We have just purchased exactly the same year van which had a wheel chair lifter in it. Yes it was a buggar of a job to get out as its so heavy. Seats had already been removed save for a modified double seater which folds up to the side. Had an engineering certificate for a 5 seater so I guess the wheel chair counted as one. To another poster the original seat hole bolts where still in place and uncovered, no welding. Also had multiple railings on the floor which proved somewhat difficult to get out as it needed one person underneath to hold the nut whilst undoing from the top.
One additional problem was we had a fuel issue and you guessed it the access hatch had been covered over with the floor with no inspection hatch. Something to keep in mind as for the petrol models of this era the fuel filter is incorporated in the fuel pump. Ended up ripping out the whole floor as there was so many gaps anyway and heaps of holes from the additional bolts that needed filling. . The fuel filter was absolutely caked with shit so obviously hadn't been changed in a while. These videos are proving most informative as I can now see how things are attached and the like.

1:00 Mine is a lot like yours, but no work done yet. I have eight seats, four in a line behind the front seats, two on the passenger's size.
If you would like to reshoot your deleted video, you need to get yourself to Mandurah.

I’m one of your global subscribers, unfortunately the Toyota Hi Ace is not available in the USA, greetings from the USA. We have the Toyota Sienna van in the USA, I don’t know how it compares to the HI ACE in terms of size etc., what are the dimensions of your van? What year is your van. I’m actually interested in building out a box truck rather than a van . Interesting content

Hi, how did you manage to get it engineered? Removing the seats I was told the seat bolt holes need to be welded and inspected, or are you keeping it registered with the original seating capacity?
