In this video, Ray Comfort responds to criticism he’s received from Catholics. He addresses infant baptism, baptismal regeneration, the myth of Jesus starting the Catholic Church, and more. He then shares footage of him sharing the biblical gospel-salvation by grace alone through faith alone in Jesus alone-with Catholics.

That's misunderstanding scripture yes Jesus did say that but that's not what that's meaning cuz he knows that nobody could keep the Ten Commandments without breaking one if you break one you break them all and if that was the case if we could keep them Jesus would never had to have to go to the Cross to die Jesus went to the Cross to fulfill the law Jesus fulfilled the law that's why he said it is finished""" we're not held under the law today we are not held to the law the reason why Ray uses that as a guideline he's the 10 commandments as a guideline so we can look in the mirror and see where we're at of course we want to use it as a guideline as a guideline to shoot for to try for all the time but Jesus said if you break one you break them all so if you broke one you've already broken all of them and I know you have and if you say you haven't then the truth is not in you we have all broken the Commandments nobody can keep them nobody can and that's that's the the misunderstanding of Scripture A lot of people misunderstand scripture Jesus knows we couldn't keep the Commandments that's why he died on the cross that's why we are saved by faith alone through grace alone in Jesus Christ alone and what he did it's not based on our Goods it's based on what Christ did it's based on his good it's based on what he did at the cross and our trust in him that's what it's based on

@@Nicky-hr1qz Of course He wants us to "keep" the commandments as best as we can, but He knows that we will often fail, and He knows that our attempts to keep them cannot save us. @@Nicky-hr1qz I think your disagreement is based on the meaning of the word "keep". When you say that we can't "keep" the law, you don't mean that we can never do anything that the law demands, especially with the help of the Holy Spirit. And he is only saying that the law of God is to be kept; it is our responsibility, alrhough we often stumble at it. So you both seem to believe the same things about it, only looking at it from two points of view. To you, "keep" seems to mean doing the law perfectly. To him, it is basically the obligation we have toward what God says is right, and what He says is wrong, and that we are to keep His commandments about them as best we can, but that sometimes we'll stumble. I don't think you're far apart in what you believe at all. If anything, you seem to be somewhat at odds about how hard it is to "keep" it, even imperfectly.

I was a Catholic for a long time, but did not understand why Jesus had to die for our sins. Long story short but I left the Catholic Church and began reading the Bible on my own, and started to attending a new church, one that was biblically true. I was born in a Muslim family. As an adult, I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Saviour. I am so thankful to Jesus for coming and rescuing a lost sheep like me. Other lost sheep who come from various backgrounds like the Catholic denomination are also grateful to Jesus for revealing himself to them and telling them the truth about himself.
Coming from where I come from, I can in no way fathom why people defend the Catholic denomination. Anyone who reads the Bible and compares it with what the Catholic denomination stands for can easily see that this denomination doesn't follow what Jesus says in the Bible. Yet they are shameless and come to twist the word of God in the comments section in TH-cam.
Surveys have shown in US most people who were born in the Catholic denomination later as adults either become atheists or turn to Evangelical churches. Not even 50% attend Catholic churches for congregation on Sundays. This shows really what this denomination is about.

I came to faith in Christ because of my circumstances. I am a female and I was not treated well by my family. Apparently women have only one purpose in Islam, and that is to be a baby-making machine. Produce the next generation of fighters. You'll see the results of this in what's happening in Gaza now. My sadness and despair over my life had led me to seek Jesus. In Christianity, I have freedom and purpose. I know I am loved by the true and living God. My family is not saved. The church fathers you are advocating for were flawed humans. Many of them took positions and made statements that go against what God said in the Bible. So please, don't come here and defend them.

