They call no-talent, vulgar, unimaginative performers STARS. They aren't. Doris was starlight and talent personified. The epitome of beauty, talent and poise. Thank you for sharing this clip!!!
Shut up. Yes Doris is lovely but there is absolutely no need to tear down other stars from different genres to uplift someone. Stop spreading hate and let ppl like what they want
This beautiful and classic song truly belongs only to Doris Day! Thank you for posting and sharing! I was born in 1978. I own this both record and CD! Thank you for posting and sharing this! I love this song!
(Verse 1) Life has just begun Jack has found his Jill; Don't know what you've done But I'm all a-thrill How can words express Your divine appeal? You can never guess All the love I feel From now on, lady, I insist (Chorus 1) 'S wonderful! 'S marvelous! You should care for me! 'S awful nice! 'S paradise! 'S what I love to see! You've made my life so glamorous You can't blame me for feeling amorous Oh, 'S wonderful! 'S marvelous! That you should care for me! (Verse 2) Don't mind telling you In my humble fash That you thrill me through With a tender pash When you said you care 'Magine my emosh I said then and there Permanent devosh You've made all other girls seem blah Just you alone fills me with ah! (Chorus 2) 'S wonderful! 'S marvelous! You should care for me! 'S awful nice! 'S paradise! 'S what I love to see My dear, it's four-leaf clover time From now on my heart's working overtime Oh, 'S wonderful! 'S marvelous! That you should care for me!
You're fully right! Only a few records witness how a real great singer she was. Have you heard her recordings with André Previn trio? Or 'Latin for lovers'?

This Doris Day rendition was also featured in the film noir, Crime Wave. It plays during the opening sequence, involving a young Charles Bronson and two other thugs, robbing a gas station. Good film.
IF I HAD THE MONEY AND KNOW HOW...I WOULD OPEN A NIGHT CLUB THAT HAD AN ORCHESTRA AND LIVE PERFORMERS SINGING THE SINGERS AND STANDARDS FROM THE 40'S-50'. HAVE ALL THE PATRONS DRESS UP IN WHITE JACKETS WITH TIES OR DRESS SUITS AND GOWNS. TOP NOTCH DINING TABLES AROUND THE DANCE FLOOR. PEOPLE WHO CAN SING WITHOUT AUTOTUNE OR TECHNICAL GADGETS...MARTINIS TO DIE FOR...AND A REAL MIXOLOGIST AND TOP NOTCH KITCHEN STAFF WITH SEASONAL FARM TO TABLE MENUS. VALET PARKING AND LIMOSINES AND CAB SERVICE ALL NIGHT...
@@sandaglad Actually, her hair and make-up were pretty good in "Romance on the High Seas." She was referring to her 1950s pics, if I recall her as-told-to autobiography accurately. "Starlift" is a good example.
One more comment & then I'll drop it. She said on page 86 of the book that she hated "the horrendous lacquered hair and pancake makeup" in her first picture. She later commented that she rarely liked the clothes Warner Bros.dressed her in, but no complaints about hair or makeup in the 50's. Her hair & makeup in Star Lift was what she liked - a "dutch bob" and natural makeup.
Doris Day is 5 of Spades ♠♠♠♠♠Happy Birthday to Doris Day REST IN POWER Blessings and HUGS! 👑💜
In my opinion Doris was by far the best of the big band female singers.
Beautiful singer. Great swing. Day was an excellent rhythm singer.

In 1963 Doris Day was the number one box office star in the world. Not hard to believe either. She was great!

It’s beautiful how happy she looks.
I’ve never been able to decide if Doris was a better singer or actress but it really doesn’t matter, she’s flat out fabulous and a heck of a comedian
Doris Day was a hard core cool person.

My heart: my Soul😩
My soul: my heart😫
Damn, that half-empty theater filled up faster than a shooting comet.
i love you doris
If only she would have sung with the pianist. Doris Day was a great singer who rarely had an opportunity to prove she was more than an entertainer -
You're fully right! Only a few records witness how a real great singer she was. Have you heard her recordings with André Previn trio? Or 'Latin for lovers'?
i like the day that wearing a gloves when singing is a thing
She is fantastic, but Diane Krall nails this tune to my heart
I heard Diana's first, i love both though

We spent all those decades urging so hard for women to become like men that we never stopped to ask if we shouldn't....
0:50 - Hey, it's Dr. Bellows.
How did we devolve from this to Miley Cyrus nekkid on a wrecking ball???
Doom
It has been a slow deterioration of morals, lack of class and cheapened mores. And a dearth of genuinely talented souls.
S’wonderful started on a musical by Fred Astaire and his sister which turned into the movie funny face. I didn’t know it was in anything else.

Doris later said she hated the Warner Bros. lacquered hairstyles and pasty make-up of that time, and she was right.
She was referring to her hairstyles in her first picture in 1948.
