@@SailorJames Bula James. New subbie here. Im from there Savusavu area .. a village up the Hibiscus highway , but live now in San Francisco Cali. Enjoying your videos and sailing the seas through your eyes 😁😁😁👍✌️👊✊️ i hope youll sail and visit Taveuni which is closeby - Fijis volcanic Garden island with tonnes of waterfalls and amazing diving spots & unique flora & fauna. Its where the 180 meridian ( used to ) run through as well. And when ya done, maybe a sail to the western side of Viti levu to Nadi & the Mamanuca islands shoot site of movies like Blue Lagoon & Tom Hanks Castaway. Tonnes of small resorty beautiful islands n torqoise waters out there. Btw the 2nd Blue Lagoon was shot on Taveuni with Milla Jovovich. First was with Brooke Shields and shot at Turtle Island in the Mamanucas. Happy Sailing Sir ! Take care and God Bless !!!
HEAVEN!!! I have watched this over and over. This is how I imagine heaven to be, if it were an actual place....wild, beautiful, unabandoned joy. Thank you for allowing us to share these fantastic adventures.
The innocence of the children going to the waterfall is beautiful. So active, playful, and joyful. This is something we rarely see with American children anymore.❤
James I love how you film the fauna and close up surroundings where ever you are. It's beautiful. Your passion for Polynesian life and culture is captured perfectly by your videos. This is such a joy to watch. You have such a nice friendly demeanour about you as well. You are very pro stuff rather than anti stuff. It's so refreshing.
A really wholesome episode with the waterfall and local kids. So great to see the 100k coming so quickly. I think the spiders were 'stretch spiders' (nickname) - a type of long-jawed orb weaver spider, but unfortunately I'm no David Attenborough.
You are doing it right. And we in the US/UK think that we are it. Wrong! I have sailed to so many places as you and seen the life that people have. A good life. Those kids weren’t suffering. Ha ha.
Watching the kids at the waterfall made my day. And that plate of Veggie Fried Rice made me hungry. As James would say, "I'm super stoked". Loved the content.
James, I resonate with your attitude about spending the money with local communities and not stressing about being 'shafted' because in our terms it really isn't too much. Too often in our culture we get furious about being charged too much and it is justified because it is just plain greed. In these communities they are just adding 30-40% because they know you can afford it and they are just trying to get a good feed for the family. No reason to stress or be bitter because you will lose out more from the bad feelings.
Totoka dina! I had the privilege of staying and volunteering in Vuadomo village this summer, so this is really nice to look back and see the waterfall again. :-)
Yeah! Another Monday Saver. Got through an hour long MRI this morning knowing this was waiting for me! The falls were beautiful. Reminded me of Dominican Republic and places in Mexico. Peace Sean
Hi friend Michael ear, I was just thinking I don't think it was jewel of the Nile ,but rather romancing the stone. So anyways have a great time ,wherever you're at and be safe and be inspired.
Well - I dont think you spotted too many birds given how enthusiastic your guides were - But the sound of their joy as they played in the waterfall more than made up for it.
I really enjoyed this video as it brought back memories of a trip I took to Taveuni, Fiji several years ago. Your hike with those children just made me smile - they were filled with pure JOY showing you the way and then getting to show off for you. They look so beautiful and healthy. One thing I remember about the people of Fiji is their beautiful teeth! Candy was pretty much non-existent where I went and the locals just had the most beautiful teeth - straight and bright white! Thanks for an awesome video!
@@SailorJames LOL We uses miles in the UK same as you do in America but then we use metric for everything else. So when i went to school we learnt both systems. Can he helpful when traveling around. But yeah for a rough conversion from KMs and you want miles multiply by .6 so 18x.6.
Sublime James...man that waterfall was amazing, I was thinking what a wonderful place to grow up in, wow. Thank so much for another fabulous journey into the S.Pacific....safe travels bro
Amazing waterfall and enjoy your sailing in and around the islands. Good to see you getting some will deserved rest. Enjoy and look forward to your next video.