@@bikesrcool_1958 I don't see anything wrong in the brother's comment. No one should identify themselves with a denomination. Not everyone who calls themselves a Christian is a Christian. Not all Protestant denominations follow the full gospel. There are Calvinists, cessationists, ....... I got lost after hearing the name of the tribes. 🥱. There are Protestant Christians who don't believe in speaking in tongues, when the Bible clearly says its a gift of the Holy Spirit. I heard from a woman who was attending a Baptist church that she was asked to leave the church because she was praying for people to be healed in Jesus's name. Then there are churches that invite Muslim people to come to church and then they hide the cross inside the church because they do not want to offend the Muslim people. So they are saying they are ashamed of Jesus's finished works on the cross. Would these Protestant churches be considered "Christians"?

And man always wants stuff to make sense...? Faith alone along with Grace alone doesn't line up with man's image of i need to work for all i have....? Which is a backhanded slap in the face to God? i.e. I know you are not loving can gracious, i never want to be indebted to you I'll do it my way as... "There is a way that seems right to man... What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as if you had not received it?

Read the gospels and see how Jesus dealt with the Pharisees religious ceremonies and rituals. Short answer, he abhored them. I invite you to watch some videos by Dr. Scott Hahn on TH-cam. He will explain realities that you missed. He is a former Protestant minister who was very anti-Catholic but over the course of a few years read hundreds of books - many with the writings of the early Church Fathers - and discovered all his beliefs about Catholicism had been totally wrong. Jesus loves all Christians, but he makes himself available to us in a very special way in the Catholic Church which is profoundly transformational when we come with open hearts and say “yes, Lord, I believe, let not my will but your will be done.”

There are some here and there, but they are more often focused on evangelizing through charitable actions (e.g. building schools, donating goods to people in crisis, feeding the homeless in church kitchens, etc). However, evangelism doesn't mean you automatically have the fullness of the truth. If I go out on the street and I bring someone to faith in Christ, but I don't tell them to study his Word and get baptized, I have only done him a partial service. In the same way, though Ray is right to tell people they are sinners in need of salvation, he has only partially helped them by not promoting sacrements outside of baptism. When he challenges Protestants and Christians to go back and read the writings of early Christians, you have to understand what he's really asking you to do.
He's referring there to the patristic writings written after the Bible, up until about the 700s. However, there are a lot of difficulties with properly understanding those writings.
For one, there are very few Christian writings outside of the New Testament from the early years of the church. Most date to after the 300s, when the Constantinian shift was in full swing. Many of the writings from that period were responses to other documents that no longer exist, so you're hearing the proverbial sound of one hand clapping. (The often cited writings of Irenaeus is a good example).
It's also worth noting that Catholics often don't cite those documents themselves, but are imposing medieval interpretations of those ancient sources onto the texts. You can often see this in the word choices that translators make when translating these documents into English (You can see this in some of the ways that Clement's epistle is often translated).
Just as a final point, there is absolutely no contemporary documentation of the first several popes. Really, the first 15 popes or so are pretty much just a case of "trust me, bro" by later writers.

I have already had too many signs from Christ that the Catholic Church is the truth. Protestantism came from a man that believed he could interpret the gospel better than the early church fathers and all other Christians for over 15 centuries. His path to discovering this protestant "truth" was guided by his feelings. He didn't FEEL that God could ask so much of mankind, he didn't FEEL anything when he "lived" the Catholic truth, so he decided it must be wrong. There couldn't be a more anti-gospel message than that. Love doesn't consist of feelings... the gospel itself says: "love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what recompense will you have? Do not the tax collectors do the same? And if you greet your brothers only, what is unusual about that? Do not the pagans do the same? So be perfect, just as your heavenly Father is perfect." True love consists of loving people when you don't FEEL like loving them. How could Luther say that the Catholic Church asked too much of him and that faith alone was all that was needed when God asked for us to be PERFECT!?

