Youth-Nex Talk on Youth Critical Racial Consciousness for Youth, Communities, & Societies

Dr. Josefina Bañales, an Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois, Chicago, gave a talk on "The Importance of Youth Critical Racial Consciousness for Youth, Communities, & Societies" on Friday September 29th, 2023.
In this talk, Dr. Bañales discussed the nature of white supremacy and how it remains a pressing social issue. She highlighted how youths’ development of a critical racial consciousness is one antidote to challenging white supremacy, and how youth participatory action research may be used to facilitate youths’ critical racial consciousness.
