Leave a comment down below and I’ll try my best to reply (even if a bit slow)! Also, what do you think of the thumbnail without the text? I feel like it looks 'cleaner'? These habits are simple, but not many people actually stick with them consistently to gain the massive benefits they have. I hope you take action by trying at least one of these out :) If you read this far and want to support me in making better videos: www.buymeacoffee.com/salimahmed
i think you should add text to ur thumbnails to make them more 'clickable', which is also basically the point 🤷🏻♀️ the eye has to go over to the title to know what's the video about. this can be disadvantageous when someone scrolls over quickly :)
Thanks for engaging! Managed to get your click without the text though 😉😂 just kidding, but hmm yeah, i know a lot of other big creators do thumbnails without text, which is why i thought I'd give it a try (and tbf will give the analytics a look tomorrow once more data is available for me). Just from an aesthetic standpoint, though, thought I'd ask you guys to see which one you like more, coz sometimes i feel like the text makes it look a bit 'cheap'? Thank you again for the feedback, i appreciate it!!
I have a video about Notion ahaha, it's called How to Organise Your Life. Covers the broad things i use Notion for - check it out if you think it might be useful + definitely follow the links in the description to join the Q&A waitlist for free + my free templates :)
It’s refreshing to a see a video about self-improvement that feels practical and supportive instead of just supporting the “grindset”, allowing yourself to have real feelings/thoughts about your abilities while working on making yourself more into the person you want to be is a pretty great way to think about growth
For sure, it's all about practical and real-life productivity, which should involve both personal development as well as academic (and not just one or the other!). I hope my videos help and thanks for engaging :)
For sure, if we really want something, we have to try our best to find a way regardless of whether other people think it's possible or not. By taking action, even if we don't reach exactly where we wanted to get, we'll most likely be better off than we would otherwise have been! Thanks for engaging, and i hope this video helped :)
I really like the idea that u always make concise video..and put everything into that.. Your 5 min one video has more content than some of the 25 min long videos of others..
I appreciate your insights on productivity. They are quite helpful and as you rightly mentioned, consistency is the key to gaining their long-term benefits. As far as your video is concerned, I think you can add captions along with it. It will aid even those too who find it hard to understand your accent or pronunciation, otherwise, everything's perfect. Keep up the good work! 👍
Thanks for engaging! I will check on how to add captions, I thought it would all be automatic to be honest! Hope to see you again in future video comments :)
Another great video thanks Salim, helpful advice to improve my life. I like the advice of doing something you enjoy to break up the tiring tasks. Sometimes it creates a bit of a positive loop of sorts where you do something you enjoy like reading or gym and then feel productive from doing that and then want to add more productive tasks onto your schedule for the day. Also appreciate the 1% tip, just believing in yourself that you are capable and can achieve a lot if you put your mind and hard work towards it.
For sure, it's a really good positive feedback system just because, as you say, you gain energy to want to do more - sort of like building momentum that keeps you going after you've seen yourself do what's good for you. Honestly, a lot of it seems to be down to the mindset as opposed to anything else, so if we can work on that, I'm sure we can make a lot of progress! Thanks for engagin and I hope it helps :)
Such an amazing video, as usual..! One more suggestion to add in ur 'potential yt vids' list : How to use anki at its best and effectively (from a top 1% med student) haha ... Also, it could be about : How to sleep better like yk, sleeping adequately but like getting more out of it, so we have the energy to use at better things like studying * Phew *
Nice to see you again :) I already have a video on anki (called 'how to absorb facts' or something like that) if you haven't seen it, and there's a link to the ChatGPT templates + anki worked examples in the newer video descriptions if that might help! Ahaha that might be a good idea for the future! Thanks for engaging again :)
@@Salim_Ahmed i know abt that vid... thats where i came to know about anki, in the first place.. but what i meant is, a anki-specific video to use it to its max, how much time to allocate to it and productively use & save 27 hours per week aka Salim Ahmed's style.. lol... So, if you could look into this, that'd be super-helpful
I don't remember if this was you or someone else that asked for more details on how I use Anki, but essentially I keep it pretty simple to be honest. I use the settings shown in the anki video, and do the questions in the way I showed the worked example in the Notion page in my description. I aim to do all of my reviews on the day it's due (so i usually get over 150 reviews a day) and do between 50-100 new cards a day. If you find it difficult to keep up, it could mean that you're doing too many new cards (in that case drop it down a bit), or that your cards are too complicated (they shouldn't really take more than 20s a card). This is basically the fundamental of anki for me and that's how I learn stuff pretty fast - I hope it helps!
@@Salim_Ahmed yeah, I hv a lot of complicated flashcards.. more like bcz i dont want a lot of flashcards.. so i end up adding all details about a topic to 2 cards only... and no, it must be someone else who asked you about anki too... i asked it in this vid only... well, thanks Salim, I'll take your words into account!
For notion, is that the pro plan or the regular? Also, is this the personal setting or one for school? I love how you have the objectives out for the macro and micro. I found and took your anki advice two days before my exam and I scored 10% above average… cramming in two days. I really want to copy all of your settings! Your advice is SOLID. Thank you 😌
Mine is on the pro plan, but everything in this video (minus the AI feature) is free :) Here is a link to join the notion Q&A waitlist for free: ntn.so/SalimAhmed It's also personal settings, didn't use any premade settings. Genuinely it's great to hear that the tips in the anki video worked, congrats on doing so well!! Definitely would avoid cramming in future though ahaha but at least it worked out :) You're welcome and thanks for engaging!
I have no problem with understanding your accent or pronunciation but i have one suggestion for u (u can avoid it if u dont like) Your videos are fast paced and full of information if u add subtitles it would be more helpful.. Still i would say,u r making amazing videos.
For sure, i thought this too, that the videos are quite fast paced - but i've been trying to play around with finding a balance between giving enough information + still keeping it short, and am for sure still working on it ahaha Will look into subtitles / captions, all this time i thought it'd be automatically generated to be honest!
To be honest bro I'm not sure I'll do this as it doesn't seem like something that fits this channel / in demand, but I'm sure there's a lot of other channels out there for directly grad entry med school
When are your exams? I wouldn't advise studying last minute, always better to do even 1-2hrs a day over time. But I will add last minute studying / cramming to my list of videos!
Ah okay! Still a decent amount of time to be fair, would recommend checking my video on how to study if that might help. But will for sure add cramming or something to my list of videos! Good luck with your exams :)
