Has anyone use this with a hose and nozzle. For example when I let go of the trigger to the nozzle does the pump sense the back pressure and turn off or does it just keep running?
If you look at them, the quick connects, while being a time saving step, also make the pump work harder to get rid of the water by restricting the flow with a smaller diameter fitting.
I rubber band some screen meshing around the inlet to pump dirty areas without clogging. This things a game changer for transferring rainwater to larger ibc totes
I haven't had the experience of it dying on me because of running it dry. that in mind i'm keeping an eye on it when i'm using it. I wouldn't recommend letting it run dry, most pumps will burn out if they are dry. Milwaukee says if you use one of there Redlink batteries it will detect when its running dry and automatically shut off. I would go with that option over risking tool damage, thx for watching
@@hammerandhome wow. Thx. That turn off tech sounds perfect. I’ve lost two drill pump attachments trying to get to a pipe or filter clog. There’s always a lot going on. And if they clog with mud or hit dry at and they can burn quick. Neve heard of Rene battery turn off tech I’ll use it though
If you was smart you would know he does tools reviews how good and bad they are, it a smart way getting cordless tools for free . A lot of media people do it.
A plumber reviewed that it burnt up the motor while pumping out HOT water out of a water heater. And he also mention it actually states it on milwaukees recomendations.
Glycol in itself is not corrosive. Propylene glycol is non regulated meaning it may as well be distilled water. Glycol is very viscous so I would imagine 100% glycol this pump will be very slow to move it. We use roots style pumps to pump 100% IGPG. If it’s 35-40% like most hydronic systems it should move quite a bit before having issues with getting hot in the motor. Glycol that’s been exposed to oxygen for long periods of time gets very acidic since it breaks down into about 5 different acids . That will likely take a toll on the aluminum housing in time. My roots pump is aluminum and I put a lot of acid and caustic through it and you can definitely tell it’s getting pitted on the faces which slows down rate and achievable pressure. That would likely be the only thing that wears out beyond repair but if you rinse it between uses of acidic or alkaline fluids it should last a long time
@POWERHOUSE well I’ll continue to do things my way save money and still accomplish the same task. And you do you. What I said wasn’t really wrong though…..
It will NOT pump 418 gals. per hour. It is only good for the weekend warrior. No good at all for the professional. I'm a Milwaukee nut and it's the only tool I regret.

As long as you use high quality quick connectors the diameter is no smaller than the diameter of the hose interior
I recommend MTM hydro

@@joshuatillman9093 great idea!
thanks! it said online to only use it for clean water heater transfer but was wondering if i could just use a screen for other use. THANK YOU!
As a generator technician that works on huge engines I’m going to give this a try for the coolant.
good idea! let me know how that goes
Could u use this with saltwater?? Or is the internals all metal and would corrode?? Thanks!
So what inlet hose and bit do I use to suck up source (water)
This thing is great, but do they offer a cheaper plug-in version, any brand is acceptable thank you
It will drain a 40 gallon tank in 20/30 mins max. I recommend using the bigger batts, they last longer.
get yourself a Redink battery for peace of mind
That is slow. A regular little pony pump will drain a 40 gal in like 5 minutes
Replacement impeller : Does Milwaukee offer NBR ( Nitrile Butyl Rubber ) impeller ?
Is it not good for muddy waters? I was going to use this to move water out of driveway
Mate I’m a plumber and use it in dirty water all the time
Thanks Mate!
I just bought one of these on Wednesday before Thanksgiving to add to my Arsenal of Milwaukee M18 tools!! 11/24/22

Nice! It’s a sweet tool
How is it for pumping water out of trenches?
Could you please help test Our pump that works with dewalt 20v battery?
Does it work on fuel?
will this work with a cutoff saw? Can you make a video connecting the pump it to your DeWalt cutoff saw cutting concrete?
i'm sure it would work well, i'll do one when the weather gets a bit warmer
@@hammerandhome good. you'd be the first to do it.
what is a redlink battery?

@@hammerandhome There is no redlink batteries. I think it's REdlink intelligence technology that is built into it.
Wish it was variable speed. :/ nice tool for what it is though
That would be a sweet upgrade
I imagine the seals/impeller wear over time. How repairable/serviceable is the unit?
I haven’t torn one apart but I think it’s pretty easy to take apart.
I’d guess like most tools u throw it out
You can buy a new impeller and seal kit for them for $30
@@anthonybeasley6294 Thanks!
Thank you for the video, but just looked funny to see you talk about Milwaukee, when your background shows a full army of DeWalt Tools, lol
@@walter.bellini lol, yeah I get it. you should see my shop now 😬
Very good video thank you just funny how you have all the wall in the background and doing a Milwaukee commercial LOL

Is there a way to control flow like variable speeds on the pump?
no, thats a good idea.
A plumber reviewed that it burnt up the motor while pumping out HOT water out of a water heater. And he also mention it actually states it on milwaukees recomendations.
yup 139°f and lower...
best tp get a 120v transfer pump made of steel and or cast...
It’s sad it’s not engineered for that. Seems like that would be the purpose of a battery powered pump.
Does Milwaukee sell a pre-filter attachment to keep the leaves and grass out?
I’m not aware of any pre filters from Milwaukee. But it’s just a regular hose end, so you could buy a filter from someone else.
Lol why would you think you would need to buy a filter attachment from Milwaukee .
Could you use this to pressure test pipework?
i dont think so
Would be great on site for a pressure test
Was thinking the same.
What's the biggest battery it will fit?
The max
12.0

Can I use this for my 20 gal aquarium tank?
yup it would work for that, just try not to suck up any of the rocks with it
I think this would be overkill for a 20 gallon aquarium tank. You can get much less expensive ones to do that kind of job
@@WinningTints yeah it was haha but I’m a Milwaukee fan boy so it’s all good 😂
This gizmo looks perfect for sucking the bottom sediment and mung out of my horse's stock tank. Attach a brush to the suction end...hmmm.
Same thing as a pump you buy for a yard spray container which comes with a battery hook up also (atm/car/boat) for 40 dollars.

nope, it might over heat and burn out
