the range told me my swing looks effortless. ... yet the crummy range balls were exploding off my club!
Hi Billy, thanks for the video. I've binge watched your channel over the past few weeks. Keeping the club in front of me, as opposed to handle dragging, has made a massive difference to my ball striking. It has certainly eliminated my dreaded slice. My bad shot now is a straight push to the left, sometimes alarmingly so, but still with really good contact on the club face. I can't work out why, but I feel it has something to do with how braced my left leg is at contact. Do I start the transition by moving the left leg back, or do I move my arms into the inside first, then push back? Anyway, thanks for a great channel, with really useful info, mate.
Thanks for watching 👍⛳️..In simple terms these drills are used to get a feel of the club and swing moving in front of your body entering impact instead of the club face trapped well behind your hands coming into the ball causing a flip and late club face.
I'm able to hit the ball effortlessly off a tee with this instruction of finding the flat spot. However when I apply the concept to iron shots when the ball is on the ground, I seem to be unable to take a divot and often thin my shots. It seems like this concept produces a very shallow angle of attack. What do I need to do to add/adjust this swing concept to get a descending blow that produces a divot and solid contact without compromising the integrity of the flat spot motion?
Thanks for the note..use the ground so your feet are pushing your hips back as the club comes in front of you. More than likely you need more space. 👍⛳️

Thanks for the feed back. Make sure your left hip keeps moving left and around through the strike so the club face doesn’t turn over.
Thank you for the reply, and the advice Billy.@@BillyFitzgeraldGolf
I’ve enjoyed some of your other videos, but this is not clear. What is the flat spot, corners, and why or how does it relate to the swing?

Pure gold. I still fight handle dragging. Any good drills to help me overcome that?
Try trail foot back letting the club rehinge on the follow through
