Perfect was just using the dynamic caption function for the first time today and this was so timely on how to edit the text. I was scratching my head until watching your video. Thank you.
Thank you for the very good tutorial. Are the AI Dynamic Captions going to be available for the Spanish language as well or only for English? Thanks for your very professional videos!
YES, it’s available in Spanish right now starting with Camtasia 2024. It already supports many languages and I know ow Spanish, French, English and German are among many others :)
Thanks. I just took one of my Camtasia 2023 videos and loaded it into 2024. I tried to add Dynamic captions and it wouldn't work. Do you have to create the video in 2024 to add Dynamic captions?
Rob - as always, great content, and really appreciate you sharing your vast expertise! However, I'm having some issues regarding the editing of the 'word boxes;' they automatically duplicate, or entirely disappear - when making corrections. Sometimes I will have to 'double-up' or even 'triple-up' words as a work-around to this issue. Is this just my error, or is there a bug/imperfection here with dynamic capitioning? I just spent over 3 hours trying to corect a 9:35 video, and I'm only at 3:15 right now. Any help you can share would be greatly appreciated - thanks!
I do know they're working on some bug fixes with Dynamic Captions... specifically, a better way to edit them. For instance, currently you cannot delete a word... it leaves a space. You also can't add a word. You can only edit the words that are there. I know they've received a lot of feedback on how to improve the editing of dynamic captions and are working on that now. Hopefully an update will be available soon :-)
That might be something to let TechSmith know about... as I know they're working on some updates to their Dynamic Captions system and how to edit the text, etc. :-)
Hi @RobtheMaritimer, thank you so much for sharing this video. It is very helpful. I'd like to ask you something: I dragged the dynamic captions to the track, then I've to edit it and after that the captions are not showing anymore. do you know how can I fix it? Thank you
9:02 for a dialogue you can add 2 styles, cut them into 1 piece so it would be easier to understand who speaks at the moment. for example it can be useful for distanced shoots where we cant easily understand who is talking
Dear Rob, show step by step how to do this in other languages, I don't know how to use the language code, so please make a video and show me Please. my mother language is kannada so how to use this language? please help me
As of right now, no I don't believe they support Arabic or any right-to-left language. It's probably something they're going to add at some point though... I just don't know when.
Thanks Rob for this video. I tried it but for French and the transcription wasn't good. Is there a way of changing the video language before you add the caption, so it can automatically transcribe the FRENCH???
I think the best way to use dynamic captions is to complete your video edits first, and then the last step should be adding the captions. Maybe that will help? :-)
Have you encountered an issue where it duplicates text, particularly towards the end of a video, and doesn't finish the captioning? I've experienced this a few times now and the editing they allow just won't work because it repeats maybe five words and there's still like 30 words that need to be captioned.
I have noticed some bugs like this, yes... and I'm hopefully they'll be fixed in an upcoming update. I know they're working on improvements to the editing process too. Fingers crossed all will be addressed soon! :-)
There's no way for me to know what the issue is that you're having. Your best bet is to contact Techsmith's tech support as they may be able to help you with it.
I was just hoping for an easily understood tutorial on this. Yours is super! Thanks so much!
Glad it was helpful!
Rob, you're stuff is invaluable and has saved me tons of time for videos to get my channel started. Thanks!
Thank you... happy to help!

Awesome! I'm glad it helped :-)
Definitely my favourite new feature in Camtasia 2024. Thanks Rob 🤩
Mine too! :-)
Wonderful tutorial about how to use Dynamic Captions in Camtasia 2024 Rob! Keep up the great work! 💚
Thank you! Glad you liked it :-)
Thank you for this tutorial, Rob. Much appreciated!
No problem... more to come!
I could see this using Comicraft wild fonts for emphasis. 🎉 nice, Rob. Are u in Patreon?
No I don’t have Patreon. Thanks for the comments :-)
Hi Rob! In Camtasia plans, the AI transcription feature is indicated only for the Create bundle: Camtasia+Audiate. It’s not the case?
The AI transcription feature will work on ANY Camtasia 2024... whether you bundle it with Audiate or not. You don't need Audiate to get it :-)

Thanks. A question: How do you export auto-generated captions? I cant see the export SRT on MAC (using Camtasia 2024)
There currently is no way to export dynamic captions to SRT... I'm hopeful that's something Camtasia is working on :-)
@@RobtheMaritimer Thanks for the quick reply

You should be able to import ANY video or voice audio file into Camtasia 2024 and apply the dynamic captions. Not sure why it wouldn’t work for you?

@@RobtheMaritimer Excellent, Rob - happy to hear that it wasn't just me!
When I add background music the captions pick it up and say 'rock music' instead of the words I am speaking. Its very frustrating

I'm not exactly sure what would've happened. You may just have to drag the captions down above the track again?
I hope you upload more videos like this, and speaking of the new Camtasia 2024 tools, it's a shame the video is in English.
English is the only language I know how to speak :-) But the new dynamic captions in Camtasia will transcribe multiple languages!

Yes, very good point! Thanks for sharing :-)
How to use another languages?
I know it does English, French, Spanish and German for sure... I'll try to get a complete list of all the languages it supports :-)
I used this Caption feature to generate subtitle in Bahasa Indonesia
@@RobtheMaritimer Where can you change it to another language ?
Does the dynamic caption work in Hebrew?
I don't think it does at the moment but I'm sure they'll look into it if you submit it as a feature request :-)
Good 🎉🎉❤

Dynamic Captions doesn't translate... the video must already be on the other langauge first, then Dynamic Captions will recognize it :-)
Thanks
is it supporting Arabic ?

@@RobtheMaritimer OK
I really like this feature, but it definitely slows my whole project down when I try and make edits to the video clip that has the captions. Just me?!

@@RobtheMaritimer Thanks. We ended up saving the clip as it's own file and bringing it back in as new media and then it works.
Thanks for the demo. I'll be upgrading my Camtasia account soon
No problem! Cheers :-)
@@RobtheMaritimer I just renewed my Camtasia. Your video demo demonstrated the value of renewing.
Oh, I forgot to mention, I used your link.
how to change the language?
Camtasia's Dynamic Captions will automatically detect the language for you :-)
I just upgraded to Camtasia 2024. My dynamic captions are not working in my video even though I correctly followed your steps
