Dude, I was having the exact same issue. I tried to fix it 3 times & couldn't seem to find the problem. As soon as I saw this I went & changed the optimization on gmail. It made complete sense & as soon as I switched the toggle over the notification popped up immediately showing 6 emails. Thank you for this video!!!!!! 👍🏻

I'm interested to know if you'd previously set those apps to never sleep? I did & I've not been having any of these issues, I'm in the UK so it may be set up slightly differently. The interesting thing is I looked at what you showed & 74 items are listed, mostly system stuff with a some apps that I instructed not to sleep but not all. Are you seeing the all your apps?

Still not getting notifications. When I turn the phone on, I see my notifications. But my phone is not turning on to alert me. I have the Edge Lighting Punch hole turned on. When the phone is on, works great. When the phone is off, nothing.

I have got another issue you or someone else might be able to help with. And this happened on the note 9 too, I'm on the note 10 plus now, when my phone is on silent, say over night or when I connect to Bluetooth radio in the car, android mutes notifications in the car now, which is bloody annoying that it can't be disabled, when I take it out of silent mode, the notification sound stays on silent, until I go into the sound settings to turn it back up, very annoying, any help would be appreciated. I don't use do not disturb or any other apps that control the sound.

I appreciate the effort and talent that goes into making these videos. Unfortunately, this fix did not work for me. My phone is brand new so for my fix I went into:
Settings
Notifications
Email
New Email
Obviously, make sure that ‘Show Notifications’ is activated. This is where (for some reason) the ‘Silent’ choice was ticked. I ticked ‘Alert’ and now I get a sound notification for emails.
I have unlocked version and my internet is terrible when not on wifi can this be because its unlocked for some reason? I have Verizon

I think it's an Android P problem and not a battery issue because I have the same problem too, back when I was on Oreo I did not have that issue

How do you stop vibration for app notifications? I receive notifications just fine, but can't figure out how to shut off the vibration alert. Must be a way.

Twitter bleacher report and Gmail are all delayed text messages work. Whenever I wake my phone up I get all my notifications it's very stressful especially when you need your notifications to work for your job. Any news on this one tried all the steps even factory reset my phone nothing works.

@@GregglesTV On the Recent button (3 lines at the bottom), when I hit it a screen comes up with all apps open. Below that is a close all apps tab. Below that is usually 4-5 apps suggested. Do you know how to remove sugessested apps? Under close all apps tab

It does only work briefly it goes back to sleep tho, this phone got me on the edge already I tried everything nothing seems to work to get the notification as soon as it does arrive, it’s driving me nut!
The frustrating thing is that it works and then suddenly it doesn't. I don't know it isn't working until someone calls or emails and asks why I haven't responded to their message(s). I've tried every tip I can find, including yours, and I am still only receiving sporadic notifications through messages.
Did not help. I am not receiving visual or audio notification for text messages. Optimized battery usage was already off.

So I was having this same issue but none of these fixes worked. What did work, I had the clean master app that cleans junk off you phone. I blocked the notifications from that app and that's when I stopped getting notifications like from furbo and ring. So I uninstalled it and instantly started working. Not a phone issue but a stupid app!!

I'm having battery drain issues and I THINK it's from the stock text messaging app.
I put it to sleep to see if it would help. it runs like mad in the back round, for example yesterday the usage was 45 min but backround was 9 hrs. anyone else have this problem?
I am having battery drainage issues too. I got rid of apps I don't use and keep the brightness low. I'll see if the battery works better. My S10 plus battery was much better. It lasted for 3 days
Alex Gonzalez have you tried power mode (medium power saving), dark mode, put unused apps to sleep, optimise settings (switched on). Etc

Install Yandex Launcher from the play store and make it the default Launcher . It will Show all the notification badges .....

I turned off my AOD and whenever i receive notifications, i only get the sound alert and i need to double tap the screen to see the incoming notifications. My note 5 screen will turn active automatically whenever i receive notifications. How to setup my note 10 to be like note 5?
