Aldi Stores had these in stock as a special buy a few months back so I grabbed several pairs. They're great for mechanic type tasks ( why I'd bought them ) and equally good in the gardening tasks.

Hell yeah dude these gloves are the best invention. I used to work in renovation and ever since I encountered these in my boss' toolkit I swear by these for any task that involves digging through dirt or manhandling, well, anything. They just give you the peace of mind that you're not going to get annoying cuts on your hands or get dirt and small rocks under your fingernails. They'll probably fit your hands (you, reader) better than mine because I have disproportionately short fingers for my hand size, so unless I buy undersize I can't quite fill the fingers.

I used this glove on my last hiking on a very rocky mountain. Good stuff, get the job done.

AlfieAesthetics Actually was also wondering about the gloves, but never got around to asking. It sounds like a comfortable fit, and good against heat. Ended not getting it because yellow isn't my color(not tactical enough for my 1337ness), but you might want to check them out after you burn out the remaining 11 gloves.

Personally I rarely wear gloves, because of the dexterity issue. When I must, I usually wear Mechanix brand. They are durable and and allow reasonable dexterity, but they cost a left nut to purchase, so I try to keep them out of the fire.

Used these gloves out in Austria over the winter. I stuck cheap fingerless gloves over the top to give a bit more insulation.
Went through three pairs in six months hard farm work, not bad I'd say!!

Hey Alfie, I have a request. I live in an area with a lot of snow during the winter and very low temperatures. I don't know what winter is like where you reside, but I've always wanted to know how you would create a warm enough winter shelter, keep a great fire going, and have enough food to survive extended periods of time outdoors. I would recommend a queenzy, it's a shelter made of snow, I slept in them at -25°c and it was Okay because you have no wind and the snow layer keep your heat inside :)

I preffer full natural leather gloves.I got mine for 7euro and can handle embers for about 30 seconds even though they transmit heat but they are bassicaly indestructable.The only down side is you cant do fine tasks like tying knots but can be removed fairly quick
Hey Alfie, thanks for the video, two questions:
1.) Do these gloves dry relatively quickly and/or sweat a lot inside the rubber portion? I usually use Mechanix and the synthetic fabric tends to stay wet longer than I like.
2.) Do these gloves exude that very strong rubber smell that common hardware store rubber coated gloves do? Just a personal thing but the sickly rubber smell stays on the hands and I hate to have it constantly intruding into my nature'ings!

Finally some one else noticed.
I use these gloves for work and they rock. You can still answer phone txt etc, great dexterity still possible. I dont have time now to finish the vid and sorry to nitpick but It's Polyurethane not Polyutherane ;)
great gloves used to use them, I got fired once & got home to find a bunch in the bottom of my bag, funny that! ran through them while saving my penny's up for Mechanix wear M-pact gloves, getting some machanix original's next.

You should try mechanix gloves they come in all shapes and sizes and last forever
good for working with paint, chemicals etc around the house without as much sweat buildup of the other kind of nitrile or vinyl or latex etc gloves that fill up like balloons with palm sweat.

I got myself two pairs of real leather gloves on a flea market for two bucks each but still wear the first pair because they're so strong and still do the job. They offer better protection against cuts and resist fire for a short period of time without the risk of molten plastics on your fingertip. However they are more costly if not bought second-hand and do not provide a grip as strong as the nitrile gloves.
Anyways I don't like throwing away so much and as most of this community probalbly are sort of "preparing" for longer bugouts, gloves that last longer than a month so that's another plus for leather. Don't be vegan though!

Have you ever tried the nomex flight gloves? They are fire retardant and seem fairly thin providing a good bit of dexterity. I myself have never tried them but am curious if they are worth a spin

Leather or mechanix wear for me. Wool is a waste of money, great heat retention but also very absorbent and takes ages to dry.

If not, it's still made of PU, which is only biodegraded by two species of the Equadorian fungus Pestalotiopsis. Wikipedia: "Polyurethane polymer is a combustible solid and can be ignited if exposed to an open flame. Decomposition from fire can produce mainly carbon monoxide, and trace nitrogen oxides and hydrogen cyanide. Because of the flammability of the material, it has to be treated with
flame retardands (at least in case of furniture), almost all of which are considered harmful."