Such a great time at that waterfall and swimming hole. I smiled the whole time. I lived on Oahu for a few years and have traveled to the Yucatan Peninsula and Panama and a few places in the Middle East and it reminded me of that. I am happy for you brother! Life is an adventure, and an adventure is a journey with risk. Much Aloha!
Man I can't believe this is your job. I'm not saying it is or was easy. I know you busted your hump to get to this point and to keep Triteia seaworthy. But man, the rewards! Fantastic!
That was SO AWESOME to see you and Sam Houston together!!!!! I was so surprised and it was a GREAT jam session about sailing. Just makes me want to join the sailing community even more. Great people that look out for each other!!
What a beautiful, and happy bunch of children. What a great video. Those spiders we have at our water areas and boats in Canada . with their long legs gives them the ability to walk on water. I'm sure they walk in the little ponds formed by the running water.
That was terrific! I bet you slept well after your big day, and with a full belly of vege rice, yum. So nice to hear you were offered some free time in a taxi on your return, it sort of made up abit for you being over-charged. Fiji sure is beautiful and has a good vibe. So looking forward to seeing more of the place. Expecting to see a stegosaurus come walking out of the jungle (I don't think they ever lived in Fiji though). Happy Sails.
I really enjoy seeing these. I grew up in Hawaii and New Zealand, and was an archaeologist in Hawaii, so it’s fun to see you visit areas I learned about when I studied anthropology / archaeology at UH. Thanks !
Reminds me that when I was a five year old kid, I'd be diving for pennies or sixpences in 30' deep water in Suva Harbour down near the markets. Passengers and crew on passenger or cargo ships. I would have been the only white kid amongst Fijian and Indian kids. Kids being kids was fun. God knows where our mothers were.
Awesome stuff James' . I have followed you on your journey (Following in my foot steps) and pleased to note you say it as it is , respectful to other countries and there culture. I know for a FACT success is coming if it already hasn’t come. because you have such a unique thing going on here. Please keep pushing I know this shits going to take off for you. Maybe one day you can do some upgrades to your boat or even buy a new one.
This is one of the most authentic and wonderful videos of seen 😊Did you have Kava Kava? It’s kinda cool. I used to go to Kava bar in California 🍻 what are the white dots on the rock?
Hi James, only use a taxi with the meter But you’re not going to use one with the meter always asked how much is gonna cost before and taxis going back to the city can only charge two dollars and the bus service in Fiji is very very good except if you’re up in the mountains , Been to Fiji many times Cliff from Logan City, Queensland Australia from the big island
id pay for an episode of just rain on the boat. that ending was incredibly relaxing.
💯 he could just set up a camera with a view in the rainfall and voilà. Sailing Triteia ASMR. That's music to fall asleep to.
The waterfall scene is so heartwarming, with children having genuine fun and not a smart phone in sight. Love this episode, James.
Fantastic to see kids being kids... and not what we see day to day in normal western culture where they are all staring at screens these days.
It will always be one of my favorite memories!
Agreed

I hope my children are able to find the same happiness in America that these children have at Vaudomo waterfall.
Me and my brothers found this same joy raising hell in the dusty fields of New Mexico growing up, and I am grateful for it.

So jealous, your are living many people’s dreams and you seem to know that and are enjoying it like you should. Much love and safe travels.
just kids doing kid things. How cool. That waterfall scene might be one of my favorite things I've seen on youtube.
Crazy to think about those kids being born into a village in the wild like that. What a different kind of life from anything we could ever imagine ❤

The smile on your face at the waterfall. Priceless.
It was magic
Thank you for the time and effort you put in to let us come along with you for these adventures.
All of those children having fun with you in the waterfall.❤
That waterfall was good vibes. Made me smile you were blessed to have all those kids with you.
Laughter of children ❤🎉
Nothing better !!!
Those kids are so fortunate. Compares to the kids living in the modern countries. Thanks for the ride James.
Living the dream mate, love your take on the sailing vlog.
