Empathy doesn’t have to be limited to worrying over one thing. It’s very likely these commenters got upset over the first topic and commented before continuing the video. Even though killing several children and adults is far more extreme than risking the health and ruining a moment of happiness for one homeless person, there is no need to compare and only be outraged by one. If people are more upset/shocked by #15, it might be partially due to the circumstances being more clear with the individual (as sad as it is, we as a society are pretty much desensitized and unfazed with mass murders at this point- especially when the victims aren’t given much ‘exposure’ about their lives or how they were in that very moment). Awful, maybe,, but I doubt it’s because the comments section is full of uncaring/sadistic people or what have you.

Empathy doesn’t have to be limited to worrying over one thing. It’s very likely these commenters got upset over the first topic and commented before continuing the video. Even though killing several children and adults is far more extreme than risking the health and ruining a moment of happiness for one homeless person, there is no need to compare and only be outraged by one. If people are more upset/shocked by #15, it might be partially due to the circumstances being more clear with the individual (as sad as it is, we as a society are pretty much desensitized and unfazed with mass murders at this point- especially when the victims aren’t given much ‘exposure’ about their lives or how they were in that very moment). Awful, maybe,, but I doubt it’s because the comments section is full of uncaring/sadistic people or what have you.