@@santiagovela6364so how are you doing with being perfect? Yes we are told to be perfect yet none of us are able to do so. We are also told to love God with all your heart soul strength and mind.. how are you making out with that? No one is able to observe these commandments perfectly, that is why we need Christ. You can't live a perfect life, remember what the Bible says,.. if we say we have no sin we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. This is why we must turn to Christ in faith in Him. In the perfect sinless live that He lived, in His sacrifice upon the cross and His resurrection. It's not our righteousness that brings about salvation it's the perfect righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ. We can't do anything to even begin to come close to this righteousness, we fail constantly, every day. When you're truly trusting in Christ you're trusting in what Christ has accomplished in His finished work. It's bringing yourself to rest in your own attempts to reach God trough your own works of righteousness and trusting that God will reach you in His.
And your comment about loving others, the Bible speaks to us about that.
Loving others is found in obedience to God...
      ‭‭Romans‬ ‭13:8‭-‬10‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
[8] Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law. [9] For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not bear false witness,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, are all summed up in this saying, namely, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” [10] Love does no harm to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.
You see when we live our lives the way God would have us live it we are expressing love for people all around us even if there complete strangers. When we observe the 10 commandments we are loving others as you can see in the passage above. Hope this helps. :)

Yes, if a man is justified, you see it by his works. Because faith all by itself is invisible. But the works aren't what justifies him. He can only be justified by the gift of God's saving grace, which God gives to people only through faith in Jesus as Savior.
James acknowledged this truth one verse earlier (v. 23). "“Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”-and he was called a friend of God."
Read the 4th Chapter of Romans. Also Galatians 3 and Ephesians 2.

They think that just by confessing their sins to a priest and 'doing' the fake 'stations of the cross' bowing and genuflecting around the church and venerating all the 'angelic idols' and burning candles to them inside the church they have then suddenly been made right with God, however "let no one disqualify or defraud you, insisting on self abasement, the worship of angels, taking his stand on visions"... "these have the appearance of wisdom or what popularly passes for wisdom promoting self abasement, rigor of devotion and severity to the body but they are of no value in checking the Indulgences of the flesh" Col 2:16...
You cannot buy Indulgences as the church previously sold to gulible followers!!
For it is by grace you are saved of your sins and misdeeds not of works. See Ephesians 2:8-9
FYI - the 'Church' believes (like you're Catholic opponent in the video) that anyone who is not a Catholic is actually a 'Crypto- Catholic' and 'they' (we) don't actually know it!! Hahaha

No one is good says the Bible.
The Law is there to convict us of sinn and to bring us to Christ and shows us that He is THE ONLY way to salvation. He fullfilled the Law FOR us and ONLY !!!!!! by trusting in Him and His righteousness we are saved.
When we trust in Christ alone and give our lives to Him we will be reborn by the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit will change us from within. We will have a new heart with new desires. And if we do make mistakes and sinn we repent and ask for forgivenis and His Blood washes our sinns away.

My wife and I were born and raised as a Roman Catholic and converted to Christianity 15 years ago. Roman Catholics believe a lot that is not in the Bible.

Absolutely correct. And this is the main problem with all false religions: Catholics, Mormons, JWs, etc.

Do you believe that you are saved by faith alone? Do you believe that the Bible is the sole infallible authority on the Christian faith? Do you believe that God punished his Son for our sins? Do you believe that Jesus is the only intercessor of prayers between God and man? Do you believe that you don't have to confess your sins to others to be healed? If so, then you (and the people who sent you and your wife astray) believe a lot that is not in the Bible.

You can read the Nicene Creed. We Catholics do Rom 10:10 at least weekly. It's called the Profession of Faith we recite it every week after the Scripture readings.

I am a Roman Catholic Evangelist. Thanks be to God!

@RCEmichaelreavey Tell me the dead sends you pray too is that valid in the New testament, Tell me once again did Paul pray to the dead saints or summoned any dead saints or did he just wrote to the saints who are holy people following the word of God and following his son Jesus Christ in his letters?? Then why are you worshiping dead people

@@joswinnoronha1739 because they aren't dead, they are alive in Christ, for Christ is the god of the living not the dead. If Christ is alive and we rejoin him after departing from this world, are we not alive in him? Otherwise, what has Christ come for? Did he not come to save us from the penalty of sin, which is death? To think of those who are saved as dead would be to indirectly claim Jesus himself is dead, which is obviously not the case (nor do I think you are making that case, however it logically follows from the flawed argument).

I certainly agree with the idea of the believer's baptism, but it should give us pause that the early church was nearly unanimous in practicing infant baptism.
